But that complaining was the reason it got nerfed. The same thing is happening to HoL. I'm not saying that they are or aren't balanced, I'm saying the only reason they're seeing nerfs is because people spoke out against those alleged imbalances.
You don't know that. You don't know that GPG's internal balancing testing or them observing the statistics didn't uncover these imbalances and they slated to fix them long before the complaining. You don't know if th
infinite, you're misinterpreting. i'm talking about the percentage improvement in your performance. adding 1000 points of armor always gives a 26.5% reduction in incoming damage, whether you have 1000 or 10000 hp. adding 1000 hp to a 1000 hp character results in a 100% boost, but the 10000 hp character only gets a 10% boost. it's a matter of scaling. at a certain point an armor point will do you more good than a hitpoint.
I know what you're saying and you're right,
The only reason it happened, unbalanced or not, is because people complained about it so much
If you say so. It may be correlated but you can't prove cause and effect. Maybe it *was* actually imbalanced and people complaining was a result of that, not the other way around?
Yes some. The majority however would give a good signal as to what is currently imbalanced and needs some fixing. So I don't quite get what your point is here.
You seriously believe that?
Generally: yes, it's called democracy
This game isn't a democracy - it's whatever GPG decides to do happens.
in the interest of getting as much revenue as possible I assume they'll listen to the majority
The people on the fo
You're setting up a false dichotomy Infinite. Health and Armor complement eachother and most armor items add to health too.
There are several items that boost one or the other - the problem is those items suck not because of the fact that they only provide armor or health but there's usually minion items too or have crap effects that make them over priced. Health Boosting Items with no armor: Unbreakable Boots
I'm sure if you did a poll about what was the most imbalanced thing you'd get some pretty dumb results too. Does that mean you should listen to the majority?
Wasn't a ragepost. I find this thread pretty amussing to be honest and hey, there's no such thing as bad publicity!
Activate save face mode. Actually there is such a thing, because now I know never to play with you. So this topic did serve some purpose after all.
The finale is getting him to ragequit the game permanently.
I really question the need for a thread to call out a couple guys who quit a game on you. Not sure what you are hoping to get out of this....
He already got it. One of the ragequitters already rageposted.
You'd be surprised just how much armor can help you. Would you rather be taking 300 consitant damage mid-game or 150? 150 damage you can shrug off usually, but 300 you can't.
For that much mitigation you could easily double your health or more. Now he's still hitting for 300, and you still take full damage from spit, but your survivability is longer. Health wins again.
Good for you. If I could fraps it happening I would. You'll just have to take my word for it. It's happened to me on Prison when I have a Swift Anklet, as then you can keep up with people and they stay in the attack multiplier range for longer.
I know what you're talking about. The way armor scales it seems like it would make sense to get a balance of health and armor, but so many things in this game simply ignore armor. Until late game (and still only for certain heroes) a majority of the damage you take is going to come from abilities which can't be mitigated at all. Therefore stacking health is both the obvious and the only choice. In Dota certain heroes had "physical" abilities that were effected by arm
Multiplier bug 5-6 times? i've never seen it happen more than a double attack.
It happens most to Queen of Thorns (in closed mode). You'd actually have to play QoT to see it happen that much.
Reg can't chase people around corners.
Most heroes have issues chasing people who go around corners. The sides of Cataract are where most of it occurs. Sometimes your hero will just stop, but more often they will take a strange path
Mmm, I just had a bowl of delicious Crit Error Soup. Buy yours today!

Unfortunately, I was winning the game *face/palm*
"Sorry, crit error, gotta go"
I agree, auto-attack has lots of bugs, that's why i click almost non-stop to attack, just to make sure my DG does what i want
I think doing this triggers something similar to the "Missed Attack" bug and resets your autoattack timer every time you click. I click until I'm sure I'm attacking the target I want and then just let it go. Once you're autoattacking what you want it never seems to break the lock unless something happens like a stun or interrup
the rest of the bugs are universal, which dont make them that serious since everyone have them
Nearly everyone was effected by the skill target bug and that was pretty serious. Most of these bugs are pretty big when they effect battles.
What are you doing the most every game? That's right, autoattacking. I decided to do little write ups for the features, cons, and bugs that are part of everyone's favorite action. I describe the bugs at the bottom of the post. Torchbearer Ice: Torchbearer in Ice mode shoots a icy ball as his autoattack. It's simple, accurate, and doesn't seem to suffer from any particular issues. It deals damage when the ball hits. Torchbearer can attack while movin
One of the modes for ~ is to show bars only above Demigods, which may help you. I use bars over everything (Demigods and creeps)
Crazy comebacks in Cataract are possible because you can steal the side portals and lock them then crank out the creeps. I've won games where I had others on my team 0-10 and the enemies all 2+ levels higher. Other stages - not so much. Exile, Prison, or Crucible - never.
Play fair and all, but don't hand your opponent free treats
What's the treat? They get nothing for killing your priest minions. No exp, no gold. I just hurl the old minions at towers.
But why would you engage someone with their allies if you can see that ally is equipped to strongly counter you? You wouldn't you'd go buy items to make them less of a counter, so how is having multiple opponents different?
Because you want to cap flags and they are there? Because they are attacking your base? Because they're farming the creeps? The same reasons you engage anyone now.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but due to Blizzard's map ed
You and a friend could just sit in a lobby and keep changing your DG selections to ones who are counters to each other, because that is what the gameplay would essentially be, except with items. Your opponent does this, you do that to counter, but then he does this to counter then you do th- and so on.
If the game was 1 on 1 perhaps that would be true. But it's not. Your counter to Demigod A means nothing to Demigods B and C who may have already gotten thi
he means that by showing your items/mana/etc you are showing your cards. it isn't fun to bluff with 2/7 if everybody knows you have them...
And I'm saying that an analogy to poker is massively flawed. In backgammon you don't put your hands over your side of the board and hide it. There's plenty of games where all players can see everything, and many where they cannot. And Demigod isn't any of those games, so comparisons between them are tenuous at best
Online download puts the instruction manual in one of the folders, if I remember correctly....
I am completely for it. It worked in Dota - that much is proven. People still bluffed in Dota, it just wasn't done in the same matter as Demigod (why is he leading me towards the woods when I could kill him there? Is there an ambush? I don't see all the heroes on the minimap, oh crap!) Regardless I don't see it as hurting Demigod, only helping it. What would you do differently RIGHT NOW if you could suddenly see you opponent's inventory. For most as
