Well, logically, why should the "old" units suddenly disappear?
As far as I can tell, the pirated version is way better thanks to Gameranger, even if they play an older version.
How is it "better"? You can play with the legal version over Gameranger too.
Hm... can you post a Screenshot of you router config? I don't quite understand what a "base host port" could be.
Try here: http://www.grc.com/default.htm Then clicking the ShieldsUp link from the "Hot Spots" section. -HM
ShieldsUp! does not check for open ports. It searches for services behind open ports. To check if your ports are forwarded properly, use PFPortChecker for example.

Maybe it's used by Gameranger and maybe it's just an outbound port. If it is an inbound port, maybe you can specify the port in the options of Gameranger. I also contacted Stardock Support about this. I gave them a detailed description, as also shown here in the thread. At first they asked for even more information (Router firmware, type of DSL, tracert). Then they told me, that the issue is with my ISP and tht ADSL has issues with the P2P connection setup and that they are in the process of setting up a solution. Which is fine, but I asked for more technical details, since I am using an ADSL connection in my home town too and everythin
fidelcastrol, If the scanner is telling you that your ports aren't open.....then they aren't open. Simple as that. They may be "opened" on some NAT-device (router) you have, however UPSTREAM of that router they are still NOT open, which makes you opening them DOWNSTREAM somewhere completely pointless until the UPSTREAM location is dealt with. It's that simple.
ShieldsUp! is only testing for open services behind p
Seems plausible, yes :). Didn't know he also voiced the Sniper in TF2. He sounds so different.
That's BS dolmong. I was in that game, and it was lagging like crazy - your ping was spiking between 300 and 550 constantly. If I'd been the host rather than fireslide, I would have kicked you from the lobby.
If the ping spikes, then his connection was unstable and could not provide a steady stream. The lagging itself has nothing to do with the ping of 300. Do not listen to ddd888, he is a ping nazi.
im not sure whether you are trying to emphasise that in a good or bad way.
In a good way ;). As long as every player has a ping below 350 to every other player and as long as the connection is steady, there will be no stutter.
Hm.. so far literally every encounter with an Unclean Beast as Rook resulted in death for me. Even at the beginning of the game. I obviously do not know how to counter him as Rook :(.
demigod uses a net_lag of 350ms so anything below that is fine when it is steady , it will take some time til people realize this though.
Quoted for emphasis.
I hope you are joking ;).
He sounds like Christopher Lee but I guess it's not him?
Well, those hiccups could also be caused by a player who has an unsteady connection to one of the other players and it's not necessarely related to ping.
Indeed. Teleportation is fine.
No, I know that the Citadel Upgrade doesn't affect the Rook's towers. And I think the level of the tower skill does not affect it either, since I once had towers with only 1950 HP when I was at full tower skill level.
What made you upset about it?
In Supreme Commander, everything below a Ping of 500 is fine. I don't know if the same thing still applies to Demigod.
...that the targeting bug will be fixed soon?
Agreed. Should be fixed asap.
screw that bug, how about the one where your unclean beast simply REFUSES to follow an enemy demigod?
Agreed. Should be fixed asap too. Those 2 things are amongst the most annoying issues.
Yeah, I'd like to know that too. I have no clue what upgrades the rook's towers.
Umm, i used steam for a few games. It's easy and when I wanna play my friends I click them in my buddy list and hit join game or something. I don't see a buddy list or anything with impulse so is there any way to play games? For demigod I have to voice chat over aim and TRY to hit fight at the same time and pray it puts me in a match with him. Is impulse ancient or something?
Why do you not use Custom Games?
Ah ok thx! [e digicons]k1[/e] But, ugh, I do have to download it again, once [e digicons]>_>[/e]
no, it seems you're understanding me wrong. I just said GPGnet is better, never mentioned using it for demigod. Frogboys question then forced us to say yes, but well, he should have asked, who thinks GPGnet is at its current state better than impulse
Well, that's kinda hard to believe now. He clearly asked you, "who thinks we should have used GPGnet" and you said "I am". This is pretty unambiguous ;). Nothing fo
