This isn't a bad idea. The mission system is realistic in that more $ = more pirates. With the normal raids, one person bidding 250 credits can spawn 20+ pirate ships to attack. And they will stay until everything is dead. It seems far more realistic that they would leave if there's no more money to be gained. I don't care if throwing more money on bounty extends the raid length, so long as the damage pirates cause is proportional to the money spend on them.

Consoles may ironically doom themselves as their hardware becomes more and more advanced. Take the PS3 at launch; $600. Then you need a second controller, a memory card, and some games if you want it to actually do anything beyond play movies. A decent gaming PC, which can do many functions before you even install games on it, can be built for around the same price. Yes the prices on current gen consoles have come down, but what about next gen? You could

I get that part, but a boost to one cap ship and starbases is pretty small time compared to, say, the missile pact which benefits almost every Visari unit. As for it not working, reinstalling Diplomacy seems like the fastest way to fix things rather than do more troubleshooting.

I still don't get the beam pact. Every other pact has a significant benefit for at least one other race, but the beam pact seems to only really benefit Advent. Does it boost Visari bombing damage, or just the beams on their cap ships?

KlassenT kind of has it. Diplomacy features were not meant for locked 5v5 games. Sins in general was never meant for locked 5v5 games. If you are in the mindset that 5v5 is the only way to play, then yes there is no reason to use Diplomacy . Pacts, envoys, and pirate missions have MUCH more of impact on 2v2 and 3v3 where all players need to think about economy instead of just one or two people feeding the spammers. Sins was not meant to work this

Why that happened is certainly an interesting circumstance to ponder. Again, this is what happens in any unranked RTS play. Without a ranking and reputation to uphold, people will just troll and smurf until they succeed in driving out all the players who wanted to play a normal game. Since there's no rankings to maintain, there's nothing stopping people from making a new account once they become known assholes. Normally the

Hopefully it plays more like II than the newer versions. Just couldn't get into III and IV like II did. I know they need to add new stuff to keep people interested, but somewhere along the line they forgot the KISS rule IMO.

Both are too exploitable in large team games. If you could give ships, one player could spam ships and another spend on lots of upgrades. Then the ship spammer gives the other guy his ships and you have a fully upgraded fleet in half the time. Even worse with planets. An economy player could just develop planets while in no upkeep, then give away planets to the military spammers once they start running out of steam. They weren't dumb enough to di

Just a few minor issues my friend and I noticed during a game: -AI players send envoy ships to enemy planets in locked team games. -Advent AI still makes homing mines on most of their carriers. -Numerous Visari autocast abilities get used without checking if they're actually needed. ie Kortul weapon jam, the new envoy Nanomedice Outreach, Power Draining Nanities, etc. -Pirate seige ships, which I presume are their anti-starbase ships now with their long r
