Gosh, people see something they don't like or understand, make ZERO effort to find out what's going on, and immediately begin to panic. This is why the Dark Ages happened.
Ironically, that's pretty much why the Dark Ages ended ;)

I hope they start using the same rules for custom as premade. I also hope that a faction editor will be back. It seemed that features were enabled and disabled throughout Beta, so it shouldn't reflect what's going to be in the game. But, I have no inside knowledge.

Lol, wasn't meant to be a guilt trip. Just thought it odd that someone would consider playing an early version of the game as ruining the experience, when they've already played an early version of (parts of) the game. Guess that doesn't apply to you in this case :)
It'll still be a couple of hours. Bear in mind we're between gold and day 0 so we're having to put this stuff together. We weren't even planning on being here today.
Thanks for the work. It's just a little frustrating. I was especially hopeful to get some Elemental time coming in today, since my weekday schedule is stuffed full of crud I don't want to do, starting about about 5pm tonight.

There are no winners when you have a game this tough: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/593645/player/20542/

I wouldn't call rts' alternate bases a real opportunity to make a comeback, unless your opponent is seriously suck, or it's some weird game that has rules I've never heard of. Likewise, I wouldn't call fps' changing of locations a promotion of comebacks. It's just to reduce exploiting spawn kills. The healing crystal in itself helps the underdog team, since they are usually closer to it and able to heal better. I agree it's tough to make comebacks in DG, but

Sounds good, except I think the metagame domination goes to the other team, and not to the regulus players. I don't think they can one shot, only cull weak players, and I don't think an occasional kill (which they will get more of if they are good, definately) and the occasional making someone run back to base/use a healing potion are going to give them the stopping power against a team that is built to counter them. And, all things being equal, you have to assume that a highly organi

Sedna is strong against some DG and weak against others. She's a natural counter to Erebus, which is just fine. Erebus is strong enough against others, even with the bite nerf.
Initial kills will give the reg team the edge, 1500dmg from level 1 is istakill for most demigod that are not 100% healed
No, that's not true. First off, 1500 damage if crap if everyone gets + 1200 from items, second, don't get that freaking low on health.
They don't need to expose themself, they just need to harrass and stay close
Quoting Sinzer, reply 3 If the other team is all Reg, then simply take Blood of the Fallen and Banded Armour at the start, even if you got hit by 5 snipes in a row you would still be alive. 300 or so times 5 at level 1 = 1500 DMG, you would still have 700 left or so. They got a 30 second time before they can launch another strike. Assuming they can level high eno

First, I think scarabuz is someone else in disguise, maybe OP. Second, the amt of towers is personal preference. I don't find it overbearing since they are so weak. Third, low level creeps are not really part of the gameplay. Splash damage is not dependent on any upgrades and hits DGs and creeps together.
Jeez. Creeps are already crucial. They generate most of your experience and deal damage to structures. They heal you. They pressure the enemy and prevent them from healing. They light up the map and show you where your enemy is. Just because you don't see all the value in the creeps doesnt mean they need to change. How much more crucial do you want them to be? If they are any more important this game will be a
i'll second that notion. Tower Damage upgrade 1 is extremely important. towers don't do AoE damage at all without it. but with it they hit multiple targets at a time. helps even 1 lonely tower fight off a creep wave without taking much damage. more important still is it largely prevents a DG from using creeps to screen tower shots so he can go whack at it while it only targets grunts. if its got AoE it will hit the DG while it kills off the grun

I'm a fan of both DotA and DG, but I'm seeing mostly a series of bad ideas here. The viewpoint of OP is that DotA is the pinnacle of gaming, and the best something like DG can do is hope to emulate it. DG does not need to try to be like DotA anymore than it already is, and should try to forge its own path. Point by point: Denies and last-hitting of creeps are not needed in DG. The play of DG focuses on moving around and trying to control the map, which would be over-complicate
In a 5vs5 is not that easy because 5 snipes in a row can kill most dg from the start. How do you counter it? Even if they are not in voice they can do it just fine, one manage the target and write down "rook" or "erebus" in chat and everyone just snipe = kill.
Well, first off if this comes up EVERYONE should be getting 800 hp favor item and 400 hp item, along with healing potions.

The passive abilities seem particularly strong, especially post level 15. Would have greatest passive damage increase and armor to boot, with extra money to get artifacts.

easily counterable, just like all the other crap that people are saying is OP atm. Only viable complaint imo has been about flag locks, but it will be awhile before the playerbase gets good enough to make their use commonplace.
You can, in fact, view the game's LUA files and see the abilities of one of the new demigods, Oculus. Oculus can dim the enemies sight, cause creeps to suicide, become almost invincible to towers, spend almost no mana for troops, and spawn eyes which can scout and shoot lasers.
I'm not sure that DG idea is golden though.
Dota has a horrible community. Also when I played it I could completely bash out the enemy until he got some item that made him pretty much impossible to kill. So I wouldn't call dota a game where you need skill. You just need to know what items to get and you'll win anyway.
If you think you can win just by getting the right items then you just don't know how to play DotA.
