Agreed, such changes to the UI would make the game a lot easier to jump into for RTS players. However, I can hardly consider it a top priority.
pseudomelon
It will not be used widely in games, as it isn't a major part of the system. It's like building software around a headset, very situational.
Quoting idunno116, reply 5I am blown away by the awesomeness of that movie. It makes me wish I had played the KotoR games. Highly recommend playing them. They should be easy to find on Amazon and cheap as well.
If you've ever played D&D, I wouldn't recommend KOTOR. Sadly, it just feels archaic and railroaded, and it never feels like there are enough options for character development, or levelling for that matter.</
Totally off topic, but how much is AI war going to go for? As for the OP's post... Have you ever designed AI? I mean, seriously? Try that and see if it doesn't make you frustrated after a few hours, then come back and tell me that you can do better than what Demigod's done already. And as people have already said, first person shooter AI hardly counts, and in fact has to be toned down so that it doesn't destroy human opponents. Think, basic run script + aimbot = win.</p
Out of curiosity, what's the typical drop in startup simspeed from 2v2's to 5v5s? I assume there is one, provided it might be somewhat small...
I just failed a Fort save to avoid being stunned for 1d8 rounds by sheer awesome.
Plus the average infection time for their OSes is 15 minutes. Too bad MACs suck worse (not their OS but the lack of gaming + custimization, and if more people used MACs, more viruses would be developed for them). And don't try to convert me to Linux... Macs use MAC OS X which is Unix based... same as linux
That OS is not as smooth as Ubuntu.
Just think... Stack all three crit items and you have the extremely remote chance of a 12x crit.
I wouldn't suggest trying it. The remains of every 2000th enemy are amazingly difficult to clean up afterwords. [e digicons]:-"[/e]
Just a warning, Demigod is loads of fun, but it isn't your average RTS. If you like both RTS style games and RPG's (think, controlling only a hero from Warcraft III), then this, good sir, is your game. Otherwise, I'd advise you look elsewhere.
Macs are fail. If you're going to complain that Microsoft doesn't cut it for you, use Linux.
How strange. I don't even HAVE a sound card and my simspeed is always at least 6... but then, I play 2v2's. And I've got a GeForce 9600 so at least that side of the spectrum is well taken care of.
The funny part is when 2 people get HoL and proceed to harass eachother into infinity. This has happened to me on several games, it's actually pretty amusing to watch [e digicons][/e]
Perhaps we could return to the topic, and you two could take your argument elsewhere? [e digicons]>_>[/e] Creating a thread is spectacularly simple.
Pfft. The motion peripheral, as it was not created as a main component of the system, will never be used for anything but silly gimmick games. In other words, it's just like the Wii's. And no, just because they can build a successful gaming system does not mean Microsoft is awesome. Windows XP = awesome, 360 = not.
Logitech RX300, came with my keyboard, and my father has one that's lasted a few years now. Logitech = gods of the keyboards?
15% health flag?
Yes, there's no reason to make TB an even more pathetic character.
I reckon you have to be using the absolute minimum system reqs to hit negative simspeed.
I wonder if we could convince stardock to make them do the zergling noises.
i really think alot of players just don't get enough health. period.
Agreed.
Everyone else stops when they use an ability, I see no reason for UB to be different. As for removing the cooldown on it, I assure you that taking away the 1-second cooldown would do nothing but increase your frustration as you spammed the button.
Might I recommend Iolo System Mechanic? It's legit and it does just about every bit of spring cleaning you need. Or at least, that I need. But I don't do constant porn searches and frequently reformat my hard drive, so it all depends on the user I guess... Anywho, it gets the job done.
Err, this game isn't DotA. CoD is not Halo. Age of Empires is not Starcraft. And the Sims is not Spore. While they all have respective similarities and share genres with their partner, the games are as different as night and day.
Zakariel, that issue has already been brought up, and strongly opposed by the majority of the forum-going population for a number of reasons. Banlists are fine locally, but using a global banlist is stupid, and leaves you trusting the legitamacy of Joe-chows-on-paste's bans.
Err, 3k pots and TB fireball aren't channelled, per se. Channeled spells start their effects immediately, and end them when cancelled or the time expires, i.e., mist form or foul grasp. The 3k hp pot is 'casted', as is TB's fireball, because nothing happens until the character is finished 'charging up'. Either way, such effects can be utterly hosed by any ability involving a stun or even a ministun, eg boulder roll, pentinence, frost nova, mass charm, etc.
