Tried him again a few games today, focusing on surviving the early levels. I bought the two low-level armors and used blood of the fallen to start. Didn't want to buy priests then sell priests - it feels like an exploit to me. Anyways, worked well. I avoided DGs until level 5. Built up my spirits, soul power and penitence with a smattering of shield, surge of faith and divine justice. Rolled the competition. Thanks guys! Oak has been upgrade

Ragequitting should be allowed in Crucible. A crucible match is settled in 10 minutes: first team to knock down the other team's two initial towers wins the game. Before those towers drop, Crucible is interesting. After those towers drop, it's just an excercise in good sportsmanship because everyone knows who is going to win.
OK, yea. I've been romped by Oak before. I know he can be good. I just can't use him. Good tips though on early game survivability. Think I'll buy both low armors and just focus on not dying until 5ish next time. BUT! Still don't think Oak is the best. He tries to do too many things and, while I have a hard time killing him, I can consistently push him out of lane, which is good enough.
What in the hell does Oak do right? Seems like everything he's famous for is done better by someone else. Survivability is better in QoT. Damage is better in Reg. I don't know - I just can't win with him. What's the secret?
Pantheon/Skirmish connection for me is now as bad as it was at launch. I wish I could roll back to May 20th - best connections so far. Between last night and today, I've clicked on 'Fight' and been into probably 2 dozen lobbys, none of which have connected. I'm still running into the same old problem where there are 1 or 2 people who just can't connect. But now I have a new problem: the connection info dialog will show 'Waiting for connection data' and never go
standing in the middle of a creep wave while having a constant health drain is NOT too minute a difference to be of any significance. the risk factor alone is a gigantic handicap. the general narrowness of Ooze is yet another. the more effective builds of Beast don't use Ooze at all. you'd be deviating from a proven Demigod crunching cookie cutter build (Spit, Grasp, Inner Beast) to get a high risk farming ability. TB (and every other DG I listed) gets those hi
these are all remarkable advantages that greatly exceed the capabilities of Unclean Beast. i didn't even count the fact that Queen and Oak can be assisted by minions during their farming. Beast cannot farm creeps at the speed of those DGs and he cannot do so without paying much more health than those DGs. he is altogether a much less efficient creeper, on the low end of the creeping efficiency spectrum.
Keep in mind, you only need to do 25% damage to get credit for the
Am I the only one who thinks that the tower health upgrades are almost useless? The first one is cheap enough that it doesn't really matter and I'll buy it sometimes if the enemy is pushing early. But in 90% of games, by the time the enemy starts pushing it only takes 10 seconds to knock a tower down. The health regen just can't keep up.
That rook is an ass. Also, hoarding gold is good if your team has the clear lead. If you're battling tooth-and-nail for dominance, it may be better to use the gold immediately and establish dominance. Regarding whether to push an empty lane or defend a full lane... I'd recommend splitting the team. 2 guard the full lane and prevent the enemy from taking a tower. They should play very safe - not die. The goal is to halt the enemy. They need t
It's not just a 1 second window. 1 sec to open + 1 sec to ground spike + 1 sec to close + 1 sec to cast sheild again. 4 seconds (roughly, shorter if you're quick with your keyboard shortcuts). Granted, this isn't a gaping hole of a problem. But factor into that the lost autoattacks and splitting your mana between ground spikes and a potentially critical shield. All together, it makes me personally nervous.
In addition, it's now worth it to change forms and open up to access her AoE attack this is true for EVERY single map... idk what you're even talking about....
Just saying that ground spikes isn't worth the cost of changing forms and potentially opening yourself up to running out of mana or getting spike damaged in a 1v1. But when you've got a teammate, two things change: You don
I normally rag on QoT pretty hard. I've had pretty miserable results with her so far. But I played a couple 2v2 matches with her on Prison and we trounced. One of her big problems is that she can either stay open and do OK damage while sacrificing survivability or she can stay closed and be wildly resilient while doing lackluster damage. On a big map with clearly defined lanes, this means she's going to pushed out more often than she pushes. On Prison, she ca
quoting post Every demigod (except QoT) dominates in the late game. This is wrong.
Why is it wrong? Details please. If I can get to late game with any DG (specced according to the game at hand, I dominate. Except QoT. I still lose with her.
I read a ton of posters who say something along the lines of "When I get leveled up, I dominate but I keep dying early game." My message to you is that, in 80% of games, your late build is irrelevant. Every demigod (except QoT) dominates in the late game. What really matters is who can get there first. Learn how to do these things: Spend more time in the lane than the enemy. (Send enemy running, don't die, kill every once in a while)
I think effects from multiple TBs stack, allowing for 4X. Not positive tho...
Invest first in venom spit and the +attack speed skill. Use venom spit and high auto-attack as your primary weapons. Then get grasp to interrupt fleeing/tricksy demigods. When you can fit it in, use ooze to counter auto-attack demigods and creep farm. There's an assasin favor item that increases attack speed by 5% with a chance to proc for even faster attack speed. You want this. Buy scaled helm, banded armor to start. Spend the re
This is a list of general principles that every newbie needs to know. I'm counting on the community here to help me flesh it out. Please contribute! I'll check in once a day or so and update the thread with new suggestions. I'll start with my favorite: 1. Don't die! Three very bad things happen when you die: The enemy gets anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 gold The enemy gets a ton of XP You are unabl
Tried mines and they aren't my fave. Mines are great for killing lots of creeps. If you're getting rolled by creeps, its worth putting a point in. Two problems when fighting demigods. First, you can't as reliably hit a demigod with a mine. You either need to throw it at him (short range) or lure him into them, making it a bad burst damage avenue. Second, the damage per second for mines is too low.
Buying the HP items is legitimate and it's a pretty common choice. Just not my fave. If you play smart, you won't need the extra HP. There is a middle path, one I take sometimes. I'll buy the 250GP health potion. This will save me in a pinch, it's cheaper than the armor. Also, it allows me to convince enemy demigods to overextend. I'm at 25% health, Unclean Beast thinks he has a kill so he follows me into range of friendly towers. I pop my pot
I've been playing the Pantheon as Regulus and had modest success with this strategy. The goal is to max out Regulus's damage per second and to allow burst damage to finish off weak Demigods. Regulus can then efficiently farm creeps for gold/XP and scare off other demigods. I focus on upgrading Divine Vengence. Secondary focus is Snipe and I put one point into Sniper Scope so I can kill towers. I also put a point in Tracking Device so I can snipe those severely
