But i'm sorry if i like it and you dont. I play casually, with not alot of time, usually only an hour or so a day. So my games are stretched out over days. I save when my hour is up and go on about the rest of my life with what i have t
Turning on and off the ability seems like a much better idea rather than just a constantly on passive one. On a second note, how about giving colony ships radation scrubbing abilities? Everyone could have them and it would only work if the colony ship was a certain distance away from the world.
I like that idea alot! it would also be interesting in that it adds more depth to the ships in their abilities
:) you too... :) -T
As N3rull and Annatar have pointed out, phase missiles are good. The reason you are not seeing ships die with their shields up is that for a regular target, shield penetration is not high enough to kill the hull before the shields are gone, but make no mistake, that shield penetration is working for you in the background to effectively kill the ship faster than it would without it because when shots bypass shields, they are bypassing mitigation
:) You should see it! Just to see Jackie Chan and Chow Yun Fat. :) And the girl that talks in third person. :) Haha, i remembered that, and the in-game dialog of the Advent. "We shall overcome!" and i had to make the change, and the eyes, to white. Just to keep it SoaSE! :) -T
:) :) Yes love them!! [e digicons]|-)[/e]
:) Thank you Justin, :) Hope it is still interesting, even for a parcel of persons kind of story, but not everyone is into that. But thank you. :) -Teal hmm.... small edit time, something just came to me, a small inspiration. I hope it is interesting. I cannot claim it though, has anyone seen "The Forbidden Kingdom" ? Wonderful romp through martial arts and legendary magicians. :) -t
Ah... will read that. :) thank you! -T
Actually its just my opinion, because this has happened to me too, i have 1.05, but it is COOL! I like it. It is different than just sitting horizontal all the time. :) Or in the well all the time. Just my opinion though. If its possible, can we keep it? Or at least make it a choice? Haha, i may have to keep an old unpatched copy around just to keep it. :) -Teal
:) Still secret... but we are trying to figure it out too. -Teal
Ahhh... thank you. :) Appreciate the help. -Teal
No need to be sorry Snazzed, you are fine, and as for opinions about playing the game, you are entitled as much as anyone. I tried the changed specs and had some difficulties, but hey, thats just me. I posted about it above. Also, after that i changed the specs again, this time only a third down instead of all the way to half down. It plays much better, not running all over other ships. Also lighter backgrounds helped see better for me, and a slight pull out from all the way zoomed in
I have a short story i am working on and wanted to post the first part of it. But didnt know if i should post it in general , or off-topic or where. It is a 'Sins' short story, so i thought it really isnt off topic, but still, it is a story, and not ... you know.. talking about how to do this or that in the game. Any help would be appreciated. Then i can post it, and see if its any good. :) I hope. Thank you, -Teal
I use the new Norton 2009 internet suite, it is very lite on resources and is very well rated. What is also very nice, is that it does its job and isnt constantly nagging at me. :) It know how to do what it does and is very nice. Its not free, but a trial on line will run for 15 days. I like it alot. Oh... also, there are 2008 versions promoted by BankAmerica online that are free to use. :) But you will need to make sure your system is modern as the 2008 version does tend to slow
:) -Teal haha, this is great, a smiley festival!! :)
Let me know how it goes, it will be interesting to try it out. :) -Teal
Ahhh... got the hang of importing ships and things into the maps. :) Yay!! but still have to finish reading your map SemazRalan!! Thank you!! -Teal
:) I was playing a little in 7DS last night and made up a special ops ship (secret, cant tell you yet, but its an advent design on the blackhole generator that was found on Altairan, after the Vasari wiped out that colony, but then moved on. Refugees have been move in-system by the Advent and Tec, but the generator was uncovered by the Advent) :) I thought it would be nice to use a "different" model, as most of my "adjusted" ships now use current models, anyway, the mod-tool you
This is an edit of my previous edit, haha, silly, anyway, i re-checked the mini mod 2.0 and it does have the frigate capitals, so i guess i was wrong when i thought i left it out. Anyway, just wanted everyone to know. Also, the mini mods have now been posted to the Sins Wincustomize forum. :) Happy Days!! the Wincustomize site is much simpler and prettier to use, in my opinion than file front. Anyway, take care and keep modding!! I'm working on some new things
You can get the free and bit-more-barebones version of XSI here: http://www.softimage.com/products/modtool/ It's basically designed for modders to do their thing and it works pretty well. It's missing some advanced features, but should still be everything you need to learn modeling. There are some video tutorials and such for it, as well. That said, the Sins files are converted from the XSI format into Sins' own .mesh. The XS
Nah, you didn't offend I was just pointing out that there was one team that pretty much shared most tasks
:) Okie :) Take care, -Teal
Ahhh... i am sorry, i didnt mean different companies, i just thought if there were like 9 people, 3 people did art, 1 did files, one did business and two did marketing, that sort of thing. I meant if you were working on the research and called them lingering presence, i might be doing the files and you tell me, "Teal, im working on this research where the advent scout gets killed in a grav well, but well... we're going to have a "view" ability for that event for that well for a little while a
You'd have to do this on the model itself. One of the tutorial PDFs teaches how to get models ready for conversion and setting up the firing points and such, so this would be the reverse. Someone said at some point that there was a plugin for 3d Studio Max that let it open the Sins .mesh files so you could mess around with them, but otherwise there's no conversion proggy from .mesh to whatever format XSI uses (the program used on all the Sins mode
I suppose of course one would have to change the models as well so the weapon points match up with the pictures. But didnt know if it was possible to add more or to change them from their existing locations to other locations, say double mounted guns on the wings of the advent scout instead of single mounted? Anyway, just a thought. -Teal I will have to fire up the developer.exe and open a file and see what it looks like, maybe then i can answer my own question. Sorry to bothe
