I use the Custom Game browser to find other Australians for less laggy games than either Skirmish or Patheon will provide as they often lump me in with Americans and Europeans, with our in game pings climbing over the 450 mark in some games.

Some times people will join whatever games are available simply because they want to play. Segmenting the player base into skill levels helps ensure a fairer, and theoretically more fun, experience for all involved - however, sometimes this takes a back seat when there is only one game available.

What is it about being physically present that prevents you from joining your friends' games?[/quote] When sitting at a friends house, with less than 5 people present, playing online isn't really a bad idea. However, going to a mass organised LAN with 150 people present, and stable internet access becomes an issue. There's a difference between LANs and LAN Parties; one is an organise

If I'm not mistaken, Demigod doesn't require Impulse to be running in the background. Adding Demigod to your list of Steam Games should enable the use of the Steam overlay while Demigod is running. You may need to remove the Impulse Overlay DLL to ensure this.

The title of your game should be a clear indication of what your doing - however more often than not, it's completely ignored and at the very worst abused. Stating your game is for Australian players only, for example, will still see plently of European and American players join briefly, pause to complain and tell us all to "...get better fuckin' connections before playing online", because their ping to us is over 400, before quitting. I'm not trying to be rude, bu

If this is true, then it shows just how disconnected Blizzard has become from it's fans. Starcraft is a massive, massive game at LANs and for the sequel to not include LAN support of any kind is going to cost them dearly. If this is suppost to encourage online play and prevent piracy, it'll have the direct opposite - rampent piracy, LAN hacks and gameplay over hamachi will be the way this game gets played.

I think, to a degree, the release state of a game can define your game's performance overall. The stigma of a bad release can haunt a game till it's dying day, however Demigod is a little different from other games in that the game itself is fantastic, and nearly all of it's problems are technical glitches and not bad design choices. Several games, most notably World of Warcraft which went to become the most successful MMORPG ever made, have released in a similar state - I think the

I wouldn't call it a lie, so much as an intended feature which was removed. Once modding gets underway, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw fans add in some kind of extended single player package.

I've often pondered this myself, however I think it would ultimately be a bad thing. Being able to rebuild, even at an escalating cost, some of the destroyed towers would really only delay a game's end - if you're constantly having to rebuild your towers you're clearly not defending properly. And if you could rebuild your towers then there wouldn't be as much urgency in defending your towers as there currently is.

Ok, you seem to think that I'm one of the people who believe when you play a game of Demigod you don't get out of your computer chair until the game is done . Not so, and sorry if I've come across that way. I have no problems with people having a life, I'd much rather they tend to their child or speak with their friend or partner than continue to play the game - and as is bleedingly obvious, everyone at some point is probably going to have to do this. I've done it myself. Nothing wron

Away From Keyboard. And if you think every person who goes 'AFK' is actually AFK, then you don't understand the mentality of a farmer. If you're after the maximum amount of favour points who can get in the shortest time possible what would you do: play for 10 minutes, without moving, lose the game and get 45 favour or play for an hour, maybe win and maybe get 200 favour.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the movie. The special effects were great, however it just lacked soul; the death of Prime just didn't have enough impact for example, and the 'epic' feel of it was lost in between the inconsistant characters and pointless sub-plots. I'd love to be able to turn off my brain and enjoy the movie, however it's my brain that generates the enjoyment so I don't think is a fair requirement; I didn't turn my brain off for the first movie and I enjoyed it quite a bit.<

I tend to disagree, both Bethesda and id have produced classic games in the last 5 years, and considering the time frame that these companies work on their games I believe this falls into the "many, many years" bracket.

In my experience with other multiplayer games, usually this kind of behaviour is to avoid the 'Rage quit' being recorded against them - however, unlike Rage Quitting, there is no real way to prevent someone going AFK. It happens in every multiplayer game, often in Team Fortress 2 there will be 2 or 3 AFKers at one time and it can really hurt. It's usually the other person farming something - such as favour. And adding code that would detect someone not moving won't work; they'll just cli

This is very odd, as I've yet to experience a single crash with 1.1. Perhaps it's something that all of the people who are crashing have in common, as there has to be a reason that my game doesn't crash when others do. Can you please post the details of your computer system and we'll see if can't figure out what might have happened. Can you please also give a brief description of what was happening when the crashed occured - if they all occured at the loading screen, for example, it'l
