I have to disagree that they would forget their own language. They store everything into Nanites. Theyd have access to the files and be able to teach their young their language. Or it might be instinctual, they pass inheriant things like language down through DNA. Could they have some kindof membrane that causes vibrations in the air. Like Morse Code.
I said that I changed my mind about them forgetting their own language, but

This used to be the first contact between the Trade Order and the Advent.
Harrison stumbled back in shock. All around him, the white-eyed creatures watched him silently.
I have now fleshed that out (just a little) so it is a full chapter. Chapter 2, part 2 is no longer Sins of a Solar Empire , but is now called Colonizable Planet Discovered . Enjoy. I'm going to bump down the other chapters to fit in all the oth

**************NEWS UPDATE********************* there will not be new chapters to Sinners for a while, as I am going to COMPLETELY rework my introduction to the Advent. Working through the various issues that have come up in the Vasari, TEC, and Advent history threads (take a look at 'em if you haven't yet), I was rereading the Advent lore when I realized what I had written was god-awful. I gave them a paragraph in my rush to introduce the TEC. They deserve several cha

Well keep in mind that the Vasari have been (if we agree they ARE) using this voice synthesizer for over 10,000 years. WAY over that, since that was the start of the exodus and the Empire had been going on for thousands of years (millions?) before that anyway. So while there might have been (and I think there was) a language the Vasari used to communicate with each other, I think they don't remember it now. Why would they? Everything they want to say is automatically understandable.</

I don't really think that we should be looking for human language comparisons for the Vasari. Even the quote of Blair above seem to follow my belief. The Vasari don't have a language that's close to any human language. Simple as that. The can communicate with little voice synthesizers implanted within them while they were young (maybe), but their language has no common roots with any Earth language. But for my idea of the voice synthesizers, remember the Vasari conquered hundreds if n
I highly doubt that the Advent would allow a person with high psionic powers to go untrained.quote] I wasn't saying they would be untrained, I was just using that as an example to show the difference between having a lot of power and knowing how to use that power. Sorry if you were confused. But the rest of that post I agree with.

no, they aren't the same thing. you could have an enormous amount of psionic energy, but you were never taught HOW to use that power, and so you're worthless except for the smallest of tasks. You can be extremely adept at working psionic flows, but you might not have a lot of power to work WITH. Clear differences. And that's a good question. i have to go out now, but i'll add my opinion when i get back.

well let's not forget natural ability. the Coalesci wouldn't be Coalesci just because they are so powerful (though that's defininitely a major factor) but also because they are so adept at manipulating psionic flows. So the requirements to become a Coalescence: 1. LARGE amount of PsiTech/psionic power 2. AMAZING ability at using PsiTech and i like the weight thing, that makes sense. and i just realized that the lore i put up here

Hmm true. Well maybe by next week the Vasari perspective will be done? I've been kind of busy doing real-life things so I haven't had a chance to get back to it for a few days. But if I don't get to it sooner than this weekend I'll definitely try to finish it then.
Well, Opulentsia has the root word of opulent, meaning rich, so I'm assuming that it is some private trading organization that refuses to fund the TEC...
I knew that, but Ryat and Allegiance already explained pretty much what I was thinking of. A rich group of territories which for some reason (could be any of those) are not part of the Trade Order, but still have a say in what the Trade Order does. I don't believe just
i understand were using the name nanites as a way to clearly equate all three races versions of the nanites to each other. But what would they be called when it comes to the Advent? surely all three races wouldnt come to the same name for these tools
psionic enhancers? just a thought
Also, I'd bet that due to their rigid caste system, that only members of each caste

I was playing as TEC and sometimes the Orgiv (the starbase attacking craft) attacks the strike craft hanger (prioritises it) if it is closer than the starbase (i think thats what causes it) when both are in the same gravity well. I think this is a bug?
im pretty sure the ogrov just attacks the nearest structure, starbase or otherwise. i'd recommend telling them to fire on th
