I agree there's good micro and bad micro. This one I am opposed to. I personally think it would be a more worth while fix if when you build support cruisers, the auto-attack is defualted to OFF. That makes sense to me.

I'm actually not hopeful. What would be the reward for learning to play the game better if the AI did the micro for you?

Actually, now that you mention it, try removing one of your video cards. I seem to remember something about SLI. Besides, it's not like this game needs SLI. Heck, I was playing this game with an integrated graphics processor (albeit the 780G chipset rocks) and I never had any problems.

I would like to point out that even though 3 cruiser carriers cost the same as a cap carrier, you can't jump cruiser carriers all over the map, whereas you can with the cap carrier. Caps make SC without AM, cruisers need AM to make SC, and jumping them everywhere sucks your AM dry.

Hm...overseers. The more I see them, the more I love them. Has anybody else noticed their heal range is almost twice that of a horoshiko. Overseer...FTW.

Hmmm...I have vista 64-bit. However, my computer spec is completely different: AMD 5200+, HD 4650 video card, built-in sounds card, and 8Gb of ram. (Once the Phenom II's come down below $200, I'll be upgrading).

Capital Carriers just don't have good DPS in the early game. Once they level up they get more squads, but a skilled player will already be knocking at your HW with cruiser carriers by the time that happens. For advent or vasari, their carrier caps have much better fleet support abilities and therefore, picking those caps as your SECOND cap isn't that bad. However, those races also have the best colonizer caps in the game, and most people chose those as their first caps.&nbsp
they have a lot more structure to kill...so I think the balance is very reasonable considering the cost outlay.
Eh, not really. Structures don't have shield mitigation, so you can't do a HP to HP comparison. The real benefit to static defense is that you don't need to further cripple your economy by increasing your fleet supply. Static defenses are strictly one time outlay's. Fleet supply is a continual pain in the butt.

The Sova has embargo, which steals a certain percent of income. Some players would quickly attack their enemies HW using the Sova and steal their income. Early game, this really cripples their income and you can build a lot more frigates. Anyway, in v1.1, they nerfed teh Sova so that the income stolen wasn't as much and it only lasts 1 min instead of the previous 2. Therefore, without receiving feed (recieving resources from your ally), this tactic doesnt really work a

That's pretty much what it is, a gamble. It's all a matter of beginning/mid/late game and whether it's a rush map or not. This question has been around since the beta, and it will never be answered.
Agent of Khamara: Would'nt they put YOU on this black-list if you just up and quit like that? And was'nt that Snoop guy that's in the list the one that was trying to warn others about a clan that constantly pauses the game for 90 mins if they are loosing? Why is he on the list? This blacklist thing is a bit scary. . .
Do I need to get a beating stick out??? MUST I REPEAT FOR THE THRID TIME. NO MATTER WHO PAUSES A GAME, ANYON
These people your blacklisting can simply create a new username and act like total pricks all over again. So theoreticaly you could have the same person 10 times on your list, thus rendering its effective potential useless.
While true, you won't be misled by a record that makes them look like a good player. For instance, BKsabath has a crazy number of wins, but sucks at team playing. He doesn't even talk to you. He'll be in the pocket, he'll go eco, an
Now I'm terrified to try a team game I'm sure I'll be "inept" my first several game. . . Better put me on that list in advance
That's not the point of this list. If your record is 0-0, tehn we expect you to suck. However, if you have 200 games under your belt, and still suck, people ought to know.
Overseers are great ships for keeping caps alive if microed and managed properly, but they are also higher in the tech tree and much more expensive than Hoshikos...but again, they need micro for best results since they are directional. Most players don't even get around to building them because it is so critical to field enough fighting ships.

HOSHIKOS!
Ok when was the last time you magically stacked these heals? Unless you did it manually, lining up your ships ahead of time, because it's not an INSTANT heal if the ship takes 20 seconds to turn. By then your target is DEAD.
20 seconds to turn? Wow, you computer must suck. Even without micro managing them, that's unheard of. Here's the secret to using the overseer: Click on all of your overseers and turn auto-attack to OFF. Whe
Are you saying that they quit games before they've been decided, dicking over their teammates
Yes. Even if you have "lost", it doesn't mean you can't help your team by putting up a really good defense or feeding them until your HW is vaporized.
For example, overseers are really terrible at healing because their healing ability is forward facing, so the ship must turn to face target.
Dude, overseers are better than horoshikos. Reason, they heal INSTANTLY and therefore they pretty much stack. Horoshiko's repair over time, so it is possible to deal more damage than they can repair. Not true with the overseer. I still think the guardians are awesome, but overseers are probably the second

This is a list of screennames on ICO that either are inept at being team players, are completely rude, won't quit after the game is clearly decided and just stays in it to make you spend an hour of your life spamming siege frigates, or incapable of finishing a game (i.e., disconnect, minidump, quit when they lose 1 of their many caps, etc). This list is by no means complete, so just list your blacklist in the thread and I will add as appropriate. In no specific order:
