Are there problems? Yes. Are they working on fixing them? Yes. Will it be to everyones liking? No, you can't please everyone. IC is doing a great job, and they have acknowledged the issues previously. I am personally looking forward to the new ICO build.
Don't forget Light Frigates are paper to LRF's while Carriers are still tough to kill even for LF's and easy to retreat to a repair bay. If the enemy has a decent amount of LRF's it's probably a bad idea to build Light Frigates. If the enemy builds nothing but Carriers then Light Frigates will dominate them.
Are you blind or dumb? Didn't I say you need to build mixed fleets now. Oh, and expect to actually lose a ship or 2.
Here, I'll just repost my advice: Carriers are easily countered. Step one, build some carriers (maybe about 1 for every 3 of his) and build nothing but fighters. Step two, build flak (1 for every 3 enemy carrier- minimum). Step three, build light assaults, and if possible, heavy cruisers. Your fighters and flak will drain his carrier's dry of anti-matter because he will continually try to rebuild his SC.&nbs
Yeah, this needs fixed. STill bad with Entrenchment and v1.12.
Dude, my review SUCKS. I know how to micro like Tyr (he should know, he taught me). I generally don't all the time though. And I am becoming much more aggressive about maintaining possession of neutrals.
You know, I am really starting to like Impulse. It seemed practical before, but going on vacation made Impulse shine. Anywhere you go, you can download impulse, and install SoaSE or anything else on any computer anywhere. So if you want to play a game, just connect to the internet, and go! Thanks Ironclad.
Isn't 1105 CST in the future ? Anyway, it's still down. 11:05 PM = 2305 CST 1105 CST = 11:05 AM
Siddy. Dude. Where am I on that list? You can't even remember your own clanmates.
It's down right now 0945 EST, 12/30/2008. This is truly amazing. It seemed like the problem was fixed for awhile, but it is rearing its ugly head with a vengence.
good i thought it was my craptastic AT&T DSL
Verizon DSL does that to me as well. I have heard good things about FIOS. I will probably upgrade when it gets in my area.
hell, I've never been able to connect to ICO. It always gives me the disconnected message that everyone is ranting about.
This is a seperate issue.
ICO is down. Time is 2050 EST on 12/29/2008. EDIT: Down again at 0945 EST on 12/30/2008. EDIT: Down again at 1420 EST on 01/19/2009.
This was changed in v1.1. It is a welcome change, and as many people have pointed out, it is a great savings late game. It basically gives you ships at 60% cost.
So what has a greater range then?
Pretty sure Siddy will answer MARZA MARZA MARZA MISSLE BARRAGE
I have no clue what you are talking about. Try hosting. If people can join your game, you can host.
I thought Assails have a longer engagement range than LRMs. Although if you are stuck playing TEC, I do pick the Akkan strictly for the reason my forces can back off a bit (well that and the ability to colonize quickly).
When you click Ironclad Online and sign in, click Host Setup. You'll see it there. It uses NAT-T to "tunnel" through routers, thereby allowing anyone and everyone to host because no router steup is required.
Dunov magnet ability works really well against advent actually. People talk about flak like it's good,t his one is awesome because it kills so many strike craft and does damage to the target ship.
I like the magnetize ability too, but I was talking about the shield restore.
Shield Restore? I am talking Vasari here. Besides, if we are talking about the Dunovs, I think they are worthless. The nano bomb and phase missles of the vasari make shield abilities almost worthless (you hear that progen worshippers? My missles don't like you). EDIT: What's with the dunov anyway. It gets to target 1 ship at a time while the progen is AoE. TEC got the shaft.
Having 2 Skiranta's is like having mobile repair bays that have an AoE effect. 3 is even better. Sometimes defensive abilities are better than offensive abilities...
I just played with a teammate that put out 2 caps before any frigates. The advantage is if you go straight economy, you can get a 2nd cap without any military labs. You need military labs to get the decent frigates, so you save money. However, he didn't scout, and cried for help because he got rushed and couldn't defend. You have to be very careful. Also, to the person who said vasari doesn't need caps as much as the other races, you are completely wron

You should have v1.12 anyway by now. When I get home I'll upload a replay for you. It probably won't show actual fleet movements though since replays haven't been working in MP.
I agree. In no forum anywhere I've been to have I seen such lax moderators.
Actually, if you can just bar about 3 people from thread, this thread would be about 6 pages long. The biggest problem is the lack of ability for the OP to moderate the threads.
I think you will be stuck with SP replays. As far as I know, MP replays are broken since the release of v1.1. I would give you one, however, I don't play SP.
