Are you on a 64 bit OS? Please keep in mind that official support is handled through

Try closing Impulse and running the following file: http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/fix_registrations.reg Make sure to follow the link in Internet Explorer, as other web browsers will not handle the file type correctly. Once you follow the link, save the file and double click it to apply it. Then relaunch Impulse. You will need to re-login with your username/e-mail (either will work) and password.
That may not be the case. This post states that Stardock no longer supplies links, once you subscription expires.
This is true. We no longer provide archives for expired subs. The issue here is that you bought a subscription, not a standalone application. When the subscription expires, you lose access to updates. Because you tried to update to something you didn't have access to, the app was lost in what would have been a normal update had the
Also, what OS is this on?
I have to log on as admin for it to work otherwise as a standard user I just get a black screen after clicking apply.
A standard user would not have the permissions required to run DeskScapes. Most customization apps require admin access. For those with XP dream issues, what sort of hardware are you using? The hardware reqs for XP vs Vista/7 are a bit more strict.
How many icons are in the Fence? If you re-size it do all the icons fit on screen at the same time?
And of course single computer includes all OSes on that computer. However, multiple installs in a short period of time may trip activation counts, so try not to do a bunch of installs at the same time.
I use a document management program called PaperPort, which may have a special driver for viewing PDF thumbnails within that program. It doesn't affect PDF thumbnails in Windows explorer
If these are only generated in the app, then most likely this is not the issue, unless this app is set to open PDFs on your system, which may interfere with thumbnail generation.
Its just a shell replacement to use instead of the default windows "Explorer" shell. if you've never met any of the awesome shell replacements out there then you'd better google em and get acquainted.
That's what I figured, and this may be part of the issue you're seeing. Fences runs as a .dll that plugs into Explorer, and if you're running a different shell this may render Fences non-functional.
since it was a failing HDD that was causing the issue. stupid me, sorry stardock!
The important thing is now we know.
Do you have anything else that would modify explorer, or any security apps running?
Impulse wouldn't let me select 'show pre release versions'
What happened when you tried to enable this?
It may be you have a tabbed dock set to show in taskbar. Version 1.9 would be in position settings and for 2.0 it would be in accessibility settings.
Good call, hadn't though about that one (I tend to use zoomer docks myself)
KeepSafe is for 32 bit, and I wouldn't pick it up without learning if it was 64 bit compatible.
KeepSafe will actually work on 64 bit systems, but only for 32 bit apps.
For now this is the way to do it. Direct URL handling may be something that gets added in 2 if there's time.
duplicate post.
With 2 displays, a dock that I have configured on the left edge of the rightmost display, appears on the right edge of the leftmost display when the dock is auto-hidden. (I also have docks on the bottom and right edges of the rightmost display.)
This is a longstanding issue with ObjectDock. I'll ask Jeff and see if there are plans to address this for the final version of v2.
Are you creating shortcuts directly to the URL? Since the shortcut dock entries are meant for files in a Windows file system, they are not case sensitive. You might be able to set a link to this page as a favorite in IE and then point the shortcut on the dock at that.
Whenever I download multilingual games, like, for example, Osmos, the game's language is automatically set to German (which is my system language).
Change the system language to English.
If you just want to revert to the default boot screen on XP, simply delete the vidstub.sys file in C:\Windows\System32. Make sure to leave everything else alone though.
The drive/volume you're downloading to, is it formatted as FAT32 or NTFS?
So you're seeing an entry on the taskbar for the dock like you would a normal window? If this is the case I suggest uninstalling, rebooting the machine, and reinstalling.
What OS is this on?
verify installation doesn't always work on third party games
It's best to err on the side of it not working, as it is rare that it will. Verify should work on all Stardock titles though.
Is that a "it didn't work" smiley?
