A: Helped. The mainstream, top of the list artists have suffered - and I suspect we are losing out on a few big budget music projects because of it - but it is easier now than ever for a no-name band to get a supportive following. Q. Do you think the internet and file sharing have helped or hurt the gaming world, as it pertains to smaller companies/indie releases?

I motion that we start a Pacov clan. All members who wish to join this exclusive club need to start their name with Pacov-. For instance, I would be Pacov-FutileEmotion, and Pacov would be Pacov-Pacov.

I would like to see a few mainstream, big deal, big time quests that people are building to that have a large impact on the game. I would like these quests to be open to anyone in the game to complete, or at least know about (the last thing I want is a dragon to wreck my city because I didn't research Advanced Lore so I didn't know that the "Aid the Ice Dragon" quest was available). In fact, having a main story line initiated at the game's start, and having all of the quests mov

Life: What's your ISP? What's your router? Are you using a wireless card? Can someone at Stardock log on to his account and test the download in a different location? Can you take the computer to a different internet source and try to download it? I'm really curious as to what is causing this issue.

A quick catch: When you check out, you can see the coupon code that is used to apply the discount. You can then use that code with any store, whether they have seen the promo or not. A simple "Special promotion" flag on the coupon could turn this: "* The XXXXXX coupon has saved you $18.00." Into: "Taking part in a special promotion has saved you $18.00."

The FPS genre will continue to move forward. Companies are still producing new engines (like Valve's Source), and as long as they do that companies won't have to invest a lot of man hours to get a decent game. A company like valve produces a new engine and makes a star example of what that engine can do. It doesn't have to do much more than break even, and the licensing will turn a profit. And in Valve's case, every game they make gets more people to download Steam, wh

I wouldn't mind my computer auto-downloading demos of new releases, actually - if we could just get a smart way of figuring out when I'm not using my computer and no one else is using my internet connection, I'd be all for it.

From me:
Theres that troll again, when will he learn? [e digicons]:troll:[/e]
From OsirisDawn:
@FutileEmotion Coming from an analyst background myself i must say that Nesrie has a strong point here. It doesnt matter in this discussion tho, 'cause Frogboys point was something completly different, as i understand.
Nesrie's point is very valid, I would agree - but I was actually picking at Frogboy,

Yes, if they pre-order they will automatically get into the next round of betas (whenever that is). And Christmas is only about a month away, so not that long of a wait. :)

I like the idea of different grade materials going into weapons, but I don't like the idea of having lots of different types of resources scattered on the map for me to keep up with. What if a simpler system was used, where all metal shows up on the map as a light gray to dark gray. The darker the metal, the higher the quality/richer the deposit. When you first start, all metal on the map is visible, but it all appears as light gray. As you advance in tech, you reali

I think it means that it detects two monitors, but when you click on each one you can set the resolution. the second monitor is off unless you flag it as "attached." Other than that, I'm not really sure what could be going on. =\ EDIT: I'm looking at the properties screen, not the driver window.

Chill out. We know they're working on it. We know Stardock cares. We know that even the Stardock CEO plays the game . This has been beaten to death, resurrected, and then killed again.
