John Shafer said in a recently interview that a large army in Civ V would be around 30 units, whereas it used to be 100+ units in Civ 4. They aren't going to make you manage an insane amount of units because you don't need to anymore.
And yet I heard this game was more focused on combat than the games were previously. I am not sure what that means exactly, but a 1000 turns of war after war is not really wha

Games aren't monogamous relationships, you can guiltlessly enjoy more than one at a time!
Yeah I don't know why there is a vs. mentality in general. I loved MoM, and I really enjoyed AoW, MOO and if everything told me I had to pick a side, I'd tell them to take a hike. AoW was great multiplayer too. On the Civ 5 vs Elemental front, well they
Quoting wayninja, reply 83 No, Multiplayer is not really subjective. Unless you feel you do have it. I'm not sure how you can simply 'let that slide' as it were. And that would be assuming all other aspects are gravy. Which, let's be honest here, they are not. A score greater than 5 would make me not trust gamespot ever again, and 4 is more than fair. 4 = 'poor', which seems right

Cover it up, leave it at the bottom, and build a new one. Ideally with real testing this time. <

Gamespot frequently gives niche type games 6 or 7, and these are games that work well and are fairly clean but cater to such a small population most players aren't going to like it, including the reviewer. There are several series this happens to, Settlers is an example which often got penalized for things fans actually like about the series, very slow gameplay.Other niche games, Rollercoaster original, get high because they are niche AND they are outstanding. So Elemental is a niche game that
When they said they were not going to do much with MP just yet, this is where I thought we would start. Just SP with human players and then work from there.

CIV III towards endgame became more and more boring with micromanagement and very slow performance. The maintenance/corruption model was hopless too.
I'm more with Tridus on this one. You posted an example of two games one of which did you even play? I don't think it's a requirement for a review site to only give me reviews that I agree with, especially when there are certain series people will dismiss by the "cover"
Quoting Nesrie, reply 2 I don't think they flipped the switch to ON yet either. I really hope they flip that switch soon, I bought this for the multiplayer. I would appreciate it, very much so, if you would come back though once they turn MP on and give some feedback since I followed Brad's advice and held off for now.
I don't agree with the subscription model at all for Elemental - I expect the game to be fixed and refined over the course of the following months to meet their original design goals. DLC is not a bad thing WHEN DONE RIGHT. Yes, companies get greedy and treat people like shit, trying to sell a few maps for $15 dollars, or a couple of new items for $2. But it can be done right and can be a plus for both the developers and the customer
I don't know why Stardock doesn't just give us a list. I asked for it before, a list of multiplayer features in the game now, and a list of features that are coming and when. Nothing. I don't think they flipped the switch to ON yet either.

They are full of trolls who, after being disappointed for one reason or other, blow the whole issue way out of proportion. I see your point, but I think this would work against Elemental. I am waiting for Stardock to clean up the game, for free. Then I will look for feedback on these forums, and others, to see if that plan actually works at which point I will presumably purchase the game. MMOs, while they do offer constant updates and content for the sub price, I will never call what they do "free", they're also hosting thousands sometimes millions of customers on their servers and providing, hopefully, quality c

LOTRO isn't that bad. If anything it's just not "hardcore" as the death penalty is pretty low to the point no one cares if they die really, and there is a lot of solo play available making ad-hoc groups difficult to form and even more difficult to sustain. It's not a bad game though. I enjoy it for just under a year myself, and I love the Sims! The Sims is still so unique and fills a certain niche I thought for sure someone else might try to do, maybe with a little less kid friendly focus. Oh

I enjoyed MoM, a lot. As in played for days on end. Bad AI or not, it was just fun. Sometimes its not about the mechanics but the whole package.
I would think fans would enjoy the 1up review. He gives it a C+ rating when his words, what he actually wrote, is clearly something more like D, not much good to say at all. I don't think the reviewers have special copies. If they bother to mention multiplayer at all, the other reviewers have mentioned it doesn't work right now.
