Correction, most maps need to go in the galaxy folder where the game is installed at, rather than the user folder. This is generally something like C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\Sins of a Solar Empire.
Really? When putting in the users folder one, they just show up as another set. (Custom Maps, right after Large Scenarios when you press change maps.) Of course, I've never actually played the one map I have there. Does something not work right there? How many t
Very nice. I look forward to having an option for it to store more of my info ala iTunes (the iTunes app store should be a model for others). I want to be able to press a button and have my app.
Just be sure kids/strangers/wierdos/I'm aren't/not randomly pressing that button.
if you really want to see the planets orbit the sun then you should throw the game into 8x speed, (just press the + button a bunch). though they may move slowly, they do eventually move around the sun. but as i said, they move VERY slowly.
They certainly don't move for me. Even in 20 hour+ games. Are you just rotating the map accidentally? Happens to me all the time.
I need a mod for it? There's no in-game option?I'll check that out, then.Checked it, that's not what I want. I'm simply looking for a way to take decent screenshots by disabling the view of planets outside of the gravity well that I'm in.
Yeah, I don't know of an option you could do that easily. As for pointing you to wrong mod, my bad. Names aren't everything. Galactic UI v1.0b is the one I was thinking of. Other planets appear as somewhat bright dots whe

Carrier cruisers don't have an onboard weapon and rely entirely on other ships and their strike craft. Carrier capitals have decent weapons, more strike craft, and abilities that vary by faction. Strike craft overall seem to be getting a boost in the next patch, with carrier cruisers faring a bit better.

itsmevic, I haven't seen anybody half as nice and patient as Monk on the internet at all. I've already seen well more than a dozen posts that were answered in detail. Often the same thing over and over again. Thing is, this should never have been posted again when there was a ready answer for you, and it's framed as a non-constructive criticism.

Might be possible to change starting money for a certain player in Galaxy Forge, but I'm not sure. Don't think you can change speed for one person, unless you change it for a faction and are the only one to use that faction.
Can someone tell me if these mods have a impact on FPS? I'd rather have not as pretty and smooth, than the other way around.
As I understand, most of the mods try to use the same amount of graphical assets as vanilla Sins. So there really shouldn't be much of a performance drop, if at all.
