Hehehe, ok this explains it. I have a maxed weapon and civil temple things, but exactly zero communion temples. No wonder those deliverance things I placed didn't do anything rofl
lol, sorry, that was hilarious its alright, live and learn
That phase thing drives me nuts btw - it's not really that useful for me. It'd be so great if it was optional, at the bottom and didn't take focus away
alot of people have requested it be axed or at least be made optional... either in a patch or the next X-pack
Seems to me like the Empire window is 80% there, it's pretty good but just needs a bit of work. Trust me, I've seen a lot worse!
again, i agree, and alot of people have requested c
i dont play Advent, but Deliverance Engine is a super weapon, it shoots culture at enemy planets... but yeah, swap some trade ports to extractors and build more broadcast centers (i think they are called temple of communion for advent...) Advent has the best culture rates, so you wont have to work so hard to get up in culture, usually placing broadcast centers on central planets with lots of phase lanes will let it spread quickly as for resources... im not sure how adv
thanks, i was thinking the exact same thing, but figured the flameing backlash wouldnt be worth it. i just wanted to say here and now that you have at least one supporter =)
We are both very busy working on new material. As pointed out above and in other threads, Sins 1.17 and Entrenchment 1.03 are complete (and yes, we mentionned multiple times what was going on).
complete as in ready? so where are they?
Stardock has been understandably busy with
okay, well, there are some problems with the UI (its called the Empire window just so you know) for instance it will show you what ships are in phase space at any one time, and alot of people dont really care about that So, this is how i use it: i leave it as auto un-pin planets. the only ones i pin are important planets... i.e. frontline strongholds, factory planets, my homeworld, etc etc (some MP players might also pin important allied planets) otherwise the Empire window ge
i didnt say it wasnt a good tactic, i just said i dont like it, i dont like jumping in my fleet, then waiting while the SB builds... all the while possibly taking heaps of losses... and thats aside from the fact that a decent SC swarm could take out the SB before it levels... 1) Fight out of range of their SB until yours is ready 2) Repair the starbase as it builds - fighters will sweep his bombers and fighters aren'
So ive heard alot of requests for Z axis etc. Now, i know alot of people will say, oh, just press the Z-axis hotkey and duh ive never used it, and have never had to, but i had this good idea the last time i opened Entrenchment at the opening cinematic thing for entrenchment, where you see the commander and the holo screen representation of the battle field, i saw an interesting detail on the same plane as the SB, as well as above and below, i saw what could be
there is a much easier way (at least this is how i got it, they may have rectified it since) put the 4 AI on Easy at the beginning of the game, build up a big fleet or 3, then when uve researched everything and fortified your frontline worlds, save, exit, then load the game again and before you click start, set all 4 ai to hard or unfair whatever. then load and wipe them out thing is the AI only builds at the beginning of the game. you could give the AI a few days to b
i personally dont line this tactic, its too slow for my liking, but thats just me, and i dont play Vasari anyway The nice part is that vasari starbase fully upgraded can take down any other fully upgraded starbase, and even deal with a decent sized enemy fleet at the same time. It takes a bit more time yes, and money, but those things are BEASTS, especially with frontal shield and debris vortex.
i didn
Also, always destroy the other defense platforms before the SB
although, if its a Vasari SB, its kinda hard to sit your fleet down and destroy every other defense platform because the SB is just gonna keep coming for you. if its Advent or TEC then its easier, although, there is the tactic of having all your defenses clustered around the planet, so while it makes fleet battles in orbit easier (orbital defenses dont butt in on the fighting) it means you have to sit outsid
demo? why are you installing a demo? the released version is out already...? i remember playing the beta, they wanted to uninstall Sins as well... what i recommend is backing up your save game files if you have any, then letting Impulse do whatever it wants to do. im not sure why, but i have a feeling Entrenchment uses alot of the same files that vanilla uses so they install them at the same time to make life easier, but dont quote me on that the very worst that will h
what the? [e digicons]8(|[/e]
yeah, i know about bookmarking and favorites etc, cheers i was just wondering how to get there via impulse, but meh, via a browser works also cheers
yeah, i like the idea of these hero admirals/ace pilots etc... (a little less for ace pilots though, individual SC can die a bit too easily) i would personally prefer a destroyer to a super dreanought whatever. just something with multiple banks/weapons like a cap ship, but no abilities, and not as potent as a cap ship (i.e. not as damaging) it probably wont go through, lots of people are afraid of more ships or anything that might tip their precious precocieved strate
im reading the forums via Impulse, but i have IE8... and i got the thread for Soa, but i couldnt see a 'file path'... for instance at the top of my screen, i can see a path in green text that looks like Home > My Games > Stardock Games > Sins of a Solar Empire with the link you gave me, the same place on the screen just says Home > what im looking for is the page with all the threads about modding, just like Sins has its own page... idn
1) Usually 1 per Grav Well, per faction (for instance, you and your ally can put 1 Starbase each in a normal planetary/asteroid/Non-colonisable GW) however, Stars can host up to 4 per faction. these are fully built starbases btw 2) Only the constructor itself takes up fleet slots. once the SB is built, you get the points back. the SB itself uses no logistics or fleet slots whatsoever 3) i dont have one sorry, im sure there is one around though. but very basically, ther
thanks heaps, how exactly do i find the mods forum without a link? the link 'filepath' you gave me just says home and an arrow...
no one can help me?
I'd just like to (belatedly) toss in a comment here. Impulse is pretty darn nice - IF IT WORKS. For me, it does not and has not. I've removed/uninstalled/erased/younameit more times than I care to mention in the past 4 months... I can NOT upgrade. I've written to support - no response. I've read the forums and tried everything i've seen there... Something on my system - and I have no idea what - is messing w
Keeping the community updated is the best way to keep the game alive. Developers should inform their players of what they're messing with or trying out. Let us know you're alive. Feed our imagination, anticipation a little. I would rather be informed every 2-5 days on what the devs are doing about one of my favorite games than have the next patch out 2-5 days earlier. Seriously, if you're spending 6, 8, 12 hours a da
As for DRM, Stardock policy is about as sensible and user friendly as you are likely to get. Basically their policy is "pirates are going to pirate it regardless of what DRM we put on it (so that is pointless), but its pefectly fair if only legitimate users can get our nice juicy free updates".
nice quote [e digicons]k1[/e]
i went in early last night, and there were 8 pages of mods, i go in now and there are only 5 pages, and regardless, i cant find certain mods one in particular im looking for is the Sacrifice Of Angels mod... on a side note, that entire site, winCustomise, is very hard to navigate. there is no point bitching about it now, but idn im just wondering if anyone else has this same problem, and, even better, if there is a way around it al
its silly, its a matter of the shortest longest path if that makes sense. i.e. it will go as long as possible but wont loop around or take the scenic route to make sure it is the longest route... i posted a similar thread about this, someone posted a pic (i think it was from a wiki) about trade routes etc. one of the more interesting points is that you can channel your trade route by choosing where and where not to put trade ports, that way the optimum route mechanic doesnt have to th
oh boy, you just opened a HUGE can of worms mate right, heres how it is, and listen up before some other people get crazy and start spouting incorrect information if you have the retail version with a disk, then you can install/un-install until armageddon, with absolutely no strings. you dont need internet, you dont need a disk, and im 99% sure you dont need a serial, but i installed my version (retail) a long time ago so i dont quite remember. its been thought of before, by alot of people opinions are mixed, some like it, some think its too much micro, or unbalanced, or unnecessary i believe there would be about 4 or 5 other threads about or mentioning boarding parties. i think the forum search function is still broken, but they are there, if you want opinions, i recommend going there
