I found this out when I first started multipler games online (like C&C: red alert), what took you so long? The kind of game I like is not what is played by the vast majority of multiplayer people. We are not compatiable. If they play my way, they don't have fun. If I play their way I don't have fun. Since im the minority I don't get a lot of games made for me. Sadness. :(

I was thinking 'cool story bro', my self.
The whole "not playing the game" thing where its a mixture of cutsences and or tightly scripted hallways and waypoints does get annoying for people like me who really enjoy the open feel of Arma2 etc. Medal of Honour had the same problem and I expect every major FPS from big publishers to go down the same route. Its still fun, its just I always want to go and try something else rather than follow thier orders "OMG quick pickup that missile and blow up that! QUICK DUDE!!! OMG Q
is this /r/ now?
No, they never will be longer than a few hours. It was fun though - still a tightly scripted, hold my hand and follow the waypoint game of coruse.
I wonder what body replacers are out yet...
andsince it will be the best hack and slash game ever (I dunno, but hopefully) Diablo 3 Rippoff 1: The Quest for Blizzard's Sucssess Diablo 3 Rippoff 2: The Search for More Money Diablo 3 Rippoff 3: The last 7 failed but this format still works!
Yeah, like those nursery rimes that basically tell males they are worthless villians? Useful. And for balance; females to be helpless victims, nicely dressed attractive victims but still.
Indeed. This was a good thread, back in 2008 (its a necro). Too short really. Side snide note: Its a good job there are no perverted females on the planet, just males...
Hey, Ill buy that DLC, IF its worth the money (the vast majority are certainly not). Because of that I feel like they are going to try and nickle and dime everyone. "Want airports like in civ4? FOUR DOLLAR!!1!"
Lots of bugs got fixed but nothing much directly for multiplayer. I want map ping for a start and sharing of wonder bonuses.
Heavenfall has a good point, its obvious when you think about it. They want D3 to be bought by WoW players, D2 players, Titain Quest players, torchlight players (theres lots of overlap here but still) and every one else they can. Generally going with bright colours is a safe bet right now (brown is real can get your metacritic down a couple of percent atm).
1. Blizzard are the most overated developer in the history of games. They are riding on the laurels of their past successes. 2. Titan Quest (with expansion) is better than diablo. Only thing holding it back is lack of online servers 3. I hate the class selection, could you be any more generic and boring. It's either going to be a priest or an archer for the final reveal. (yawn) 4. Lets hope the remnants of the TQ team can bring something special with th
BTW I used a macro to switch skills on hotkeys in D2 so I played it like Warcraft anyway so its good they are getting with the program there. Anyway the whole 'dark vs blue' screen shot... The top one is like sooo EMO, its not cool and dark like Diablo 2 its just "black and white emo drawing from some emo girl". Its a totaly different team of course but I think I prefer the new art style (I can always go to deviantart to see that emo girl's artwork). Especially after s
Quoting Frogboy, reply 38Only this game will make me happy. No, only Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga (once it is released) shall be able to do that.
Meh.
Not to mention Catacylsm is capping at 85. OH NOES! ITS NOT TEN LEVELS!
MiniWarcraft, YAY! I happen to love Warcraft and Diablo 1 and 2 so yeah, biased. Mainly because of coop, ts very high on my "awesome future" list.
I think the first error is caused by using a mental ray material rather than a 'Standard' one. Bear in mind that script was written to support max 7 which is umm 6 versions or so before 2011 (I still use 2009).
Kotich? I just use him as the habinger of all that is bad. If Valve does something stupid I suspect Kortich. Infact Im like "you mad bro" when I think of Kolrith.
WoW was indeed an accident. Not even Blizzard knew it was going to become such a cashcow. Maybe there's only room for one mmo.
They knew it was going to be bigger than everquest, the game they based pretty much everything on. Practicaly "Everquest 2" really. Just they wanted to get rid of some of the dumbass stuff Verant did back then. What they did not realise is how many people though everquest was
Wow I can just imagine the meeting with the head man Kotick. The ranting and screaming about how much they spent only to make crap because it wasnt CoD. About how they were fit ONLY to make bad DLC that only fools buy. It would make a perfect "downfall" youtube.
Warhammer failed because it was a crap game (couple o good ideas sure, but crap game). Everyone seems to be under the impression that WoW was 'accidently' the biggest (real, not some asia grinder crap) MMO ever. As if half its customers are ready to up and leave at the drop of a worgens top hat! Fools.
The fact they ported in the first place supprised me (in a good way) but of course no one seems to care about PC anymore apart from Blizzard. I mean both the big pc strat (not RTS) games this year have been total faliures in multiplayer at least. Everything else seems to be a port (and the clear winners are Ubisoft consistently dilivering high quaility ports on PC - even with thier DRM) or a shoddy port. Only Blizzard has delivered tripple A quality on PC exclusive this year.
I dont like city spam simply because its so hard to manage, you know because most games can't do interfaces very well... If civ had a real city interface I would spam until the cows come home (I don't know why the cows arn't home tbh but whatever).
Its not realistic.
