Only one person is playing at a time. That's how terrible I think that "game" mode is. That "Game mode" is called "Turn Based". You know, like a Turn Based Strategy game? Simultaneous turn, in my opinion, are a poor attempt to reflect RTS mechanics. The fa

But that's O.K. because it has Sid Meier's name on the box, so of course it deserves a top rating. If only Elemetal were so lucky.

MP is not as polished as it should be, for sure. But "worse then beta" is overblowing it. So long as you set autosave in the game options to save every turn, MP is pretty functional.
Compared to Civ IV, what is the deal with Civ V's MP?
I love it when people talk about how they played the demo and then proceed to break everything down like they've been playing the game for months. Saying things like "So Civilization V goes like this-" after having played the demo for awhile is pretty silly.
The only thing the demo can't tell you is if the mid and end game are fixed. 100 turns gives you plenty of time to test out mechanics, UI and AI.

I can see how younger kids from the "special generation" may find is nice to have a fast pace and no real thinking other than RTS-style active expansion, but at this point first Civilization had more depth. I don't want ANY company to advertise features that are not ready or available for a game on the box or even the website for that matter. It is not an ethical practice to have.

I'm not impressed. I've been looking at GoG for awhile thinking about buying, but haven't done it. I am not a huge fan of paying for content already on the disc either. Then again, you'll get the develoeprs and publishers telling you that you haven't bought anything at all, just a license to some limited access to a product they can change at will and sell to you unfinished and unpolished. In any case, Intel still has at valid competition. I for one would have no problem in switching back to AMD. I've had their products beforein the past.

That's a real bummer. This was the only digi store I really considered truly DRM free, and they were doing a great service getting all these old games available and in usable formats again. It seems a little strange to me that they would pull the plug, pretty much literally, overnight too with no warning of even a phase out.
