wow... arrogant much? you must have one hell of a complex, because it seems to me like you are challenging everyone and no one about how good your modding skill is. personally, i dont have the patience, time or skill to mod, even though i would love the ability to play around with coding like you guys do. but seriously, there is NO reason whatsoever, to open a thread with "Get something in your thick heads, right now; You are no match for my modding proficiency" <

i recommend changing your post title to something more relevant, "Entrenchment" doesnt help very much
right, so im playing a few games of Sins, and not alot of the time, but enough to be irritating, i find mines deploying in funny locations. For instance, i find Advent homing mines located in the center of planets, or practically touching the surface of a sun, well out of range for anything to destroy it. TEC mines will also deploy funny. ill click on the edge of the well, and 9/10 mines will deploy within the circle, but 1 will deploy on the other side of the GW, well outside
I was just thinking about it, apparently, the Ogrov missiles and Starfish plasma do not do damage against ships, only structures/starbases. Im thinking maybe they need a small weapon, a laser or something. After all, Seige Frigates have small ship-to-ship weapons, it just makes Assault Cruisers easier to integrate into fleets... thoughts?
i just followed that link provided by Tamren, it was saying something about installing bonus pack v1.05 but i thought, what the hell, if it downgrades ill just update again via impulse but then i logged in and everything and it said file not found? whats it supposed to do/be Tamren? anyway, in relation to the topic, a music selector would be nice, but i think Sins dynamic music player would prevent choosing your own music. that is, if you zoom into a GW
what happens is the add/remove programs function is simply an easy way to access the uninstall that comes with the game, it can uninstall it by itself, so, if the uninstall file itself is gone, then add/remove cant remove it, but it still thinks the game is installed. you need to go into your registry and edit some files, namely the ones that make add/remove programs think Sins is still installed, but i would be VERY CAREFUL because if you delete the wrong thing you can screw up your computer
You are mixing names there. Gauss guns use magnets to accelerate objects down a tube. Railguns use a current that jumps between two rails to create opposing magnetic fields that propel objects along a firing track. I think its called "Lorentz force" but my spelling might be off on that. Literally speaking a "mass driver" is any device that drives mass. Even my foot would qualify. But in Sci-fi it generally refers to one of the above.<br /
Maybe the way I worded it was incorrect. Yes, I understand the reply you wrote in connection with the events bar in the lower corner and how a player can miss info. Thats why I suggested that it be a screen centered popup window. "Hostile Forces have entered orbit around Planet _______" Would you like to send forces to intercept them? Here would be 2 boxes Yes or No.......If you click yes....It displays your fleets for you to select
no idea, i dont think a whole lot is known about the details of the next X-pack yet
this idea has been batted around before, both the concept of other forms of planet capture and this one in particular. there are a number of factors to consider here, does it fit in with the bible (i mean the story bible, you can calm down now =P), does it add to the game and does the added complexity make it worthwhile, after all, if you're fighting for your life in space, do you really want to spend time monitoring planet capture, just because you opted to bring dropships inste
im fine with recorded replays splitting hairs, fine, point conceeded, thanks, yes, i dont know how the current system works, but that is irrelevant as a new system would have to be developed to counter the issues we are talking about. im not saying my way is the only way, it just sounded to me like you were arguing from the point of view thats its just to complicated to secure communications during live games, and that was my issue, cause i dont think it is. perhaps li
just a question guys... in the files i found in the game, there are a bunch of songs that you never hear in the game... some battle songs and other stuff.... any ideas? (p.s. if anyone is interested, download WinAmp and listen to TEC3 and TEC4 so you know what im talking about)
Sorry for potential fanboism but I think that Entrenchment is a pretty good price for the content it adds, about £2 more than 'horse armour' if i recall correctly.
i agree, i was VERY surprised to get an expansion for less than lunch, especially considering how much work they put into it. i also have to say thats why i dont have Xbox live. ive never tried it, but i think its just another wa
It is the same mechanism as whispering - whispering is to one person, vs broadcasting.... You also would need to block friend whispering in case the friend was in the game
and this cant be done? im not advocating one side or another, i just think if Stardock wanted to do it, it could be done, some lines of code and presto, instant pizza. no seriously, i realise the difference between whispering and broadcasting. there is
that sounds like cinematic mode, you can turn that off in-game by pressing the small video camera button located near the menu and zoom to cursor buttons (i know its in the general aread but im not sure exactly, refer to above post i guess) or you can go to menu options and switch it on/off in the effects or video tabs if all else fails, read the manual =) good luck
Quoting InfiniteVoid, reply 2 The correct name of that ability is Karmic Retribution. It applies 100/200 bounty on the person who killed the trade ship (depending on researched level) and I believe is also subject to the Persuasive Offers research subject (increases bounty purchased by 12.5%/25%). Yeah i guess there could have been confusion between that and all the other advent karma based abilitie
I like the inteceptor idea only on one condition is that it has no capability to attack anything other than strike craft. Now however SINS in it's current selection of strike craft is not really needed since the only thing that has strike craft is capital ships and escort carriers. Even if you destroy the strike craft you need to kill the ships to keep them from comming. Another reason on why I end up bomber heavy in SINS. MY solution is instead
haha, no, thats supposed to look like that, for some reason its the only research subject with only two lines of research
is that kind of communication limited to whispering? why not broadcast to everyone? sure, its interrupting, but how often will it come up? and even if it is the only way, fine, enable whispering to people outside the game, but not within the game....
Nice ideas. However if you attack KorSul Armada the AI will have a different and unique taunt or comeback.
Why cant you TEC bastards leave us alone, all we were trying to do was run away from Chuck Norris!!!
Yes, and they will remain viable without needing the second or third expansions. My point is that they want each expansion to not require the previous ones, so there's no gurantee that someone that buys the third expansion will have the first.
so your saying the second and thrid expansions wont have starbases and anti-structure crusiers and the defense tech tree and whatever other changes? because someone who buys
wow, GREAT ideas. i did some things like this myself, but it was all jerry-rigged, manual and not entirely effecient. so, on your particular points: 1) constant patrol system has come up before a few times, i dont know if the Devs are doing anything about it, but it really wouldnt be too hard to implement, its not like they are re-inventing the wheel, so hopefully we'll see something in a patch or next X-pack. 2) i LOVE this idea. two things i can see, if you want voca
i think your being a bit melodrammatic here... i wouldnt say a lack of a specator mode is a MAJOR thing holding back the game... but a spectator mode would be good... especially if people want to make movies in real time, the spectator could record while the player 'directs' as it was but to avert text spamming and spying, why dont the devs just disable comments from spectators, or at least prohibit them from whispering, that way anything they say can be seen by the other player, so,
The only thing extra you get when you buy the game legitimately is access to Ironclad Online, which is an online multiplayer lobby within the game itself. It is used mostly by people with no friends that have SoaSE or people with no friends period. You also get to download a convenient program that updates the game with one click. I have a question though, why would I do this when the online player base for this game is a joke? I can log
id like something to give the real feel of the scale of the game. i was thinking of this game M.A.X. where yu really have to think about logistics. for instance, buidling a power generator doesnt mean your base automatically gets power. you have to physically connect it to the other structures. anyway, one of the features of the game was when you research something, lets say larger ammo capacity, you would have to bring in all your units to a depot to refit them with the upgrade.
