Spinorial, I just realized that the loading screens also shows TitleBack.png - but the full pic stretched to the screen. Can that be fixed?
It's been a while since I've played DL, but if I remember correctly, IP trading was pretty much pointless. You couldn't get anything for it. In TotA you can at least buy something with it. Though it is a bit too strong now.
It's clearly bugged in DA &
Yes, they do give that impression sometimes. Especially when you consider their nerf of the engines in DA and TotA. And then there are situations like the overpowered sensor-stacking in GalCiv 3, where Frogboy explicitly said that he sees no problem with it, because he uses those super sensor-boats too. Am I the only one who gets mixed messages here?
Yes I remember that he said that in a DevStream, but still some tim

heyho this is currently debated in the CU thread https://forums.galciv2.com/457944/page/62/#3612165 you may leave an opinion there - because there will be a finalization but so say a few words on the subjects planet trading could be done quite exploitable, the AI routines are erratic & gimped, but we couldn't change these... traditional farming, and esp. bonustiles, sometim

The map of the old rallye points screen would have been more useful if the zooming-out would work correctly.... I never considered the stretched screens as a problem, over time you get just used to it.... Planet trading is extremely exploitably, in that it would goof up any game playing Terrans or having Korath as enemies. SD actually took other stuff out (for example setting CivCaps) so they actually have an interest to not make OP stuff available to the player - esp. when an

I'm wondering what the term Debug Message: Drengin Empire: Intellence -> 120 Debug Message: Yor Collective: Intellence -> 120 in debugg.err means? (if that's supposed to be "Intelligence" it made my day [e digicons][/e] ) Nevertheless, it's 150 for suicidal, 120 for obscene, 100 from maso - challenging, 50 for normal.... So I'm inclined to believe it's not tied to the actual percentage diff bonuses, because AFA
Take control of another race (preferably evil aligned), build some combat ships with it, and then give away all of its planets. Go back to your old race (or any other one), and end the turn. At the start of the next turn, the test race will be declared destroyed, and some (or all, if evil) of its ships will become pirates. So I simply removed Industrial Revolution, Traditional Research, and Capitalism from their tech tree. That did it. The minors will now always have access to their version of the starting buildings. Should they get Xeno Industrial Theory, Xeno Economics, or the like, then they can upgrade their buildings normally. Well, until the players reloads, but at least the finis

and while we're at it^^ can you remember that event when you get informed that your spies did work together with a minor race - which were then able to steal all techs from another civ. And that this minor wants to sell all these techs in trade for some planets. I got this multiple times - but whenever I contacted that Minor he had no techs for me whatsoever, and offering planets didn't change anything. I'm wondering if perhaps that bug could be responsible

Gaunathor, I like all the changes, with the exception of the Minor-stuff. They're potentially weaker now than before, in a game Yor vs Terrans they can't build a single improvement in turn1. I understand that the underlaying bug influencing this is huge and that there is neither an elegant nor easy solution, nor did the previous method fix it (as it were, the Minor tree was still able to be cut back tremendously & you could trade techs to them which then vanished) But we m

This lets you take an early lead where godlike AI's shine the most.
Still, the AIs do have the same luxuries. The difference here is that they aren't going to use that time as efficient as a player can - not even close - and that's one side of the problem. And their early t

AFAIK the AIValue on techs is used by the AI to determine its value when techtrading, although ironically there's a second tag (WillingnessToTrade) which plays right into this, as well. His researchbehaviour is mostly influenced by his AIP in relevance to his global needs. You can trick him into doing specific things by mis-labelling categories. Although that bears also the danger of sometimes doing more harm than good "confusing" him... Now back to the Krynn.. their specific uniq

Willy, about these 2 espionage buildings - the problem with too many espionage bonuses is that it breaks the AI game. He can't adjust the sliders intelligently, ie. he will pump enourmous amounts of money into espionage but when his economy crumbles he can't !he's unable to! reduce the espionage slider to 0. All he can do is decrease it by a tiny step. However, he's able to decrease the general production slider instantly to 20%, then saving money, and this enables him to even
