As far as I know, missiles have a set travel distance where they travel to first then move towards their target. There is some variable either in the mesh for the ship or its entity that does that. So technically, using that you might be able to have missiles with an exit point on the side that fire in the forward arc. Just a guess there. Of course, the main advantage to missiles is that they have no set arcs due to the fact they can change course in mid-flight and are capable of rec

Cptkeyes, I'm sorry but it is hard to know what you are saying when you type a wall of text with no punctuation, bad grammar, and worse spelling. No offense, but..... And as far as I know CanadaMan is the mod leader so it was a valid question, it involving actual in-game usage of a unit, nothing model/texture based.

It's kinda hard to be called a station if you move and use slipspace drives. Basically, it's a mobile repair station, but that in itself makes it for all intents and purposes a very large ship. So, the Cradle will be built in a shipyard, because I think in Sins planetary structures are entity-bound to be immobile (damn hardcodes). CanadaMan, will the Cradles be usable as shields like in Fall of Reach? To do that they would need an Animosity-type ability. And meat shields should neve

Oh DANMAN, I almost forgot. The Kohr-Ah capitals and their spinning blades of doom need some work. The blades disappear and reappear while traveling, which is annoying to say the least. Sometimes they disappear right after being launched and we don't get to see the wonderful spinning they do (excellent piece of work that). Also, the Kohr-Ah need different models for their capitals. They all use the same model so if you have more than one you can't tell which is which by a glance, an

A single SMAC round can take out almost any Covenant ship in a single shot. Plus it massively outranges them. One SMAC can seriously devastate Covenant assault groups before they can close to firing distance. A SMAC does 1 shot every 5 seconds, a 1 shot = 1 kill. So in 25 seconds, you have 5 Covenant ships killed. That is a lot of Covenant firepower gone, and a lot of UNSC ships saved, allowing an effective counterattack. 2 SMACS will have 10 ships destroyed, and 3 = 15 Cov

No it wouldn't. DANMAN and his 7 Deadly Sins mod has 7 races, 4 custom I think. However, the capital ship names do need some work. And you need to edit the string file for the ships. Each capital ship has a certain stringID that the game looks up in the string file. What you need to do is match the new race's stringID to a custom string value in the string file. This is all speculation and slightly educated guesswork, however at this point its better than nothing.

If you want a completely new ship name, you have to rename the string value. So instead of "TDN Behemov" you would put something like "UNC Pillar Of Autumn", etc. UNC stands for United Nations Cruiser by the way. I personally want to see a GTD Galatea or GTD Bastion for the FS2 mod.
Also, the DarkAngel will fire using broadside attacks with all those cannons blazing. It will launch Phase Missle "torpedoes" from it's front launch tubes, and will fire a heavy gauss cannon ability from its main deck guns.
Sweet. Thanks. Oh, by the way the Rogues need phase missile research as well because currently I don't think their missiles phase through shields. In vanilla the Vasari's didn't phase either until you did at least one level of phase research. Do th

Hey DANMAN, got an ETA on the next BETA release of 2.0? Can't wait to see the Dark Angel in its full glory with all those cannons blazing. Will it be delivering broadsides or just firing one after the other? I certainly hope those frontal cannons perform as they are advertising right now with their massive size. Also, will you be adding in Dolynick's Stargate Ancients mod in as well? I kinda actually prefer them to your Atlantians.

Well, there was a Saturday Night Live thing involving something like that. All I can say is, hilarious it was.

That will be 7DS 2.0. Yes, it has come that far already. And sorry DEC, I haven't really heard much of the new tracks so I can't really say anything yet.

What about winning the war soundly? That would definitely increase allegiance, because people like hanging out with winners. Besides, they might decide that you want to conquer them next, and sidling up to you and being your friend might help them avoid that.

Well, I was just discussing the story and background of Starlancer, not any real history, predictions of the future, or wild speculations. Okay the whole massive "war in entire solar system in the year 20XX" thing at the end was massive speculation, however, given our history, chances are it will happen. And chances are it will be East vs. West, like all wars since then end of WWII. (Cold War, Vietnam War, Korean War, Iraq 1 and 2) Basically we in the West don't like those in the East, and t
I don't want to raise any hopes but I MIGHT do a mini-mod after the Marathon and the frigate get textured and all that. I'll probably wait until I have longswords as well though...
YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!

2,504 Replies 4,931,253 Views

Okay. Thanks for answering that. Question that is on everyone's mind still remains. When can we play with some of these new units in-game? Even a quick mini-release would sate our hunger. For awhile.....

Hey love the idea. Starlancer was a cool game, simply because I felt it was a fairly accurate representation of what will happen when we colonize space. I mean, the Coalition was made up of Russia, China, and all those pesky Arabs. Plus, the Alliance contained the U.S., Japan, England, France, and Germany. Does anyone think that us and Russia, China, and those pesky Arabs won't try and kill each other any time soon, even in space? Heck, space just gives us more resources and room to kill ea

That ship can't help but remind me of the Ahwassa from Forged Alliance, the Experimental Bomber that dropped a strategic warhead powerful enough to almost destroy a fully-upgraded Commander.
