I noticed in Brad's game examples that he talks about how much time has passed and how long so and so has been in power. How did he know that? Is there a dating feature that I don't see? I only see a turn counter. I wish there was a date, it adds to the realism to know how much time passes...

An update screen that pops up at the end of your turn ala Galciv 2 that shows at an easy glance everything that happened that turn. Like improvements built, units created, stuff like that...I know there's a thing on the right of the screen, but then you have to hover over each item to see what it is...
Is it possible to level your sovereign through actions outside of combat? I want to play mine as more the wizard in the tower type.
This is a good question. I usually try to play peaceful games, so my Sovereign will always be low level?

Guy, did you play Galciv when it first came out? It took a while for Stardock to perfect that game. Buying a game from Stardock isn't like buying a mario disk for your wii. It's a long term relationship with constant communication from the developers about fixes and additions. Seriously, with what other game company can you actually speak to the CEO and address your concerns, AND have him answer?? I have no doubt that Elemental will follow a similar path as Galci

It looks like you're looking for a strategy guide more than a manual. A manual will tell you 'how', but it usually doesn't tell you 'when'. It does a pis-poor job of telling someone HOW to play the game. It's a lot of fluff and not a lot of meat and potatoes. I'm

one other question. If I buy the deluxe version, or the regular retail box version, what is the manual like? I love a good printed manual, but these seem to be going away lately. I'd be happy if it was as nice as the one that comes with Galciv 2 Ultimate Edition...

What we are seeing now, if not final are very near it.. they chose an artistic style based on Alphonse Mucha works, you can read more in a interviewe with Stardock's Scott Tykoski from Aug of 2009 on ign http://pc.ign.com/articles/101/1019369p1.html there has been other discussion both on these forums and in other interviews it

When I play a game of GalCiv, inevitably at least one of the AI's will get weapon tech's super fast, like Laser I, II, III, and IV after six months or so of game time. That's barely enough time for me to get to level one of a weapon. How is this possible? I play on 'tough', so the AI shouldn't be getting bonuses or anything...
