Hola Drifter-san! It is nice to see someone playing games regularly besides myself. I too, however, will not be at it at the pace I have been for much longer. Starting an at-home training course that will need most of my gaming time to complete. I never use Terror Stars myself. I prefer the diplomacy/appeasement method at the start of a game and once I get some decent military available try picking off the Minors and the weak. I build all the Wonders none of the Majors do and g

Actually, there is a way to semi-control the UP Agenda but it can be tedious and time consuming to get the issue you are interested in voted on and, hopefully, get the decision you wanted on that issue. I found that the only issue I really care about is getting all the ET races to share their tech with me through the voting of the United Planets. I came across this method of "unrandomizing" the issue: When the AI gives you the warning that the UP meets the following month SAVE THE GAME!

So I read enough to understand why the overall score decreases significantly on occassion due to the aging factor and your various anti-scoring gremlins of the universe. This time, I went from 31st place with a score of 619737 to 24th place with a score of 730596 after posting JUST ONE GAME! Now I know something has got to be wrong because the &^%$#@ system also has posted the 'Former 3rd Place' medal in my profile. I don't even get to finish third in the morning race to the bathroom

This is the second time I have seen my total score drop between score postings. After my 8/24 posting it was 530376. After this mornings posting it is down to 498324. I don't get it. Anyone have any ideas? I am not using any cheats of any kind and don't see how this is happening.

I've had it on Vista since I started and have no troubles. I've never done anything exotic like add mods though; just the basic game. It sometimes runs slow when showing AI battles but a CTRL ALT DEL and cancel helps bypass that.

Hi! First, make sure you are starting out at one of the easier levels as a newbie. Second, strike a balance so you can research the techs you need to help build an early economy (the ones that allow for Banking and Trade) as well as increase population (Basic and Improved Environments) so you can increase your population through higher planet quality using Soil Improvement and Habit Improvement because more people = more tax money. Third, once you have Trade build frei

Mandrall, The scoring system has been down for about one month. I have contacted Stardock and they say it is on the Web Developer's list of fixes. However, after one month, it is obviously not a priority of theirs. Do what I am doing -- which is saving each game to resubmit once it is operational again (sometime this decade?). Dragonshrike

Hi Beastmaster! I've finally received an answer from Stardock support. They are aware of the problem and stated it is on the WebDeveloper's list of fixes. However, it has been almost a month since it broke, they also told me there is no estimated fix date, therefore it is obviously low on their list of priorities. Dragonshrike

I have also found at the more difficult levels that spending money on destabilizing a race that is spiraling down from Neutral to Cool to Wary to Hostile to At War sometimes slows and even reverses this trend and keeps them off your back while you are playing catchup.

I saw Gal Civ II in stores during Xmas and it looked great. But I figured I would need to know Gal Civ I first so picked it up. This is a great game and I am posting my scores to the Metaverse even though all my random searches of other players haven't found a single score posted since 2007 (though I know there are others still posting scores). I would say this site is still live albeit on life support. If dead, there's no way they'd pay for the upkeep.

Can anyone tell me where to get a description (with a picture) of what all the little symbols that surround each star represents? I understand most such as defended and capitols but a few (such as the Pirate Skull & Crossbones) have me stumped. Thanx! Dragonshrike Citizen, Lieutenant [Yeah for me] :D
