I noticed that ordinary Towers of Light will always shoot at any Demigod that's close enough, even leaving off creeps to do so. However, the rook's mini-towers of light don't do this, they just shoot at anything within range until it's dead or it moves out of range. For instance, a battle is taking is taking place amidst 4 rook towers scattered about, blasting away at the creeps battling eachother. Then the rook is retreating through them for cover, chased by UB, and the towers keep s

I can't seem to get into the chat lobby on the in-game chat overlay, or on Impulse's chat tab. On impulse, it says it connects, but the lobby only contains me and 'Marvin_' It seems like the only way I can connect is through Mibbit ( http://widget.mibbit.com/?settings=968a9a2d1fd4763e1958120ba8dca315&server=irc

Beta 2B contains the following changes (highlights): + Map: Cataract + Demigods: The Rook, Unclean Beast, Regulus, Oak, Sedna and Queen of Thorns (making their debuts) + New Game Modes: Joining the original Conquest mode are Dominate, Slaughter, Fortress and Capture the Flag. You can currently achieve victory by either completing the game mode's conditions or by destroying the Citadel. You can also set default options for each game mode. - Dominate: Control the fl

I want him to be full-size again, along with the Giants. Because now the entire game is small and unimpressive. It's not as grand as the trailer makes it look at all. Honestly, the old screenshots look way more awesome then the game does. It's disappointing. I'm sure they could come up with something to fix the targeting issue if they wanted to.
#2 was talked about in another thread, where skills get additional damage based on the demigod level. Not as much as another level in the skill, but enough to keep the skill effective at high levels of play. By having skills scale, you allow mixed builds to be an effective option for those who are willing to give up power for versatility.
I agree with that concept. That way skills stay useful as well, even when
Let's begin with the basics. One, I believe that it probably isn't wise to have everything balanced for 1v1; it will reduce the total number of options as well as disallowing truely unique general/assassin possibilities. Two, we should probably stop referring to people, and instead refer only to ideas. For example, I should say something to the effect of the above, while not mentioning who stated the

Nah, because then the more useless people get a share of the useful people's spoils. That encourages teamplay, but discourages individual initiative. It's the same reason why communism sounds great in theory but doesnt work in real life. The 'net teamwork' would come out to less then it does now. The only incentive Demigod needs is that if your team sucks, you lose. That example you gave really doesn't present a problem at all, because a single push is negligible. Just by playing the

The individual Demigods. Everything from the detail of the Torch Bearer's armor to the way the Unclean Beast moves. Oh, and Regulus' comb-over. I can't wait to see Sedna, the Queen of Thorns, and any other characters we havent seen yet in game. But I suppose those arent really features, so that-wise, I'd say the really cool maps, Atlantis especially.

That also depends on a number of different factors, such as the strength, type, size, and freedom of the units EDIT: Also, I agree with Kestrel in that base building would be out of place.

Let's face it, the ways that Generals can change are very numerous, and different ways appeal to different people. But right now, they really are just Assassins with extra buttons on the UI. They don't seem like a completely different role, they seem like a subcategory. Honestly, I hope everyone at least sees that.
I said not a demigod. I'm sorry but they should have to use both their units and their general. Without their general I was saying they should do alot worse not because generals should be able to crush the opposing. More of their general inspires them to do awesome feats of carnage and how others have suggested the closer a generals units are to him/her the better they should do. Those people who only want to use their general units not their gen

While trying to impress a friend with my access to the beta, he made a pointed observation that struck me. "That's the Rook? Why is he so small?" I agree with that. Playing as the rook, he does look small and unimpressive. Now, looking back, everything in the intro and screenshots looks... on a grander scale. More majestic, more monumental. Watching the Rook franticly waddle around in game is a little disappointing. I don't even want to get started on the Giants. Looki

One thing that caught my eye, that I hadnt thought of before, was how you mentioned that generals can wear equipment. Thinking on that, I agree that it really should be the case. If Assassins are the RPG side of the game, and Generals are the RTS side, which one should get equipment? Honestly, its rather silly. After all, I'm not equiping my commander in SupCom with gauntlets of Fell-Dur. However, someone else said that equipment is necessary to the game, which is true current

Personally, I like pumping the money into the citadel. First, as TB, I buy the Vinling Helm for mana regen. After that, I dump all income into the upgrades and make sure all neutral portals are capped for my team. My team's upgraded minions wear down the defences and smash the other team's creeps, and their demigods cant be everwhere at once, no matter how powerful they are. Plus, as TB, I'm still leveling and lobbing fireballs which keep their demigod's hurting regardless of

I agree with Rackjabbit. Typing is slow, and with the current system, especially easy to miss. A team with voice commication always does better then one without. The option of muting individual players eliminates any spamming potential over voice.

Be polite, DeadMG. Your opinion on what makes a 'peice of shit game' isnt the same as others. I believe that the strong early and weak late (and vice versa) is a valid balance, if used correctly. Perhaps you, and your team, are hoping to win quickly by blitzkreig. If that doesnt work, then the other team wins because they chose more latent powers. So each team has its chance to win. This is a common thing in RTS games, which Demigod partially is. Basically, there are multi

I see what you're saying, but you're trying to solve a problem that isnt there. If a player diffuses his points across all skills, all of those skills will be negligible anyway. So really, people already focus their points into a few branches. For instance, as Torchbearer I roll all my points into Circle of Flame first, Fireball second, and attribute upgrades third. Once those are maxed out, I can have a little more fun exploring, maybe find something that works better. Infact

Agreed on all counts, although I personally dont have any trouble distinguishing between passive and active abilities. As a note though, If I had to choose between Torch Bearers current circle of fire mechanism and your proposed one, I would much rather keep the current one simply because its easiest to use in a tight spot. However, if both were included, as you suggested, I would have no problem with that.

Has anyone else read all of the lore for the Demigods? You can view them in the character selection screen by scrolling down the center column. (Which can be expanded by clicking the upward arrow.) I liked them, but I thought the Unclean Beast's previous one was better. This one doesnt seem to convey him as a son of the All Father, just a random monster. I did like the reference to it from Saem-ell's Cloak (Or however you spell it.) I LOVED Erebus's. The funny thing is

2 Replies 2,579 Views

Again, though, this Beta is not balanced. Just because the problems are there, doesnt mean they havent noticed them. That said, I agree with most of the changes, except: I havent had issues with speed. Erebus was zooming around one of my games, but a Boulder Roll stopped him easily enough. As the Rook, I certainly wasnt going anywhere fast. Try the assassins. As a 25 Rook, I could sway the battle more or less by just standing on the frontlines, and demolish the entire
