Your answer regarding a possible refinery upgrade for the Orky makes sense. I should have thought about it more.
Makes sense. Heavy or Medium armor.
LRMs already counter medium armour. Making already strong LRMs counter something else might be too much. On the other hand, assualt cruisers aren't direct combat units so I guess that this doesn't matter.

Lowest cost efficiency for kanraks and HCs, plus meh subverters, meh overseers meh everything. Only Orkys, flak, the Egg and phase missiles are actually decent. Agreed with just about everything (didn't read all though). Some ideas for changes sound too big, and simpler solutions sre possible, but sometimes there aren't any simpler solutions. Pinpoint Bombardment should have NO prerequisites OR it shoud be a "side branch upgrade" for the fisrt or seconf pulse gun upgrade. Or have range bonus doubled as Kitkun said.
wraping an explosive mine with a disabling mine all in one is not very practical, what's the point of dissabling a ship if it's gonna blow up
It isn't necassarily going to blow something up. It would slow down and damage caps, but not kill them, same goes for HCs, flak, carriers etc. Also, the grav effect may be AOE so that a ship thats sets off a mine slows down nearby ships. Anyway, I don't think suction mines would automatically be OP, but the radius would ne
360 degrees instant 250 health + 2 armor?hell no.
Agreed. This is too strong as it would make effective focus firing extremely difficult if not impossible AND it would require no micro at all.
Making an 8-mil SB is stupid, when you have no Enf Loyalty, no trade, no colony pods. The starbase floats, yeah, but it's retardedly slow. It doesn't matter how good you make grav-mines, no one will use them because why would you slow down the enemy when you can destroy him with what you already have? Unless grav-mines are super cheap compared to explosive mines and you running short of cash I can see a point, but yo

There is no real reason to give Ruiners a SC squad or weapons. The point of having a mine layer cruiser as opposed to building them is mobility so I think that the Ruiner should be faster.
Maybe by moving grav mines down the tech tree and giving them a boost, or reducing the vulnerability time when their first deployed to give them an offensive application, or maybe even reducing their minelaying cooldown time so they can be deployed faster. quote] There is no reason wh
I think this time shuold be shortened for Vasari mines, to somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds
Agreed.
the Ruiner would be a heavily overpriced, weaker counterpart of HC, but it would still be somewhat capable in combat. It would have medium armor, so LFs would hard-counter it. That would give LFs another purpose. It would have anti light damage, so it would be yet another LRM counter. It wouldn't be a good counter, though, being very expensive a
really reapair bays are not the orks enemy in sins. because you can fire at multiple targest the AM on the repair bays will run out very quickly then all you need to do is take out the SB.
Thats why I think that this guy was a hacker. He repaired his SB too quickly for me to even damage it. Based on this experience I thought that the Orky was weak against structures.
Juletron I'm curious as to why you say nay to fixing homing mines.
That was a mistake. I got the order for yays and nays mixed up. *facepalm* [e digicons];P[/e] Recount my vote. I've also changed my mind about a couple of things. Increase damage? yay (only a small increase so that clearing them with suicidal flak is slightly harder) Increase damage radius? nay Increase activation radius? nay Increase mines per squad

Hence my point that the human brain is very very mysterious. Some people born without limbs have the sensation that they have have limbs. They even feel pain in the fictional appendages. These people have to unlearn the presence of these limbs. Weird.
i'm guessing you didn't have weapon upgrades on the orky....repair bays can only do 40/sec max so it should go down if slowly.
I did have a couple of weapon upgrades, but that isn't the point. Even without weapon upgrades an Orky should be able to destroy a metal extractor! They only cost 250 credits and a repair bay 400 credits and how much does an Orky cost without weapon upgrades? A whole lot more then both structures combined. In the same game of MP I attack

What really irritates me is the fact that a few TEC repair bays can repair any structure faster then an Orky can destroy them. One time, I could not even get a metal extractor below half health with an Orky attacking it because the repair bays are so good. I don't think that repair bays are OP, only that the Orky does miserably low damage to structures.
It's also probable that they thought of this while developing entrenchment and couldn't get it to function properly, so decided to do without it.
The Devs didn't put stealthy mines in Entrenchment as it screwed up the gameplay. Searching for mines was extremely time consuming and game pace slowed to a drag. I'm sure that they did manage to get it to work, but it was for game play reasons that they didn't use it. Anyway, mines do need some love and the mines that

Nerfing the Orky would be a very bad idea. If it can't build very quickly inside enemy grav-wells then what can it do? Nothing! It would become useless. The Orky is an offensive SB that kills stuff. If it isn't good at that, then it isn't good at anything. I haven't used Charged missiles in along time so I forgot about the reduced turning speed. In any case, the auto-casting AI needs to be improved. Dominas need some love and its very annoying when the Egg uses gravity warhead on a ship that isn't moving or phase-jumping.
