It's useful to spend money on bounty though if the fleet that's supposed to be defending against the pirates is tied up elsewhere. Or if you attack an enemy in conjunction with the pirates you can force them to split their forces.

Ran into a funny little bug/glitch today while messing around with a new mod. The phase jump worked fine everytime except once. My Jarun Migrator was sent to colonize an asteroid while my fleet moved to the next. Instead of charging up it's Phase drive it flew... all the way... 10 minutes later I'm wondering why it isn't colonizing, as it was showing up in the sidebar of the asteroid I sent it to. zoom in and double tap it's number and it's halfway between the planet and asteroid following th

Same here, spam rushes anyone can do. I'm not sure how I'll do against an unfair, but I held one off once while my friend blasted them apart with an entire solar system of novaliths lol. Anyway yeah, I'm up for anything, pretty much anytime.
I gotta aggree with Annatar. These guys go out of their way to give us overwhelming support no matter the issues we have with the game. Also, how often do you actually get to chat and joke around with developers and such. It's like Omigosh! real people! Did the world end and no one tell me?! lol Anyway they definitely have my nomination.
I'm new to multiplayer too, I'll start out with you if you want. What were you thinking for starters? Comp stomp? 1v1? team MP match?
So... is there an 'open fleet' command where the ships are not fixed to their fleet formation and will move on the selected target by the most efficient means and engage that target once in range?
I haven't actually tried it, but I imagine setting the formation to "loose" would make it so the ships can engage targets sooner since it shouldn't take so much time to form up.
I'm having the same problem with the poll, but firefox wouldn't let me upload any pics here either. Had to go back to internet explorer for all the tabs and stuff to work. edit: just tried it on Internet explorer, still can't vote, but did get the upload pics tabs in "My Account" to work using internet explorer.
I normally just save it for when an enemy fleet jumps to a lightly defended planet (I keep a phase stabilizer at each one I own) and then instant defence force. If it's not enough just use another and send them over from wherever they are.
I've noticed with fleets that when giving orders the flagship will carry out the order with the rest trying to form up instead of keeping pace. So when an attack order is given the flagship moves to attack position but the rest of the fleet won't really do anything until they have formed up on the flagship again, after that they seem to act like they should, such as attacking sturctures, enemy ships, bombing planets or w/e.
Silly Advent and their shields, phase missles ftw. Sorry haven't had to deal with that problem really, especially as TEC, but as Vasari the fully upgraded missles seem to work just fine [e digicons][/e]
It does not make sense sometimes that your allies wont help in a battle because their allies are attacking you.
Actually I find that makes it interesting and helps add to the name of the game. "Oh yeah, we're best friends being allies and all" "What? Help you? Actually... we like the other empire better and were planning on stabbing you in the back anyway, so..." The diplomacy tree as is can add some good depth to the
I just turn the autocast off when leaving a grav well, seems to work fine.
I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed the writing on the Kol's shields. I think it's pretty funny lol. I just realized I should expand a bit more on this. My Kol was defending my home world from pirates at the first attack of the game. When their flak frigate shot at them and "lit up" their shields it had writing on it. I couldn't make out all of it, but I'm sure I saw Sins of a Solar Empire and the logo for it lol. Pretty awesome, funny, and weird all at once. Whomever put
Lol you're welcome. Just trying to be helpful. I may not be a modder but I do have the fleets and their abilities memorized lol.
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but the Vasari have an ability to clone ships. I believe the Skirantra Carrier level 6 ability (not totally sure on that). Good luck with whatever you're up to lol.
Hey guys, just gotta say i LOVE your mod. It's the most enjoyable trek game I've played so far. I wish you good luck in completing the mod to your hopes. Keep up the great work, we're behind you all the way. PS. Your mod made it into PC Gamer along with info about the new expansions lol.
Personally I like the defense structures as they are. You can use them to help fortify a few choice buildings but can't rely entirely on them alone for defense of a gravity well. As for turtling not being a strategy in this game due to comparatively weak defenses compared to other RTSs, it still is. Capital ships with a support fleet backed by some hangar defenses, repair bays, and a few turrets can still decimate a superior sized fleet. I've done it. The fleet is a viable option for d
