In the stream he said for the over all map he preferred a Circle or a square but not a hex. For the map itself to be hexes as he liked them for space games.

Thats it? no mention of him actually working on the AI? Why the Hex hate?
I dont know how anyone else feels but I want the AI to be upset with me and tell me via the Diplomacy Screen. I also want to be able to voice my complaints/insults/anger back at the AI. Now whether this does anything is not the point. I want to be able to simply tell him things like.... "I SEE YOU BUILT a Culture Center in our space" .. i am not happy... I would also like the AI relationship to degrade while a culture base is 'encroaching' in their space, or a f

Yea I figured as well. I know they have their hands full with Combat right now and not much forum browsing...
I would like to request the old GC II notifications of anyone building something of note. ....Darca of the Terran Peoples Republic of Socialism, has completed the Obama Care Act.... Ok seriously, like the ...'Altarians completed the Social Matrix, truly a Galactic Acheivement" or the basic... "The Dregin have built a Financial Capital", this can kinda give me two bits of information.... 1), that race is getting better.. &
Can anyone recap what Brad said? Just wondering what he mentioned.
Oh? I actually watched 'most' of the last stream. Ill have to restart and watch the whole thing now...
No answer eh?
Like the title says..... We were told that Brad was going to work on the actual AI these months up to the release of the combat viewer. I kinda had my hopes up that our Lead Commander Brad, was at the helm creating the Ultimate AI that will bring folks like Lucky Jack, Marvin, Myself and Darca to our knees...begging for help and having to go back to 'beginner' to learn how to play..... (one can hope)....
I like the look the Devs did for them. i imagine that is what the super-massive ones look like if you could safely view one at that angle and distance. The jets are great. I would like them fewer and placed a bit better. i have not problem with one parked next to or just 'yonder' on my home system as long as there are no more for a bit.
Just to Clarify, I believe Paul made a comment that there is no proof or that Astronomers still are on the fence about black Holes. ahem... They are a fact of our Universe. They exist. We have observational proof that one exists in the center of our Galaxy. On that note, I would prefer if there were only 4 to 5 at MOST per HUGE galaxy. They really seem to clutter up the void spaces of the map. +2 Cents
Yes I want to add another question, Can we see an example of the new 'Combat Viewer' in action? PULLLLEEEEEZE??
When will we get Minor Races? Will the Combat update include tweaks to AI diplomacy, for example Making the Drengin a bit more callous and aggressive or the Iridium willing to open trade for the sake of trade? Thanks!
On paper that sounds fine but we would need an auditory or visual cue while in game to remind me to visit Alderan IV after 35 turns when the population reaches 12.6 billion so I can also build two more factories, another Farm, a Research coordination center and the new Quantum power plant...... Over all I like the trade off of increased tiles limited by population. However, the over all feel, feels like limiting me in choices because I will have to wait on population pr
Welcome to Gal Civ III and the forums. Some of the things you asked for are likely not going to pas (moving planets to better orbits) but some are still up in the air (mining asteroids or nebulae) Right now Beta is 'fair' and it is getting better. Back in alpha or even before Diplomacy it was more challenging with some issues. Again, welcome to the forums, you are in for a great ride to our release of Gold!
Ok, so this would mod the game to raise the amount of tiles you could terraform while also changing how many improvements you can actually have at any one time based on current population? Am I reading that right? I am ok with production buildings or research or any others 'limited' by population. However what I would like to see is being able to place them where I want and they 'build' when population reaches the required goal to
I gave Mars to Iridia and got a planet from them. I put up a culture starbase nearby and got it back about 10 turns later. Whats odd is the icon for the planet is still iridia....
Yea i fired up GC II and the main map had NOTHING on it. It was AWESOME. I say this because the exploration part was great. I know we can look out our telescopes and see the stars and if they have any planets. However I remember my GC II games fondly and again exploring NOT knowing where stuff was made their discovery even that much more enjoyable. All I am asking for is a toggle. How it was in GC II would be fine.
Yea Charon, I remember if you rush rush rush and than having to spend 100+ turns doing NOTHING because I have no money or production to do anything till population increases (slowly) so I can tax the hell outta them and start the process all over....
I will fire up GC II tonight. I remember it was kinda like we have now. But I swear there was blind exploration. You 'ran into' a star {or} the stars were there but no planets.
Didn't we have blind exploration in GC II? I remember having to do a 'spiral' pattern from early to mid game to both stars and planets. I will have to fire up a game tonight to see what the game looked like at start....
Do you have any Patches planned prior to the Combat update. I am thinking minor patch fixes or cosmetic or quality of life improvements?
Very true Darca, the fundamentals are not transparent. Everything is driven by population and then by money/credits. Each victory condition is different and can play completely different.
Thanks for the streams folks. I know that in the last stream Paul did not intend to have any more udpates planned until the Combat one. What about patches for minor stuff and such? We have a looooong way to go before Combat (well technically a month but I can't wait!), so I was wondering if there was anything planned in a couple weeks?
