Does it play better than the orginal? Did they optimise the game so that it consumes less system resources?
Yes, some things on the simulation side are indeed more optimized. Also the memory footprint is slightly lower, FA won't hit the 2GB limit as soon as Supreme Commander. FA also has the large address aware flag enabled by default. All in all they are only slight optimizations though. It won't work wonders for old system. Also
Secondly, I didnt think it was possible to switch sides last epoch either, at least I couldnt.
I think he is generally complaining about it. He does not realise that being able to switch sides during Pantheon makes the whole concept pointless. It would be like being able to switch between factions in a Galactic War like in Total Annihilation or Supreme Commander.
Yes, this is a known problem. It happens when you are still in the connection list of a lobby that you joined at some point, when the game starts.
I'm bitter about FA not actually being stand alone (why do I have to have both to play all races in MP?)
FA is a stand alone expansion . You can buy the game for an expansion price, rather than the full price, without having Supreme Commander at all and you can play the Forged Alliance campaign and you can play with all factions in Skirmish and Multiplayer. Except in online multiplayer , where you need to have a SupCom and an FA key regis
Or just look at some people here on the Demigod forum for example ;).
Do you experience network break downs with torrents for example?
Well, let me try to explain. Games are always an investment. The publisher invests money into the production of the game. Part of that money goes into the development, part of it into advertising and actual publishing. Since the publisher has the money, he has the power in the end and can decide what should happen how, when and where, if he chooses to do so. Usually there is some release goal set, milestones etc.. Sometimes the development of a games goes longer than anticipated and t
I don't know, I'm still a bit bitter towards GPG for lying about the system requirements on SupCom 1. My old machine exceeded the recommended requirements on the box, but after 30 mins or so against 3 AIs I'd be seeing single digit frame rates during combat. Throwing settings on low didn't even help, the game simply NEEDED the fastest C2D processor at the time. It wasn't a recommended setting, that was pretty much the true minimu
That is a weird issue. I have to agree with Stardock here though, this sounds more like there is an issue on your end, but a hard one to find. Anyway, with a download manager you should easily be able to download the files from Impulse Anywhere, regardless of the connection losses.
I'd be very surprised if Stardock had to cough up more cash to get what they should have gotten in the first place. There should be a contract somewhere that says so. Then again, maybe SD got screwed and didn't cover all the bases when signing.
That's not how the business works. Stardock has a support and content plan for Demigod, which means that they are allocating a part of their budget to finance patches (to fix bugs etc.) and new content like Demigods for example.
Largely because it's not Stardock's job to improve it, but GPG's.
It's GPGs job, but the money comes from Stardock. GPG can't work on Demigod without having a payed assignment from Stardock.
It also happens on the highest settings, but you can zoom out a bit more before it disappears.
This probably depends on the LoD setting.
In my opinion the Priests/Monks/Whatever are not the problem. It's the pure damage output the generals can make with their bazillion minions.
Works again.
the beast is in a teleport animation pose
The beast is in attacking pose.
the swirl is to big to be TB's
The swirls are the same size for all Demigods. Plus, the beast is standing on the flag, while the swirl is beside the flag.
but even in the high settings pic, the only teleport swirl i can see is the beast's because objects are blocking TB's swirl, correct me if i am wrong.
In that picture only the TB is teleporting again. The UB is not teleporting. His point was that in high settings the swirl is clearly visible when zoomed in, while on low settings it's not. It was even 12/1 just now ;).
It screams for some sort of matching mechanism where people are randomly assigned to a side that is needing players.
You mean skirmish ;). Stardock does not want to bring back skirmish, because it was played by only a few players, compared to Pantheon. However, I think if we only had Skirmish and no Pantheon, there would be as much people playing Skirmish as in Pantheon and more.
Perhaps the value could be simply how far off of the average you are for that particular Demigod. Example: I pick QoT in a game. The overlay displays that I have an average of 65 favor points for all of my QoT games, vs 56 for the overall QoT average. Would this be considered an acurate view of how well I use QoT? I'm sure it could be adapted for 'Random Demigod" as well.
Sounds like a plan, but before you do that,
The tactical advantage was gained by teleporting with objects there, happens on high settings too.
The issue we are talking about here has nothing to do with objects. We aren't talking about teleport swirls that are obscured by other things. Yes, the intel integrated graphics adapter does not meet the minimum requirements of the game.
Auf Wiedersehen, glockjs. Not.
I concur. It's even worse at low settings, where you may not see it even when zoomed in.
Yep, as ZehDon said, if there are no open games, simply host one. Also you can check dgstats.insidesupcom.de and see at which time most people are playing (the times there are GMT+1).
