I suggest trying a Theme for Firefox, the Themes take over the skinning of Firefox and exclode WB anyway. Check out the Themes I created if you're interested: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/4710003 If you use one of this themes and have problems, I may be able to help through the code of the Theme, let me know on the support forum. Well...before reformatting...Have you considered using Firefox instead of the slow and dangerous IE8? Seems that the problem is IE related and it's a good chance to dump it for good and enjoy much faster and safer browsing! If you like to be even safer, you can install AdBlockPlus and No-Script add-ons (for Firefox) to stop malicious code. If that doesn't help, no need to give-up before you tried installing few free antivirus programs (but you'll have to uninstall the current
Another Update: I noticed the dark forum style (on the beta site) disappeared so I updated the Theme to include the forums. I also updated the code so it will work on the current site once it's updated so there won't be any problems when it happens (should be soon). Next update will be after the transition is made to the new site. Here's the link to download the Theme (requires Firefox and Stylish) - <a title="WinCustomize - Dark Theme" href="http://userstyles.
I don't understand what can be better in Win7 when it needs so much RAM to run and it's hardly customizable at all. My XP runs like a racing car, stripped from any unnecessary services, it only uses about 300mb RAM on startup (180mb virtual memory). I've never even updated it, all the false security fixes are unnecessary (just need a good security suite and to avoid using IE) The best tip I can give for a super-fast performance is to use a tool called XP antispy, it's

From my experience, it's mostly an overheating computer that behaves like that. You can verify it easily with a tool like SpeedFan.
I have a suggestion that may help in many cases when a software doesn't perform a clean install. Use the built in windows System-Restore to roll the computer back in time. Then try again and use the knowledge you gained in the forums. Go to Start/ All programs/ Accessories/ System tools/ System Tools/ System-Restore and see if there's a backup point just before the failed installation, normally Windows creates one automatically with every software install. Positive att
it's ready when it's ready
No problem with that, but why promise deadlines and then ignore them? That's the main reason people get frustrated.
and I don't really feel up to it.
I'm getting to the same point, Lack of response to my question(s) shows lack of respect and I'm not complaining, just asking for tech specs. I give up on this subject, bye bye.
Thanks for some transparency Frogboy. That's always a good thing in any relationship, business or personal. It's a fact that many people complain a lot about this upcoming release and the only way to improve their feelings is with open communication. The main thing I'd like to see, and I hope that's what you mean by guided tour, is a real feature list (free vs. plus). As a humble docklet developer I think that's really helpful to share some details. One question I've already asked about and n
I've also had problems with uploading before (a bit different but bugs are bugs...) Try this: when you upload, change the URL from upload2 into upload and proceed as usual Hope it helps Good luck!

Update - This one is quite significant, it took a lot of work to get done. I re-designed the Quick Reply section that was white in the original (dark) style. I don't know why it was white, probably another bug or forgotten section in the beta site, anyway it's fixed now. By the way, if you're already using Stylish, check out my other UserStyles here - http://userstyles.org/users/24480 <img
[Bug] I think it was mentioned before somewhere but anyway ... Please fix the forums so it will "remember" the selection of dark or light style. Thanks for the dark option anyway, it's really cool! [Request] Please update the front page sometimes, there's the same featured skin for about a month as far as I remember (with all the respect to this cool skin), it doesn't match with the featured skin on the old site. &nb
I agree with reply #37.
Me too, I was going to suggest the same thing
To be honest, I find the front page of the new WC too glary and hard on the eyes...
Check out my alternative dark style for WinCustomize ;) - https://forums.wincustomizetest.com/375710 It will help you eyes, that's sure. I don't understand why so many sites choose blinding white as background. Anyway with Firefox and Stylish it's possible to customize the look of any sit
Update: Tweaked few colors for overall better appearance.
Wow, that's a hot topic! Looks like people have a lot to say about the rating system. I have something to say too. I cannot vote and I find it a bit strange. Why not all the registered users can vote? Anyway, I contributed some of my work here, still I have no voting right. Not that I care much about it, but I care more about what the users of my skins think about my work. That's the most important feedback which isn't available to any creator here. It's a kind of elitistic system, we get fee
Thanks very much for the feedback I.R. ! I've made few themes for Firefox, latest one is BlackFox V1 which is matching with my WB ( BlackFox [XP] ) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/57531 If you're trying it, please try the userscript that puts a slideshow from space into the empty tabs - http://userstyles.org/styl
Thanks doc, Sorry for posting in the wrong place, I just couldn't read all that post, it's so long ... Seems like there's no fix yet :( Well...too many mouse-clicks but not so bad anyway :)
Update - Cleaned the login area, got rid of the dark gray area that got broken somehow. New download-button, The original one was green and didn't look good with the light text, Now it's glossy black as the other new buttons I made. Fix for light background on forum pop'up menu (when editing link for example)</p
Must say, that is much better. Love the glossy look you added.
Thanks ImStein! Happy you like it! More gloss on the way ...
Update - New image for the header and fix for the tab area so the original image shows and over-all much better look. http://userstyles.org/styles/25121
I.R.Brainiac, Thanks for the feedback, from you it means a lot!
Good to hear OldMsgt and thanks for the feedback. I'm hardly keeping up with the beta site since it keeps changing all the time. I guess I'll have to focus on it in the near future. I'm wondering how long will we have two sites anyway ... Please let me know any problems with it or any feedback about the style.
Does not work well in default Wincustomize the download button is smack in the middle of the star rating when you go to give a rating and cannot give a rating because of it See Image
Thanks for the feedback OldMsgt, I know the style isn't fully compatible with the default WC, it's designed for the beta site mainly. Anyway, I can try to solve it but the problem is I cannot vote anyway (I'm a simple citizen without voting privileges - Never liked it but that's how it goes
I have updated the theme, made new buttons for the articles page and fixed the quote image that was white(I made custom images for both). More updates in this direction are planned. Eventually I'll restyle all the images and the theme will be fully skinned. Download the Theme from Here <img src="http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/1986/quotebuttonf.jpg" alt="" width="
