i have to agree, Stardock and Ironclad are VERY quiet, although they are only small companies. another forum i was heavily invovled in at the time was the Bungie forums when halo 2 and then 3 came out. Bungie released multiple items of news a week, as well as a standard weekly update. on that aspect, they were very good, and i had lots to dream about at night (omg thats gonna be so cool etc) however, (and sorry to any fanatical Halo fanboys out there) i really think Bu

Sins is different to Entrenchment in some ways. i usually only play Entrenchment, because there are many common features plus the new entrenchment stuff, however, original Sins has different maps, with different people playing online. the AI is also different to entrenchment (different features, ships, research etc) and entrenchment has 3 more unique artifacts. also, im not certain but its possible some number values are different (such as damage values, cost of research or resource

and let me just state here that im not anti-god or anything like that, just very anti-religion. Hell is just a bedtime story to keep you inline and paying your dues to the church. In Australia, the aboriginies have a story about the boogie man, that if you disobey your parents and dont stay away from the river or whatever, the boogie man will come and take you away and eat you or some crap like that. Most people nowadays will say thats quaint, but crap. tell me how thats different fro

defensless? when the AI surrenders their ships and structures dont go poof... on a seperate topic... ive noticed games where ive wiped out an AI, as in destroyed all his ships, structures, planets, you name it..... and he still stays in the game... i went to watch the replay afterwards and i couldnt see anything of his fleets or planets... the only thing i could think of was that maybe he had sent a fleet to another planet using sub-light engines only, w
1) im not talking about robots
let me put it in bold for you IM NOT TALKING ABOUT ROBOTS!! i was simply giving an alternative idea. to be honest, the most frightening robotic enemy ive ever heard of is Stargate Replicators... i cant picture I,Robot style robots as being all that terrifying. and that IS what we are going for here... Terror... this thing wiped out what could possibly be the most advanced an

i dont like it! i was totally psyched, thinking, oh man, this super weapon is gonna rock! i was totally expecting Chuck Norris' face to pop up on screen and round house kick the other empire into oblivion!! 1 Hit KO FTW man! [/joke] [e digicons]:P[/e]
basically just boring baby sitting. I'm glad the AI now surrenders
yeah, except that the AI who just threw an tantrum and left has a few planets important to me, either thoroughfares, optimum trade routes, good chokepoint GW's or Artifacts... i mean, if you are playing against alot of AI, and one decides to give up, okay cool, but i want his planets for resources.... and i want him to get out of my way so i can attack the enemy behind him on a weaker flank... it
Quoting TheRezonator, reply 13 Quoting Zoythrus, reply 9i really dont like the idea of people tampering with things that no mortal should mess with... say what? no man (or robot) should be messing with Hell. Hell is a horrible place, i dont want to play a game that glorifies a place designed for the damned.
1) im not talking about robots im saying, just like
one thing i would like is for ships in fleets to manouver and fly and duck and weave and act as though the DONT want incoming fire to hit them, as it is, its smacks of American Civil War and even British Colonial Era fighting where troops would rock up, line up, ready, aim, and shoot the flying f*** out of each other. i think it would make for a much more interesting experience visually to see ships flying around, to see a LRF running away des

i agree its irritating sometimes. i was playing a large single star map, the AI had fortified a single GW chokepoint that would hae very effectively blunted just about any attack i could have made... in the end he surrendered to an enemy AI who had been sending single ships to die in that GW for about 2 hours or so... i dont believe you can turn surrendering off, but the new expansion is about diplomacy etc, so maybe the devs will include something about surrendering... a

i dont play vasari but i think there is some sort of bug where the most recently colonised/phase gated world wont know it has a phase gate until like 15 mins after colonisation/construction you might want to alert the devs to this in case they dont already know

hey, im going to apologise in advance, i dont mean to flame you or anything, but it has to be said, this is such a token post its wonderful. i think there are about 2 or 3 threads active on the front page right now about another race... anyway, good on you for using the forums etc, but lol... such a token post =P

im just wondering, what is effective VS the actual carrier? like, flak is good vs SC, but any ship, including SC, can destroy a flak frig, while only flaks and other SC can take down SC, meaning there are already many more threats shortening a Flak frig lifespan. AND, you can destroy all the SC you want, but until you destroy the carrier, it'll never end, so whats is the counter to the actual carrier?
Rezonator, it sounds like you just don't have any interest in playing challenging Sins games--games against real opponents. Scoutting out your opponent, determining the strength and composition of your opponent's fleet, anticipating your opponent's next moves, and making adjustments to your own fleet's composition and responding to your opponent's moves and taking advantage of his mistakes is just part of the game. You aren't supposed to be able to build whatever units you want willy-n

yeah, i agree and just to get it in now, because i know other people will, removing Phase jumping ships from the empire window most jumps are so quick, in the time you get any useful info from it, the jump is already over
i cant make my screen any brighter, but it did look kinda scary =P If your backlight isn't working (laptop) press and hold the Fn key and press the up arrow to increase brightness... That is, if you even meant that
no, i meant my brightness is as high as it can go... idn, maybe all you were supposed to see was faint outlines and details... meh... it was kinda cool/freaky though =P

here's an idea, how about axing the whole concept that makes certain units spammable? or at least put in a new mechanic that overrides current weaknesses, such as flanking a ship - lets say a LRF (i.e. attacking a single ship from 2 diff sides) will makes its shields drop twice as fast, and does more damage/quicker than a fighter attack? cause i seriously have to say, thats whats stopping me from playing MP, the stupid exploitation of 'loopholes' (for
