Quoting LordSethD, reply 12 Eh a lot of my friends that play online say that they come across more "asshats" then friendly players, which is mostly why I've taken to just fighting the AI on unfair. I have no tolerance for idiots so as soon as an asshat start piping up with comments or spamming a unit I lose all interest in the game. If the game has ben good sure I'll stick but when it comes right down to it I hat

i like the idea of massive battles with starbases etc, reinforcements continually streaming in, etc etc unfortunately, this isnt the way to do it. your ideas throw the balance off and change entire gameplay concepts. there was a petition a while ago for super dreadnaughts who level up using a system something between a starbase and a cap ship, and there would only be one and it could come ino a battle and fight much like a starbase, except it moves. <p
Quoting Blair Fraser, reply 12 We just finished Sins 1.17 and Entrenchment 1.03. We'll post the patch notes early next week and release when the testing is done (probably later that week or early the following week). Sorry I haven't been posting much, we are crazy busy on lots of new stuff. Thanks for your patience When is this happening? &nbs
so, how would robots get a connection to Hell?
they dont? i wasnt talking about robots... what do robots have to do with a transport lab experiment gone wrong? i was simply giving another idea that fits into existing lore, hopefully one that sounds pretty good. i mean, ships from hell... you wouldnt run from that?
i cant make my screen any brighter, but it did look kinda scary =P
i remember a movie... cant remember the name... but it had Sam Neil in it (the Aussie guy from Jurassic Park etc) anyway, its a Sci-fi movie about a new kind of FTL drive that rather than just going fast, created a wormhole (everyone knows about wormholes) anyway, the first prototype went through and everyone on board died, then the rescue ship, with Sam Neil, found the prototype, looked at the sensor readings, and they said everyone on board died from madness a
he probably means a comp stomp... or is still thinking like other RTS where campaign AI isnt actually AI but is more scripted, while MP AI is more dynamic...
I believe that Space Ponies is a random, and i mean very random, achievemnet
i still havent found them.... its the only achievement im missing... =(
i played a custom map made by a friend of mine for 4 players, had the same thing, lots of planets, but only 1 pirate base just outside of the star for each arm (i.e. each player had 30 or so planets and had to go through a pirate base to get to the star, then another pirate base to get to another arm. anyway, it was me against 2 unfair researchers, they got through the pirate bases before me (although i did sorta leave it on purpose...) they both had very fortified planets, ve
just fyi, its a bit more helpful if you write meaningful thread titles... i mean, almost everyone here plays "Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment" so.... maybe, Error while trying to play entrenchment just helps with navigation in the forums
that should be stopped i reckon...
id like v1.17 and v1.03 to come out already =) unless the devs like some ideas here and are trying to cram as much in as possible... lastly, for the last time, Sins does not require you to be online or have Impulse running while playing (single player that is, MP is pretty duh) i mean, ive stopped playing Sins for a bit recently, i feel like doing something that Sins cant really provide. Yet, i know that there should be a few patches coming soon, so i still log
omg, that was gold, so well done [e digicons]5*[/e]
sorry, let me clarify here, everything said in the book was argued from both sides, so there were people who argued that a race wouldnt have to become friendly before meeting people, it could simply have decided its better to fight other people etc
that warlock class cruiser from Babylon 5 looks an awful lot loike a Kol Battleship doesnt it? anyway, my two fav ships are these: Star trek Soverign Class starship, the enterprise is a Soverign Class in all the latest movies with Picard et al maybe not the most powerful in terms of weapons, but very adaptable and durable, also, absolutely beautiful 2nd, is a bit of a remix, just made it up while reading posts actually so, think if the Daedalus-class Ba
In the beginning, there was nothing. Then God said; Let there be light! There was still nothing, but you could see it a whole lot better - Ellen DeGeneres V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villian by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified
there is a book called The Lure... im sorry i forget who wrote it, but its about a group of scientists who discover a message being transmitted to them in the form of exotic particles. anyway, most of the book was talking about the implications of the message, and then, the implications to responding. on one hand, it can be understood that the reason the message was transmitted in such an advanced, difficult to detect way, was to determine if we are advanced enough yet (a
i just hope that the devs will look at a bunch of other threads and not just this one, i havent read every single post, but there are some good ideas about buffing the novalith, new ships, and general improvements elsewhere just wanted to say that =) im sure its already happening, but still
wow... decoy, are you using a graphics mod? because i run Sins on top graphics but never see explosions like that
I think if anyone is going to post in this thread they should be required to read your link in full. The author did a wonderfull job of breaking down the debate (even as far as the root of the word pirate) using research and having sources to back up every claim. Some things he wrote about (freeriders) I found quite interesting as I did not know even piracy itself suffers from the act of well piracy. Wel

no, you phrased the question correctly, we were just theorising first off, 9 is the answer, it is totally possible to have to face off against 9 AI's at once, if the objective is to do so. if you want to face and win against 9 ai, you have to be careful to be in a position to win. it usually takes a while for empires to die, anyway you asked what is the most ai faced at once, it really depends on the size of the map, ive played against 5 other AI, at once, but you often hear o

be careful here, there was alot of heat recently due to DRM vs. No DRM debates, lots of people turning to piracy because of Impulse and Stardock etc breaking its promise of no DRM whatever. im just wondering what the purpose of this thread is? if its to start another DRM fight, please dont, if its to try and start a DRM debate or intellectual conversation, like i said, be very careful, because it will easily turn into a big fight. my personal thoughts on the whole DRM thing: C
no, these happen sometimes, i get it alot. i told a bunch of new caps to join a fleet, and to get to the fleet they had to jump through a wormhole. however, once they got to the wormhole, instead of using it, they decided to use sub-light engines to get to the other wormhole (yes, i had all the necessary tech researched). another time i was re-inforcing a fleet at one planet. as it was building i went away and did other stuff, but the pips at the first planet stayed there the entire t
