If a host wanted to enforce a random game, he could just put it in the title and make everyone play the DG they get assigned randomly, and if they change it, tell them to change back or be kicked. It's messy and inefficient, but if people are really that desperate for ar, the option is there.
But then people could see the match up before the game starts, and will just leave if they don't like it. The surprise is the key.
Anyways, on topic. I
I think its funny how many times rage quit is said on a daily basis with this game... Find a new word.
In Dota we call them "leavers" Don't know why people invented a new term.
Don't worry, that game you left probably didn't count as a loss. It might have even counted as a win!
I am rocking a brand new Ford Mustang after sending in my game.pref and winning! Thanks DalzK! Everyone, you gotta try this!
If anything it's worse now. Needs a fix ASAP. I've seen it with Sedna, Oak, Erebus, Queen of Thorns, and Torchbearer. Anything that requires you to target an ability on a hero.
This has only started happening since the patch too, before they would cleanly drop. Now the game completely destabalizes when someone drops. If people chain drop then you get to go make a sandwich before you can finish the game.
In dota you cant reverse a backdoor. There are also invis heroes and heroes that can teleport anywhere (erebus isn't even close to the same thing) so you can't see it coming.
Only Furion could teleport wherever on demand. Sentry wards see invis heroes coming. In DG a Rook can set up a tower and everyone can teleport in. It's almost more effective in DG....
Jdub also semi-apologized . But pretty much anyone who is not an obvious spambot or criminal will get at least one warning to shape up for an offense. The action-oriented nature of Demigod is likely to attract a lot of younger people, and we can't simply ban them all the instant they say something offensive that they thought would make them look tough or cool, with no warning.
You could temp-ban them for a few days. People usually get the message quickly a
Devs have already said they're fixing this, give it time.
I just owned in a 4v4 with Erebus. I even used nerfed Bite. 8-1 record. Proof: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/424010/player/34211/ Therefore Erebus is completely balanced.
What exactly does any of this have to do with Dota again?
Priest healing is % based? Extremely interesting. Do you know what the cooldown is on the priest's heal?
I had no idea that DotA folks found this to be an exploit, how strange.
They don't. Well, the good ones don't.
1. It takes up a disposable item slot.
That's one of the primary reasons it's so good. If anything I think it should take up a left item slot then it's perfectly fine.
And all artifacts are ~10k+, with Mageslayer at 8k The good ones are 17-18k
Towers die permanently. People don't. You can heal players rather easily. Not so with towers.
I played DOTA in its INFANCY, before TFT was even released. AR attributed nothing to dota's popularity. The fact that the game mode gained popularity is NOT the reason for DOTA's success. Correlation != Causation.
Me too, and I remember things quite differently.
I said I hate AR games because of the stupid nonsense it promotes from elitist retards who think they're gods gift to humanity because they random every game. It doesn't make people pro, but for s
None of those counters stop UB from spitting on towers, which I think is really the only thing that may deserve a nerf. It's completely fine against players.
GhostNote: How would you like to see that work? We're in the beginnings of implementing that so it's good to get some direction from the people who will use it the most.
Think Warcraft 3. You should be able to send an invite to people on your friends list (or just people whose accounts you know) They get a pop-up window or notification of some kind and accept it. Once everyone you invited accepts (you invited 2 people for 3v3 matching) it starts the
They need to post peoples average Sim Speed in the lobby, I find this to be much more game breaking than a high ping
Seriously. You get into the game and the Simspeeds are: 10 10 9 7 8 2 Chug chug chug chug Enraging.
You may not be thinking this completely through. A concede option allows you to farm wins. Having to win the full game may be easy when the opposition isn't fighting back but it still takes time. Additionally, it turns out people are really poor judges of when games are actually "lost." I can't tell you how many games of Dota I've won after MULTIPLE people on my team have left after it looked like we weren't doing well. From my experience it's tougher in Demigo
It's one of the main reasons, I'd say. Back in the day ar was extremely popular. Modes with some form of random make up a significant amount of the played games.
I've stated this earlier. I can't stand the stupid ill founded elitism it propagates.
Oh the hypocrisy. Just because YOU don't get why people love random doesn't mean it isn't enjoyed by a significant portion of players.
We're argueing about an all random game, and I was
Why? If you don't want to play an ar game, don't join one.
Ok, that adds to your gameplay value not mine. Why do I need to random in this scenario if I don't feel like it?
Who says you have to.
This assumes that interesting matchups couldn't happen if you just randomed. The other side does not affect how interesting it is if you're adding a rogue element.
People tend towards "the bandwagon" of heroes, or whoever is considered
So the shouts of cowards of randoming a certain way is already starting?
Hey you either random or you don't. The middle ground of rd was inexplicable to me.
What is the purpose of an all random game?
All the heroes are randomly chosen. That's....the purpose. What's the purpose of allowing people to pick their heroes? Anyways, maybe you just don't understand the purpose of going random. There's many benefits:
How do you work it now comparing the high and low potions for Erebus if you only get 1 rank in the skill? And there's an easy solution - it should drop a potion that *says* it restores 1500 life, but instead damages 750. Done.
