there it is! thanks.

Hello, I want to edit some race stuff and I can't find the raceconfig.xml file. The file location that is posted on these forums doesn't exist in my computer. I'm using ToA 2.03 and Windows 7 64-bit. Do you know where it is?
Quoting charon2112, reply 1I have noticed that after very few turns in the early game, the AI civs will suddenly have a bunch of techs that would impossible to research normally. So I ended up quick buying a counter espionage building on all of my planets--about 50, yeah it was expensive. I thought it would remove existing spies, but unfortunately it didn't. Eventually I nullified all foreign agents and won a tech victory...
I play 'tough' right now, and I always have tech brokering off.
There are a few techs that have slightly varied costs depending on the civilization, but I'm not aware of any differences of the magnitude that your experience suggests (aside from NLCs for Torians). It may have more to do with TA's tech-count inflation...at certain points, inflation rises from 1x/2x for non-weapon/weapon to 1.4x/2x, then to 2.1x/4.5x, and
In GalCiv 3, I would like to see: -complete visibility in my influence area. -the AI have to build scouts and explore the galaxy, i can't stand the AI immediately bee-lining for good planets and resources in four different directions on an immense map. -three or four additional races. -more diplomatic options, like the ability to ask for an enemies surrender, or demand the AI withdraw their ships. -an option to turn off espionage.
The espionage problem charon2112 describes seems to be a play style thing. It almost never happens to me because I tend to stick to the middle of the power-ranking pack on very large maps until well into the game. By the time I'm strong enough to start attracting heavy espionage attention from the AIs, they've burned most of their assets amongst themselves and I have a fat stack of reserve spies to zap the occasional intruder.
&nb
Sometimes it really kills the game for me. Right now I'm playing a good game as the Yor, and every turn or two, one or more spies pops up on my planets. I have about 12 of them on various planets and they're popping up faster than I can create new agents to nullify them, even at 100% spy production. Maybe in Galciv III or an update for Galciv II, we can get an option in the game setup screen to turn off espionage.
Hey Brad. Now that Elemental is coming along nicely, and GalCiv III must be somewhere out there, PLEASE remember this thread, and PLEASE do not add multiplayer... you're initial post covers the reasons why perfectly. Thanks for the great games. Rick
weird. I d-loaded with avg off. Still does nothing when I click or do right click > open. the computer "thinks" for about 2 seconds and then nuthin'
Hey, thanks for checking. maybe if I disable AVG...
I believe the 2.0 one comes in a .zip file. Is it not extracting the .zip at all, or is it the .exe that isn't working? I need to grab it anyways, but I won't be able to till after work this evening. Then maybe I can see what that version is doing. I'm also on Win7 64 so any problem may repeat itself. I know the DA one installs itself in the wrong location and I had to manually copy the mod to the right directory, but it still had all the dialogue
I seem to be having another problem, double clicking the mods setup program or right click > open doesn't do anything. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit. help! :) Thanks...
I just recently grabbed and installed the DA version and though the comments on the site claimed it had viruses I haven't found any and it's working fine. I know both Logic Sequence and the guys that run Imod and have never had a virus issue with anything from/through them. Could be a false positive with AVG, but you could try to PM Stefan at Imod to have him look into your concerns for peace of mind.
PM'ing Stefan i
just quick save regularly, if the event happens, load the previous save and it probably won't happen again. I do this for the dread lords mega event, which I hate.
anyone have any experience with this at all?
This is interesting, because this hasn't been my experience playing at all. I play ToA, and tough difficulty. The AI regularly builds a huge military and very aggressively comes after me and defends their planets. They amass large fleets and defend their transport ships. So...weird. I don't know what to tell you.
So I've finally come around to buying the complete edition of GalCiv 2.
Why, when I download this from the link provided on this website, does my AVG virus scanner detect a virus? I really want to use this mod, but I obviously have concerns because of this. Has anyone else detected a virus in this mod? Please help. Thanks.
I just downloaded this mod from the official link and opened it, my AVG virus scanner went nuts reporting multiple threats inside the download...what's up with that?
If there is a mod that improves graphics, I'd be interested in that. Not that the graphics are bad. :)
when you say that the game hangs, do you mean that the 'turn' button is grayed out?
I would like to have complete visiblity within my civilizations influence borders. ie: no fog of war.
IMO, all of your influence area should be clear and visible. I wouldn't mind seeing this in a future patch.
Thanks. I didn't know about that test. Very informative. Why can't the devs make the AI have to search just like a player. It's really unfair and unbalanced.
charon2112 - The AI does know where every planet and resource anomaly is from the start. There have been many threads on this, with several players recounting their playtesting of it. At one point, a player found a juicy plane
