first off, entrenchment and vanilla are up to v1.16 and v1.02 respectively, so i would start there if you havent already got them. secondly, just for clarification, at first you said you cant get more than 3 custom maps to show in entrenchment, then you said you cant get any, which is it? thirdly, i wouldnt bother putting custom maps into vanilla, i have a feeling it has no bearing on entrenchment, so unless you like to play vanilla on those maps, dont worry about it.

i think Gardas are good because they can attack up to 4 targets at once. im pretty sure i read somewhere that the Devs did this on purpose, 1) to increase effeciency against SC but also 2) to be able to take down mines faster. get alot of them and they do a fair good job. put them in a fleet with a bunch of scouts and they will usually clear a minefield for you in about 10-15 mins depending on the size of the field
also, im assuming you set the AI behaviour to random right? sometimes it pays to decide what behaviour you want. for instance, early game you could set the AI to reseracher or economist, then late game you can change it to defender (if you like to break defenses) or aggressor (if you want to wipe out his fleets against your defenses and starbases). i do this alot, makes it alot more fun because i found, like you, they wont attack so much if you leave it on random, and when they do att
i dont remember the max ive had while im playing, but i would imagine you could have as many enemies at your borders as there are other players. i.e. if you are playing against 9 A.I. and you take the right planets, im sure you could organise to have to defend against all 9 A.I.s at once, though it wouldnt be a good idea because then defense would be just about impossible, as you wouldnt have enough ships, resources or time to properly defend all fronts... would be cool though
i know, he said soon... or the next few weeks (that where i read it first) wasnt that about 2 weeks ago though?
i read in another post that these updates would be out soon... its been a few weeks (i think), and thats just about my definition of soon so...? im trying not to be impatient, but i would like to have a date in my head...
but if you are keeping things updated would that not mean you are adding things? i mean, once you update you could simply write a reply saying, oh, updated X to co-incide with chapter Y etc etc i personally wouldnt mind seeing bumps all the time considering its an interesting read
no, mate, thats not metaphors, you are simply being a jerk. just about everything i see from you (though, in all fairness, i dont go looking for your posts) entails some form of abuse and self-inflation and if you want to argue about use of language about whether this is a forum thread or not, well, fine, you do that, honestly, its trivial and i dont really care, but if you cant come up with valid reasons why you are calling 'innocent' people names. im pretty sure you are only
scouts disable the mine stealthing ability, while SC (fighters) and flak frigs (or a cap like a battleship or destroyer, if you want to put your caps in danger for mine clearing ops) are best suited to taking down mines
im pretty sure i posted before but obviously had net problems anyway, i was trying to say: maybe in your experience, but ive never seen my ships attack a new target before the old one was destroyed. like i said, i usually see my ships firing at targets right up until the explosion graphic. although, in all fairness, it could just be a function of distance, still, im pretty sure ive seen closer range ships still firing, but meh
sweet, thanks
to the best of my knowledge no, but it would be cool... devs, can u help us out?
maybe a weekly update, sorta like bungie does/did with halo saying that, im being very cautious, because, (and im not aiming to offend any bungie fanboys here) but Bungie really screwed around and had way too much fun at work and because of it screwed up 2 of what could have been absolutely mindblowing games. so, yeah, a weekly or even fortnightly updates, just about general goings on but also about Sins updates etc would be FANTASTIC!!! although, if PR is taking up too much p
definitly think novalith needs a buff, i like the shields, but if not shield then how about knocking out weapons? or even dropping armor health and mitigation ability? anyway, id really like to be able ot set starbases to be pinned or unpinned automatically having large maps with lots of UCGW's or dead asteroids where you would logically have lots of starbases and having them clutter the Empire tree is rather irritating
yeah, i would really like the ability to auto-pin/unpin starbases just like fleets or cap ships etc
whats the name of that mod mooster? it looks really good!
i think that happs with all sorts of mines as well, because of the lag in damage assesment, i think the mines and even ships for that matter, dont know when to stop firing. i think most destroyed ships would end up with negative HP values. like, if you fly a lf through a mine field, even if it has 0 health, all mines in the vicinity will detonate anyway, or if you have your fleet firing at a cap ship or starbase, they will keep firing until the explosion graphic plays. no
p.s. if and when this thread starts to die, of even now and just keep it updated, a seperate thread just with like dot points of all your suggestions (i.e. new SC behviour, TEC destroyer, the new Advent Armarda etc etc) would be great, and easy to read, especially for the Devs should they wish to easily access some of your very good ideas without hunting through all this story. just a suggestion
[quote who="JuleTron" reply="2" id="2187168"] ive also wondered how a one man fighter with, at most, 50mm weapons (lets say 100mm, though thats VERY outside) can damage a LRF or Seige Frigate with more effeciency than a bomber that carries missiles specially designed for taking out larger ships... That is because large calibre weapons overpenetrate weak armour and waste kinetic energy so an armour-piercing bomb deals less damage to an unarmoured flight-deck on an aircraf
okay, so by my understanding you tried parking cap ships in the GW in question right? what about the other suggestions i made? Starbase? Deliverance Engine? im not certain, i dont play advent, but im pretty sure a DE shot would neutralise enemy culture on a world almost instantly, letting you colonise.... i just thought of something, you said you used the in-game map editor, not galaxy forge right? try using galaxy forge, it might just fix the problem, and you can set the phas
i just posted another thread sorta like this about mines someone said that advent homing mines are weird, they choose what targets they pick as though they have pms so... i mean, i flew a major fleet past a homing minefield, brushing the outer edge of the field and out of maybe 100 mines maybe 10 tried to hit me, soo...
there is a function in game options that sets how fast culture (influence) spreads and retreats, if everything else is slow, you could set culture to fast to get the desired effect. there are also other factors, such as how many cap ships are in a GW. also, since you were playing Advent, i think the starbase also repels culture. and if all that fails, you could have fired a Deliverance Engine burst at the planet and saved alot of time. However, i think yours is a unique situation, and
already tried that, most of them only convert about 60% then ask you to pay...
yeah, i bought a box set... but then during the process of beta testing i somehow got a digital download... or at least thats how impulse sees it i dont know, i logged in like you say and said it wants me to download a bonuspack thing i have the .ogg files, im not that fussed, though i would like to be able to upload them to my iPod
i put a fleet of 100 ships all around that mine and nothing, i had ships passing by for hours and nothing. i cant remember if it was a sun or a planet, or both on seperate occasions, i mean, if it doesnt move, then fine, but, yeah, it would be nice to have it fixed
