Forgive my ignorance, but could this be done with digital distribution? Say, like, I get my friends to download Impulse prior to a LAN, give 'em my login details and tell them to install Demigod... Would this work? Furthermore, if I were to do this, what's in place to stop my friends from abusing this, afterwards? If they like the game, I'd like to encourage them to, y'know, BUY IT . But if they have a completely functional copy on their PC already (well, excl

As a guess, I'd say that balancing 8 different characters, each with their own unique skills, (not to mention the variations one can experience in differing builds of the same character) is already challenging enough for the developers. They're definitely attempting to go for quality over quantity in this regard. This actually was brought up a while ago by a number of DotA players, who are used to having god-knows-how-many playable classes at their d
Reinforcements still march across a pair of invisible "lane"-like patterns through the middle of the map, but strictly speaking, no, there are no "lanes" in the traditional sense. I really like this map because of that extra element of freedom imparted to Demigods, if not the creeps. :)
I've been getting this as well. Occassionally the lag spikes will actually last for up to a minute or more. However, I suspect these are exceptional cases related to my ISP periodically cutting out, or something.
You know what this means though, don't you? The instant some new player sees this being done, they're gonna start shouting "OMFG PREIST HAX!!1!1"
GLaDOS ftw!
If you like GLaDOS so much, why don't you marry it? WELL I WON'T LET YOU! Banned for having intimate feelings for a fictional artificial intelligence.
Its not really a bug though, because the animations never completely finish.
Regardless of how this effect is achieved, I would argue that the end result is a bug, insofar as that it detracts from gameplay. I've seen it with Sedna. I targetted someone with a Pounce as he was trying to run away, took a split second to upgrade my Pounce ability to maximize damage, and... Well... inadvertantly screwed myself over, it seems. The animation went off, but I saw no damage indicators or change in my foe's HP.
I actually noticed this when I first signed up for Beta 3. But seeing as it was a bug that I had encountered within my first few minutes of playing, I thought someone else probably would've taken notice of it already, and I subsequently put it out of my mind. But this issue is still present in Beta 3F. In order to invoke the bug, the proceedure is thus: Purchase 4 of any single usable item (Scrolls, Potions, etc.). All four items must be of the same type, so tha
I've noticed this on two occasions tonight. Once while using Rook's Hammer Slam, and again when using Sedna's Pounce. The proceedure is thus: First, initiate an ability that is intended to deliver damage to an enemy or creep. (I suggest using Rook's Hammer Slam for this proceedure, due to it's innately slow nature.) Now, BEFORE the attack delivers it's damaging payload, UPGRADE that specific ability in your demigod's skill tree. Your demigod will still perform the animation fo
Whilst accessing Demigod WITHOUT a functional Internet connection, attempt to log in to your Impulse account via the Multiplayer>Internet>Login in-game menu selections. You'll eventually be greeted by an error message that claims that your username and/or password are invalid. This is despite the fact that the user's entered details could actually be completely and totally valid. It's the complete lack of an Internet conne
Yeah, the in-menu stuttering has been around for a while. Contrary to your experiences though, I actually thought I noticed a slight improvment with 3F. It's still definitely there though, and is particularly noticable when selecting a demigod to play as.
I thought it made perfect sense. Happy go-lucky magic-boy is suddenly exposed to heretofore-unseen phsychological suffering (what with every soul that he had loved being being burnt alive before his very eyes, not to mention his own subsequent cremation), which naturally results in his mind breaking beyond any hope of repair. Divine spark allows magical boy to return to (un)life as a charred corpse. Now, if you've watched many horror films, the following equation should make s
I strangely didn't hear anything about it when they were last fixed, but for a long time I've been able to keep my Achievement progress. The issue seems to have returned as of 3F, and I've consistently noticed problems with my Achievments being reset and/or rolled back. ... Although I'm not sure if this is actually intended, what with the stat wipe that the devs are doing prior to release...? EDIT: I'm not in any way certain, but I begin to wonder if this proble
I just had the same problem when trying to join a custom game. When I tried to alt+tab out, the Demigod app crashed from some form of "Fatal Error".
... So THAT'S why all the flagpoles smell of asparagus! [e digicons]:(O[/e]
I actually haven't had this happen to me until... Just now. [e digicons]>_>[/e] I had actually Alt-Tabbed out of Demigod to do some forum-surfing whilst I wait for a match to start up, and when I came back, I was greeted with a frozen loading screen, and an Unhandled Exception: (EDIT: It would seem that I can consistently replicate this error, simply by being Alt-Tabbed out of Demigod, at the time when the next map starts to load)
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0x
EDIT: Issue resolved. :)
Third: it seems that speed items do not stack. i bought some boots and an anklet and my speed did not increase to 25% higher, but stayed right on 10%. is it supposed to be like this?
That's strange. Regularly, Speed items do, in fact, stack. I know because whenever I get to an endgame scenario with the Rook, I pile on heaps of +Speed gear to make one ridiculously swift stone behemoth... But I don't often use the Swift Anklet favour item though, so perhaps the problem li
Ah! Thanks Pakoito. That worked like a charm. [e digicons][/e] Note to Stardock/GPG: An automated /reconnect code loop might be nice, for players who are unaware of the above workaround.
IMO, I don't see why projectiles follow units after they've teleported. They should really just miss.
Maybe... But personally, I think there should be an exception for Regulus' Snipe. Why? Because seeing a red-hot snipe projectile perform a high-speed 180 degree turn is, in my opinion, flipping hilarious. Meh. Regulus' appearance always DID strike me as being a tad boring, anyway. So... Go Dogulus! [e digicons]:dog:[/e]
Well... We might not be able to pin point the problem, but I wonder, if we/Stardock/GPG start to reassess the way experience and gold bonuses from Demigod kills are currently handled, perhaps we could at least lessen the overall effect of what Xan is talking about. Presently, if one side gains a significant advantage in Demigod VS Demigod combat, they can continue to ride that wave until the end of the match, by repeatedly stomping on t
If that is desirable... Done. I've removed the quoted data from OP for the purpose of cleanliness, and shovelled it off over here.
As each map loads up, prior to a match, Demigod will always display one of a selection of basic "Tips" relating specifically to the player's chosen Demigod, correct? Well, one of the tips relating to Sedna is presently incorrect. The one I'm thinking of states that "Inner Grace allows Sedna and her allies to use abilities more frequently". Inner Grace does not actually do this. It is the Magnificent Presence ability that lowers cooldowns. <img src="http://i15.photobu
