Maybe try to uninstall through a utility such as Revo Uninstaller (it has a portable version) and run a cleaning utility such as CCleaner, then restart and re-imstall. But before that, I would try a system restore if that's available, preferably through a backup utility if you have one installed and backed-up. Win7 has one built in and I think it should be the best way to clean-ip a mess.

If you look for a free antivirus then Avast or Avira is your best choice (it has been this way for a very long time). There are mixed reviews about Windows security essentials, there was some hype about it (probably sponsored) but the last independent test I've read gave it 2.5 out of 5 for protectio

Yes, it's true for most add-ons, even though Stylish is quite different. It only apply some CSS instructions, this CSS code replaces the CSS that's styling Wincustomize in this case, not adding anything significant at all. When you don't surf Wincustomize, this code doesn't apply at all so you won't feel any change in Firefox's performance. Anyway, it doesn't matter, if you're happy from your setup - enjoy it. Thanks for the feedback anyway.

No problem Uvah, you're welcome anyway. This is a must have if you like dark themes and use some. It won't hurt your PC :) It's not a program, just a little add-on for Firefox that allows to style the WEB, if you'll get into it, you'll get hooked :) The main usability anyway is for people who like dark designs ( and for people that want to protect their eyes :)

UPDATE: The theme has been updated, following the new features and changes in Wincustomize. Get the theme here: http://userstyles.org/styles/25121 . You'll need to use Firefox and Stylish . <img src="http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/6184/

One last post about this subject (until there'll be some news from Stardock), I switched to Nexus after a long time of using OD happily. As I said, a dock without docklets is quite useless, Nexus is a great peace of software and has some very nice docklets. I prefer the SysStats system that is open-source, I made some docklets using it and it was fun and very useful experience. It's a shame that all this docklets and many other become redundant,

I did some research and got a reply from the developer of SysStats, he Open Sourced it a long time ago. So, the ball is in Stardock's ground, if Stardock likes to have an almost ready technology that worked great with OD in the past, the code is open. Please give me a serious reply from the development point of view, will OD have decent docklets? A dock without docklets is very un-attractive, if there are no plans for docklet support reall

Thanks very much for the reply ID! I'm going to contact the developer of SysStats. Just one free advice for Stardock, since OD suffers from a severe lack of docklets, specially comparing to Nexus, why not buy the SysStats technology that allows to easily develop all kinds of docklets and even better, it allows the users to develop very nice docklets even without knowledge of coding. I'm sure it'll be a good deal! Anyway, thanks and best regards. <

I finally upgraded to Win7 and thought I'll install OD2.0 (instead of OD1.9 that I have on the XP machine. So, it's nice, even though the only new feature I really recognize is the cool reflections (and very nice skins that come bundles). Today I realized a huge problem, definitely a regression that needs to be addressed. I installed SysStats in order to use my favorite docklets, mostly self made, such as CPU/RAM/Virtual memory, Network (live download and upload

Well, maybe Microsoft bought also NSS labs (I never heard of them anyway). It smells fishy to me. IE8 is safe? very safe to lough at it as Microsoft admitted very recently a huge hole in security that allows any website to install malware quietly (and no rush to fix it as admitted). Anyway, with every update of their browsers, Microsoft admit another huge security hole or more. Maybe it's not socially engineered malware, but it's malware all the same.(by the way, socially engi

UPDATE: Some minor bug fixes. If you're using it, you can update through Stylish or through this link: http://userstyles.org/styles/25121 If you're not using it, give it a try ... it's the only alternative theme for WC, very easy to install if you're using Firefox. You'll only need to install Stylish Add-on for Firefox that will allow you to skin various websites (Google, Facebook etc.)

Hi Uvah, Few tips: Never run a theme and persona together, it's not designed to work together and has severe bugs. Firefox Beta rocks!!! Enjoy it. If you have trouble, disable all add-ons, then enable them back slowly, see which one in the buggy one. Create a new profile and start again building your add-ons one by one. Let me know if you need Firefox debugging, I've been doing it with my themes for a while and I'll be happy to he

Uvah, there's definitely a bug on your system, probably an add-on that creates an error, I see small errors also in the Firefox Theme (no gradient on URLbar & SearchBar, that's a very rare bug that I've never seen before. I'm curious, what is the add-on that displays the "blocked 1 of 1" ? What does it block? Anyway, if you'll disable all add-ons & try, the bugs will be probably gone. Then you should enable them one by one & see which one c

UPDATE: Restyling of the header Login using a gradient that's made from pure code (on the upper-right corner of the screenshot). New use of a new capability of Firefox is the text glow effects that are applied in the title (as you can see in the screenshot) and as hover states for links. Feedback is welcome, give it a try if you're using Firefox and you'll see WC in a new way... If you're using the skin, you can check for updates through Stylish. Enjoy! <p

OK, is it sure that the oldest restore point was from a time before the"bug"? Some malwares can mess even with system restore. The question is,is it still alive? it looks like Avira did kill it as far as I understand. If it's not alive and you just want to try to repair the broken Windows, you can do a Repair using the Windows CD.

Hey, before wiping out anything, did I miss something or can it be that no one suggested the built in System Restore function? It's the first step, try to find a point in time that didn't have the Malware & restore the computer to this point of time. In XP, it's: Start/ All programs/ Accessories/ System Tools/ System restore >> Restore the computer to an earlier stage. Try to find a point in time in the list that you're computer worked fine & restor

UPDATE: A major re-design of the theme. A clean minimalistic look, more use of gradients & special text-glow effects for hover state. Here it is, hope you'll like the new style. To use the skin you'll need to install Stylish add on for Firefox from here - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108 Then to apply the style, just one click on "Install with Stylish" here -&

Hi Uvah, I noticed other oddities, the gradient is missing in the URLbar & Searchbar (You can see in my screenshots there's a gradient). It's not big deal but suggests some conflict in your system. About the quick launch button, that's part of the Windows theme, I would try to change it (but it looks like you're using the default Win7), maybe it's the cursor?. Try disabling all add-ons if the problem seems to be related to Firefox (then enable one by one to see which one c

Hi Uvah, Sure I don't mind you using the wall, if I understand which one I'll send it to zou in full size. Do zou mean the lava ball wall? The one that appears inside the emptz tab, right? The link I sent is to the Stzlish userstyle that'll put it in everz empty tab in the theme, try it... I notice some oddities in your screenshot, not just the missing part, something must be conflicting. Email me and we'll fix some bugs and I'll send you the wall in full size.<
