If you could only play 3 games this year, what would they be?
Hm as a husband and father, I only have time to play 3 different games! :P 1, Sins (includes modding) 2, Dawn Of War 2 3, Demigod (if it is realy that good)
Are these going to be custom, player made maps?
yes, i'll make one or maybe more by myself. but everyone who downloads the mod can make own maps with the Galaxy Forge Tool.
Not as far as i know. The textures are attached to the meshes and you can only randomly assign 5 different mesh setups to a planet entity. The stats can only altered via planet bonuses or abilities. Maybe we get Terraforming with one of the next expansions?!
I am not shure if cybdevil is reading this thread maybe you should pm him or post in his thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/309307 I was just using his work and for me it looked fine, I only made the mercury texture, and that looks not good.
How do i post screenshots? i have a few i want to show you.
Upload them on a server and use the insert image button. And sorry that I had no time for putting m
Why not make the research for these spheres a level 6 in the same category as the rest of the planet research?
I am not sure what the best way is, cause both the "dyson sphere" and "the Citadel" are very special planets and I will use them only in special scenario maps. Which means I won't add them to any random planet list in the galaxydef.
Will the sphere have the usual tactical slots, or just the SB's?
Maybe a few but no
Woot! I don't know what to answer first. First thanks to all for this hot discussion and ideas you posted here, keep it on!
Will you still be able to put 4 star bases in the grav well with the Dyson Sphere?
I first idea on that was to allow a maximum of 2 starbases per player and 150 mines per player, as a mix of a normal companion star and a planet from my mod. I think 4 star bases ar too much, cause it is not a star that can directly jumped
The requiredplanetbonus works if you follow these steps: 1. Each bonus entity has a min and a max level, e.g. minUpgradeLevelNeeded -1 maxUpgradeLevelNeeded 0 these upgrade level determinate when a bonus is assigned to a planet. -1 => if a scout or ship enters the gravity well the first time 0 => if the planet is the first time colonized 1 => if the planet is the first time explored level 1 2 => if the planet is the firs
Mars Purple?
Someone posted this problem several posts before, that all planets are purple. But after I asked him to send me a screenshot, he never replyed again. I don't know what the problem is, cause on my pc it doesn't look purple. maybe it is a problem with cybdevils texture, I just took them without any changes. Or it has something to do with the grafic card and the settings. I can post a screenshoot and my setting here, later today when i am
The current size is about 3 times larger than a normal sins planet, so the sun inside is very small (mabe artifical ;) ). The size may change if I tested it ingame. Population will be high maybe like on terran planets. Structures health will be very high, cause the colonizable side is inside, and so the siege ships have to do a lot of work ;) All other stats are still undetermined. Maybe someone has an idea? I will give it a special ability if I have a good idea.</
During a discussion about stars and planets , Soland came up with the idea of a Dyson Sphere . Also a few mods out there containing colonizable suns, which are in some way dy
Well, the new planets offered with Celestial Bodies includes, I believe, deep space points. Assuming that phase lanes are a natural phenomenon, the creator decided 'why wouldn't nature plop you down in the middle of nowhere'?
Good description ;) I never tought that complex, it was more a workaround, cause in Haegemonia you where able to travel free around in a solar system. But also the Haegemonia system maps where much smaller than in sins (as far as I remember).
I updated the Entrenchement version of this mod to 0.8b today. There are only minor changes and fixes. You will find the links in the first post. Also all files are now hosted on mediafire. and I repacked the vanilla version 0.7 it contains now also the galaxyforge icons.
PM me if you do make a map like that please would love it
You will get one if the map is finished, but this may take awhile.
One question about avatars and the blogs: will there be an additional size (for uploading) for the blog view?
Since filefront closes in a view days I have begun to move my files and images to mediafire. Also I uploaded some new images. Here is the 2nd table which contains the unique celestial bodies of our sol system: <img style="border: 0;" src="http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/7eb20ef2ecf7c5a3966165edc8c193423g.jpg" border="0" alt="Unlimited Free
In fact, one of NSIS' compression algo's - lzma-solid - is the equivalent of the .lzma files used in linux, aka 7-Zip's compressor right from the SDK. If you wanna ssqueeze every last meg, however, there's Nsis7z, which is an extractor plugin built from the recent 7Zip SDKs that lets you use 7z archives made with x64 7-Zip at custom (read: insane) settings.
Thx Soor
Not sure but what about fileplanet.com? Haven't checked yet butIhave downloaded from there before.
The problem that I have with fileplanet is that downloaders have to subscribe if they want to download something, a lot of users don't like this (me too). In the modding section of sins someone mentioned mediafire.com, but it seems alot slower than filefront. But I will definitely use wincustomize as download mirror. But I also read that it takes about 4-5

Today I just wanted to check my files on Filefront.com and I found this message: "We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when
Yes Dolynick, I have the same opinion! I got these questions also as I used "rar" as compression tool, ok this was a while ago, but since then I am only releasing my stuff as zip. Cause everybody knows how to handle this files. Also if I convert all my changed files back to binary the package becomes much smaller. I will do this with version 1.0 of my mod. Perhaps I will finish the installer for it .I have begun to make a script for NSIS a while ago, that checks everyt
Thats why it wont work! They need to fix that.
I doubt that they will change it, its some way to make shure not everybody could "borrow" thier models for other games. But after my fail post from above. looked around how it can be done, cause i also want to make some new planets based on existing models. I find this maxscript that can read and write .mesh files, but you will need 3dmax 6 or 7. I tried it with gmax (which was the freeware ve
Mines were previously cloaked, becuase of the obvious problem in cloaking in a game of this type it was removed and they were just given the "phased-out ability, they are visable, but cannot be targeted unless a scout disrupts the field
Yes during the beta of entrenchment cloaked mines where a real pain in the a###. The scouts get killed by mines before it could detect them. But also the mine spaming was a problem. Now mines are limited and cost resources for all fac
