Technically, a balanced fleet is where all combat ships take up the same amount of fleet capacity (i.e., 2 LRFs= 1 HC); this doesn't apply to support cruisers. However, in the real world, a balanced fleet is composed of counters to what the other player brings to the table. There is also the discusion of early, mid, and late game. In the late game, LRFs have much less of a purpose than they did early game because of their faility compared with HCs. LRFs do jack against
If you play random maps - sure, but that's why it's called a RANDOM MAP.
You didn't click on the threads I posted and read them, did you? If you did, and you still asked the question, then I don't think you got it, and no amount of explaining is going to make you get it. If you didn't click on the links and read them, maybe you should before posting crap like this. EDIT: In either case, you get -1 Karma.
Well I guess I am glad you posted here, because it seems my knowledge of the UNmodded game helped out the modders. Good luck to you.
My point was, is this is mod problem or a game problem? You are talking about the mod, but I don't know about the OP. Don't take it personally.
well i kinda agree with that but ima add one more cause its happened to me twice now. I hate it when my hw has only one phase lane and its to another players hw who has 3 phase lanes, thats happened to me once and another time my hw had one phase lane to a volc and the volc only had 2 phase lanes, one to my hw and the other to an eminies hw. I won the one battle where i was 1 jump from the others hw but that was with major feed. i lost the one that had the volc in it with major feed be
Yeah, I agree with all of this. Blair has stated he is working on #2, I believe he said it would be out when Entrenchment v1.0 goes gold. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/327283 https://forums.sinsofasolarempire
So maybe this post should be in the Modding portion of the forum?
(I think the old RA would give you unlimited fleet, despite what fleet level you had researched).
No, with the old RA, you had to still research fleet supply as well. It was amusing to look at the stats graph at the end of the game and you could immediately see who rushed RA. Basically, the guy wouldn't tech fleet supply until RA was up. From then on, it was an exponetial curve for fleet supply all the way up to max. Also, I would point out tha
Um...No. In v1.12, the charged missles auto-cast was fixed and for the FIRST TIME EVER it actually works. Let me repeat, IT WORKS NOW. Previous to v1.12, it was broken.
This pretty much breaks TWO ship classes for the Vasari... and
How so? If you don't like it, don't research it. It's that simple.
I wouldn't spend the extra money. The 6000+ has more clocks with lower heat. When the newer Phenoms come out and drop in price, then upgrade - to quad core. EDIT: BTW, TomsHardware did a review of the 7750 and if you notice, the 6000+ outperforms it in gaming. Here's the review: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/athlon-x2-phenom,2104.html Here's the Gaming Benchmarks:
It is right time to lock this thread.
Nah, if people are stupid enough to keep replying, then let them be trolled. It's fun to watch.
OK, let me repeat: NO MATTER WHO PAUSES THE GAME, ANYONE CAN UNPAUSE IT.
If your name is NOT Witchfire, please create your own thread and leave this one alone. Thank you.
I know you said you aren't a computer genius, but building your own computer is actually very easy. This game requires so little, the computer could cost less than $400, however, i don't know if you are including a monitor in this. Anyway, here is a cut as what you could get. I made it an AMD system as you can go cheap now, and you can upgrade to a better processor/ram later. The processor and video card I am recommending is better than I have now, and Sins runs great
My universal initial build order (for all factions, working on vasari right now) is like this: C extractor capship factory 2 x scout 2 x M extractor 2 x assault frig civlab
Don't do that with Vasari. 1 C Extractor, 1 cap factory, 5 scouts, 1 Weapons lab, 2 M extractor. If you aren't planning on pumping out the Assails right away, skip the weapons lab and build 3 more scouts. Trust me,
This is a retarded post. Anyone can UNPAUSE the game. And your settings should be have limited it to 10 pauses anyway. Moral of the story, you're spreading rumors about players that probably aren't true.
the reason they are protected so well in real life is because they are very important. losing one means you lose a whole lot of force-projection capability, as you are not just losing a ship, you are losing 200+ aircraft. even though a modern carrier could be sunk be a single WWII torpedo.
Last time I checked, an Nimitz-class carrier holds MAXimum of about 90 planes and 1 torpedo, even an advanced 21st century one, won't take it out (although if the damage control skill
Can I just stop all the complaining? One, all-carrier fleets are beatable. Second, Blair has stated that they are going to either increase the speed of the LFs and/or increase the damage % against carriers or slow down the carriers. So to those who don't know how to use LFs, it will be even more apparent in the next version.
Only one thing u can do, more carriers. Anyone telling you to build soemthing else fails at seeing the obvious. Yes light frigates can kill carriers, yes flak can kill strike craft, but that's all those ships can do. Carriers can kill almost everything else. So you can either have a fleet that is useless at anything but 1 thing, or you can have a fleet that can multitask.
Ignore this advice. Killing the carrier works and having flak means the carrier fleet will be
I don't think it is directly related, but as of the date of this post ( and my first time trying to get on multiplayer) it keeps saying i am disconnected from Ironclad Online... anyone know what might be going on?
Yeah, you need to download impulse (at impulsedriven.com), install impulse and update SoaSE to the latest version, which is currently v1.12.
When two opposing fleets meet and both fleets consist of one capital ship and 20 carriers each without any LRMs, it means something and I've been seeing more and more of it lately.
I generally don't build a lot of carriers unless the enemy is spamming LRFs or HCs. An all carrier fleet is EASILY countered.
