The AI ABSOLUTELY cheats. I regularly see the following on 'tough' difficulty, and it's very annoying: On an immense map, the AI will--within maybe ten turns--suddenly take three or four galactic resources in completely different directions that are very far away from their homeworld. There's no way they legitimately explored that huge an area and discovered them, they just bee-lined directly for them. So the AI absolutely knows where things are right

I think the OP is referring to a game ending a'la Civ 4, where there is a limited number of turns, and then the game just ends. Galciv is different than this, as long as no one wins, the game will go forever.
but to actually kill the SB you have to divert almost all of your SC to do so which allows your opponent to jump in a fleet and thrash you with their SC and Ships
so the SB alone can't really defend a gravity well? Isn't that what they were designed to do? Protect a GW while you take your fleet out for an attack...?
True, but when you run away from a gravity well with a Starbase (even to retreat), you lose 30% of all of your ships health and all of your ships antimatter. Which means if you skip a starbase, not only is your escape route extremely dangerous, but you're fleet is easy pickings if you happen to run into an enemy fleet soon afterwards. Also late game most planets have a starbase at every planet, so trying to just run to the enemies homeworld without

...because you can simply avoid their area of effect. Even the moving Vasari Orkus can easily be run from. I think SB's range should be the entire gravity well. Except maybe for a blind spot on the opposite side of the planet the SB is next to.

actually, I have a great solution for the OP. see the two SoaSE icons? one says 'entrenchment' and one doesn't...click the one that doesn't. Because clearly Entrenchment is not for you. You're complaining about all the things that make starbases's great.

To the people that want detailed, tactical combat, just...no. This is not that kind of game. Noone complains that you can't target a barbarians arm or head in the Civ games. As the leader of a huge civilization, you shouldn't have to deal with that, that's for your ships captains. That said, I have an unrelated idea. I would like to be able to set waypoints for a ship. For instance, click on a scout, hold 'W' and right click a series

Regarding the music CD. I would really like to get it. I purchased retail SINS and purchased and downloaded Entrenchment, can I at some point download this CD? I think this should be available to anyone who has purchased the game. Especially since the music CD is just an extra, and not a retail product by itself. Thanks.

Hi guys, I think I finally would like to give multiplayer a go. So on the Entrnchment main menu I click Ironclad Online, then I setup an account. I enter a username, password, cd key, and email, click ok or apply...and Entrenchment just completely locks up. I have to do a hard reset. Has this happened to anyone else...? Thanks.

Umm, just a comment. Game development is not a democracy. I truly hope that Ironclad only gives these suggestions a passing glance, but they ultimately should make the game that they want to make. Some people will love it, and some won't. But the last thing the SINS makers should do is change the game based on a forum vote. By taking everyones suggestions and trying to make a game that pleases everyone, they will end up with a broken mess of a game.
I've heard conflicting info about exactly how combat is supposed to work. I'm not entirely sure ifn the devs know themselves! In any case, my understanding is that CTB is a little like chess: one guy from your side moves, then one guy from the other side moves, then you can move another guy, and so on.
I hope it's like GalCiv2, with a pausable combat viewer.
