The Ironic thing is that the Demigod universe is decidedly polytheistic, making this upgrade title INCREDIBLY vague.
Did this thread start out as a discussion ground for everyone's demigod ideas or did the OP just get super-hijacked? Anyway, basically I'd like to name another Demigod after a star, just to act as a kind of counterpoint to Regulus, Ideally it would be named either Fomalhaut, Aldebaran, or Antares, because those three stars, plus regulus, are/were hailed as the "Archangel Stars" in Astrological circles because around 3000 BC they marked the Solstices and Equinoxes. These four have also
As long as one can choose to go point-n-click OR go WASD, I see no problem.... just as long as the method of movement isn't forced
no it shouldn't be 50% more awesome. It should be 50% more awesome and 50% less wowzors.I said they should get a buff and debuff, not become better.I wasn't suggesting a demigod become better at the night or day, but DIFFERENT.Like you could have a class that is healer during the day, damage dealer during the night.
Oh, you see, I read it as if you had said Buffs OR debuffs.
I'd rather just the night and day thin add a visual aspect to the game, perhaps adding advantages and disadvantages based on visibility but not stuff like "The Werewolf is strengthened by the moonlight, granting him 50% more awesome" maybe this werewolf example just sees better in the dark than others, but that's it. Other than stuff like that, a night time map could have a lot of fun visual effects and strategies. I could just imagine half the map being set alight by the torchbearer, casting an
IT'd be neat if the Minotaurs got scared of you if you where pwning really hard. But that'd probably just make it easier. ;[
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the effect on certain general's units, depending on the unit, like those one autonomous looking fellows with crossbow arms probably are incapable of fear, but some of the more organic minions would probably run away in fear at the death of their bold commander.
Or highly inaccurate artillery
Maybe not full-on gore, but I'd like to see the battle field get a little bloodstained,My rook's hammer should end up being a little red, the general area around my torchbearer will probably be pure black.
I think everything will vary, I think the main variables affecting the way a certain demigod plays will break down like this: Generals- Size of army, strength of auras, reliance on units. Assassin- Survivability, single damage potential, Aoe dmg potential, DoT potential(ties into the other two, kind of). Not saying that those should be the only ways demigods will vary, but I think those'll be the mos readily visible ways in which they'll vary.

A helluva lot nicer than any other game devs I've ran into in my gaming experience
Also, I think the whole "Drawing skills by drawing them" might make the game a little biased to favor folks like me with my little Wacom Graphics tablet right here, Therefore, I would like skills like this :P
What I liked about the UT announcing was the pride with which it infused the player, it makes me think the makers of the game subconsciously were thinking about seeing how people would play with a big ego, plummeting so quickly from the summit they so skillfully reached. As soon as you get something like "MEGA KILL!" or "WICKED SIIICK" you feel fucking invincible, especially if you're in a small server it's the feeling of "I just killed between 1/3 of their whole team/their whole team w
Cruor Imbibo, Cruor apparently meaning blood in latin and Imbibo meaning drinker , so Cruor Imbibo meaning blood drinker. So one could probably use just that or make a play off of those (according to a free english to latin translator, some of it might be different when directly translated) As for the names being put forth in the first post, I'd say Count Nukekubi if the Vamp lord has a certain voodoo or tribal feel about him, if he's the cliche, pale-white skinned, black haired, Bl
Lol, at the end of the campaign John Comes/Scathis/The all-father's voice comes out of nowhere saying "YOU HAVE WON THE TOURNAMENT!" then the UT announcer screams "GAWWWWWD LIKE"
Oh...so is random an option? DO people see your chosen demigod in the lobby?
they should all be hard to play. But in limits, we dont want of it to be boring and too irritating. Simply make the game intense and skills that are worth mastering
basically what I was saying.
Obviously noobs should get pwned by the more experienced, and rightly so, (especially considering that if everything works out as it should, this wouldn't be a problem in ranked as noobs would face noobs at the bottom of the ladder while pros would fight other pros at the top.) But I don't think there should be certain 'pro' demigods, and 'noob' demigods. In that certain demigods would be harder to play effectively and would be crap unless in the hands of a seasoned vet. Rather, all dem
I never said i'd pick the same guy everytime, i just feel that if i stick to heroes i'm best with my enemy should not get an edge by going random. If the outcome of the match really matters why leave it to chance?
Are you saying people who random are stupid because they're leaving their fate to chance? Maybe they just don't give a fuck about the outcome of a match in a videogame. (no mean to put words in your mouth, just trying to clarify.
