I'd be up for it. It would give me a way to contribute, as I'm a big pencil and paper D&D fan, but I'm too new to Elemental-style games to help much in giving feedback on the Beta. It might be fun to have two/three people control each "team", have a captain and a second, so that there is a little bit of backup for flakey folks.

One tactic used in combat through the ages is intentional wounding. To wear down your economy, I intentionally injure-and-not-kill, so that you have to take care of those soldiers. In elemental, I'd imagine it working like this: wounded soldiers still cost you the same upkeep. They go into a grand total of wounded soldiers, of which a certain percentage of them are healed each turn, and a certain percentage die. These percentages could then be effected by techn

The big benefit of having rivers run between tiles is that they look more realistic. This is because they are more to scale, and the fact that they don't have to fill up entire squares makes it look more natural. I'm all for rivers on tiles - I never realized how much of a pain it was in Civ3/4 until you mentioned it and went "Oh yeah!" This, however, causes all sorts of scaling issues - either: A: You make the river small in the middle of the tile. &nbs

Witch hunt much? This is really, really, REALLY something we should be reporting to Stardock privately and they can draw their own conclusions based on the number of reports surrounding the same people. Accusing people of cheating is not something that should be done lightly.

Hahaha. Like I said, I'm not an expert, but I can certainly teach someone new to be better. :) There have been a few requests from beginners looking to sharpen their skills recently.

Some thoughts on why your wife likes what she likes: 1. Easy introduction, but deep gameplay. Neverwinter Nights has a lot under the hood, but the gameplay itself is pretty easy point and click. All of popcap's games fall under this umbrella, which is why Plants vs. Zombies is no suprise. Even Demigod has been labeled as a beginner RTS, in that you only have the one character to worry about. 2. More o

Bramble Shield is an absolute pain early in the game. The best thing you can do is split up your group, so the queen can't afford to be in the same lane with her allies. Your whole goal here is to not die and not fall down too far in war score until you get a few levels up. Bramble Shield does not scale nearly as well once you're leveled up, and you should be able to run the queen over.

I was under the assumption that chaining from the forces of light/darkness towers did NOT add damage, but chaining your own towers did. I haven't tested this theory, however. I also thought I was able to target with my rook's towers, but it could be coincidence.

School picked up for us, so we're being more selective with our game time and game selection to adjust to that. We will definitely pick our play back up when the two new demigods come out - at the moment, though, we've been a bit burnt out on the traditional game and the time it takes to get stuff going. That having been said, I'm readily available as CasualSax on gmail, and will play if I'm free. :)

As was said repeatedly earlier, 10% level boost means that you hit the next level QUICKER, and that is never more huge than in the beginning of the game. Hitting level 2 spit before they do means I can push them back. The person who buys XP1 is going to be under-itemized, but it will help his team mates greatly.

Thanks for the recommendation hedgie. You're(and anyone) is more than welcome to use our ventrilo server . Password is "cash only". I really would recommend gameservers.com, 10 slots for $4 a month is well worth the reliability and service they provide.

Any chance of getting Torchlight to come to Impulse? It looks like a nice little time burner, and its on Direct2Drive and Steam, but I'd like to support Stardock instead. :)

Five vs. Five pug games are a problem because people do not know their connection and sim speed limitations. Add on to that the fact that pugs have less patience and you get rage quits and drops. 5v5 still works, though - among decent connections and computers. This in and of itself is definitely not Stardock or Gas Powered Games' fault. Now the lack of a player's ability to see who will drop/disconnect/quit did hurt 5v5, but that is being worked out.

I would love to see a graphic novel that was just page after page of Rook's hammer crushing Demigod after Demigod. :) The art style and stories are really pretty cool, but I don't know if the market is there.

Aww heck no... it's gonna go down tonight!
My intention was more to put Kryo in hot water than to insult artists. That having said, bring it!

I doubt the overlay patch changed the way people connect, but as it altered the program, you will probably need to update your firewall settings. Your router might have also reset, and given you some port forwarding issues.
