but... it does require steam, which means my personal steam boycott forbits me from dling it. oh well, thats ok, there is more to life than a single FPS... that isnt really a FPS.

so... when you mean XML you mean Extensible Markup Language? cause I dont quite understand how XML is helpfull in making a state machine. and then you go on to say the code is gosh, if i could create an AI that could play a game optimally in 100 lines of code... heh! maybe i am just stupid.
ya, if you have diplomacy... waiting in the lobby for 30 min or so durring peak hours should give you a game, but ya, the lobbys for sins and entrenchment are smaller, but there are still players there if your lucky.
if you registered you game, you can look it up on impulse. simply right-click the game, and select the view registration option. it even lets you copy it to your clipboard. however.. if you registered you game, then you really dont need the CD or CDkey anymore, (cause you can install inpulse on the computer in question, log in, and download the game) so chances are you prolly didnt register... in which case... i cant help you. (But someone from support might be able to... <e
http://www.mediafire.com/file/w3wtmzqtaza/SolarSystemDS.galaxy here is a link (hopefully) for the Solar_SystemDS map.
I blame ryat for Civ5 for requiring steam.
You prolly should not have bumped this thead and created a new thread... the AI as improved significantly from when this thread was posted... and while some of the topics are still outstanding, some are actually addressed.
if you have a massively overpowering fleet... it kinda makes the AI want to kiss your feet (for hopefully obvious reasons) course, thats really hard to do vs a cruel ai. see if you can get his other neighbors to attack the cruel.... this will take some of the heat off of you... and if you attack thier ships while the cruel has a little something in the grav well (try, like, defending one of his planets)... that tends to make the ai happy (gl with that though... the cruel might
welcome back. although, of course, I suggust getting diplomacy for its larger ammount of players... so... it will help with there being more players.... we occasionally have 5v5s still. woohoo. also, the diplo options make being feeder position... slightly more satisfying. (example... place 5 TEC diplo cruisers to your allies worlds, and give both of yourselves +900 fleet supply... bonus points if you dont have to go above 9% upkeep to do it)
we occasionally must remember that this game is old. it was built for what... 2003 spec computers, where multithreading was non-existant, and computers were quite simply not as powerful. (and hell, the game still gets laggy when you got 10 players with maxxed fleets) While I am sure rotating turrents will be in sins 2. (I will be rather unhappy if they are not)... the game engine does not support anything besides stationary meshes. And, on rotating planets... at on
frogboy wins. course... there should be an "all of the above" group. (hi)
the marterdom ablity officially sucks. Its like... almost as powerfull as the gauss rail gun (rofls) I really thought it did splash damage... well it doesnt. the autocast (which starts off) sends the scout in at around 1/2 health... which means that its got to make it from point a to point b before it blows up, and considering it is being focus fired... gl with that. ya, so itll do 80-90 damage to that capital ship... (before armor) So... if you happen
ryat... do you have like some sort of marco that alerts you every time "pirates" is typed into this forum?
he put up a great fight though... killed... 3 of my cap ships? his refusal to build culture centers is what truely won it for me.... and the 3 cap ships bombarding his hw to dust... but it was mostly the culture.
click on the planet, and press the planet upgrades button. its in the lower right corner of the GUI. took me a while to remember that... i am so used to hotkeys, I just click the planet and type qqqqqaaaaa to give my planet maxed logicals slots and population.
make sure you buy the logistical slot upgrades! its right below the population upgrade button.
DS is a great and epic mod... (games 5 or 9 pm est every sat/sun!) but it is not balanced. course no one plays it competitivly, so no one really cares that much. 60% shield bypass is not balanced... 94% shield mitigation is not balanced. being able to build lv 6 marzas is not balanced... but everything is so unbalanced that it all preety much works out in the end. this game is preety darn close... its just, not quite. sweeping balanced changes are not req
when spore came out, it cost $60... or you could buy the uber edition for $80
this is very simple, and may single handedly save multiplayer. all I want, is instead of a stupid sign that says "your mesh files differ" have a stupid sign that says "your mesh files differ... copy and paste this link into your broswer where there are instructions to fix it: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341480 " or even better... you allready wrote this lovely paragraph...
Carefull whey you ask "what should be done about it"... it tends to invite Volt_Cruelerz to suggust some crazy "fix". I would suggust, perhaps, an increase in duration and cooldown time, (and an approprite increase in antimatter cost so that the antimatter per bomber/second is unchanged) so that it takes longer for all the squads to spawn, and you have more time to knock them out of the sky before they self-detonate. 30% increase in antimatter cost, duration and cool d
So, has anyone else noticed how almost everyone does the same thing now? almost everyone plays vasari now. (oh, remember the days when we were so few, twas the good times) every vasari gets at least one carrier cap... eventuanlly ending up around 2 or 3. then 2 dosen or so lrms, then 2 dozen or so flack... then bomber spam. I really have not seen any serious deviation from this in the games i have played recently. Anyo
I agree that this is preety gay... I was really looking foward to civ 5. Its so ironic though, cause I recently picked up a copy of civ4, because on the box it said "no drm"... and its great, no serial number to type in, hell, i dont even need the cd any more.... it was sweet... and now... this... eww. I just cant buy anything from steam. They are just... they shit on us, and they can get some of us (see psot ab
one more thing: the reason why your flack wont move might be because they are using discharging missles. discharging missles are great, and deal extra AOE damage, but your ship dont move, so make sure you move your flack to where you want them, so they dont go off chasing sc, and end up in the middle of nowhere, and unable to move.
Seriously this is really the first time I even though of this questions, I usually refer to them from their roles
I know. I really never thought about it till I heard someone say some wierd ship name and was like "wooh, people are callin these things that?" bout 5-6 of us on teamspeak had at least 4 different ways of saying a single ship type... (Its so bad now that i cant even pronunce things the way I
