I built a map with 280 planets and 24 stars. Lagged like hell about mid-game, and that's with "Small fleet sizes." 64 bit procs have been around for 12 years. :| Still don't really understand why Ironclad is so far behind the times...

Haha, that was my next question. Its active but you cant target anything with it.
One thing I'm curious about: "Colonizable Gas Giant" "Gas Giants are not colonizable" ...so which is it?
Your mod is amazing. I love the random stuff. The ancient artifacts that orbit planets, and I really dig the doubling of artifacts you can find. Your mod would be absolutely perfect mixed with DS. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they are not compatible.
I've run into this so much. IRRITATING. Derp, I just got to the retreat site. Derp. Wait, where's my flagship? Herp. I'll just jump back to it, ignoring orders. Derp? Was that the flagship I just passed in phase space? HERKADERKA! OH FU--
Marza Dreadnaught x3. Goodbye entire stolen frigate fleet.
Still auto minidump with the blob.old thing.
FIRE MAIN GUN AT THAT STARBASE! *BOOM* OH HEY! A SIEGE FRIGATE! *Turns to attack while the starbase destroys the fleet*
Probably But then it wouldn't shoot anything.
I want to throw in a small detail. Playing Distant Stars, if you are keeping up fairly well with your research for military upgrades, and you first boost primarily power surge on the Kortul, set it to automatically pick skills from that point and then you send it randomly around the map and ignore it you'll come back and find a level 10 Kortul while everyone else is still running around with level 4. That may be a Distant Stars balance issue, but from what I
SAME problem.
Exactly it. Joining THAT thread then.
I get as far as "Rebellion Loading" And it crashes. Known issue? I just downloaded the updated beta. Like... 10 minutes ago.
I want a refund on a car because it wasn't tested on roads made out of glass.
Thanks. I think I'll just wait until my G74 when I reinstall, then wait for the full release of rebellion.
On bigger maps I make 10 of each lab just incase something like that happens. When this bug occurred, I had 12 of each.
Was curious to see if anybody had done a pre-rebellion faction mod for diplomacy. Like the last part of the intro movie to rebellion where you see Tec, Advent, and Vasari all together. It'd be cool to play a mixed faction of rebels.
I built four kosturas. No problems. I built a fifth. All five Kosturas only had "stop" command. No cooldown showing or anything. Just inanimate objects with a stop button. I scuttled the fifth. The other four started working. I fired them. Came back to them later. Now none of the four will fire. I scuttled one. The remaining three can now fire. Awful expensive ....
I'm sure everybody has this problem, because its been an annoyance since I purchased the game years ago. You have a fleet of four to five capital ships and screen and you jump to a neighboring planet. Rather than all jumping at once, they all seem intent on using the "single file" method to go through. Yet, they come out in formation on the other side, for the most part. If you have 8 capital ships, they run into each other, get confused and jump late. If you're
So, when I am done with a game that's taking time to complete and I don't have time to do it I just hit pause and go do my other stuff be it homework, class, sleep, work, etc. Well... apparently I forgot to hit the pause button last night before I headed off to sleep. Playing my Lagrange Warfare map--a challenge in and of itself. I picked it up at about 1pm today, and hit pause/break. Except it said "game paused." All I have left is a mili

Sword of the Stars already did Von Neuman machines iirc.
Kostura Cannon needs a longer phase node effect, or fleet cohesion needs improved. Seems that all it takes is for one or two of your capital ships to get confused by the swarm to not make it in time, so all of your frigates and cruisers go in without major support, resulting in a loss.
This game is still sweet looking.
I see. Well I know everybody's complained about it not being x64, myself included. I just wasn't aware of any other details. What I find ironic is that gameplay is so dramatically hindered by the 32bit limit that sometimes I've wondered why I still play it. I guess that its replay value is that good. Honestly, they could build an x64 engine, use everything from Sins, repackage the game as Sins 2, change no graphics, and I wo
