I was wondering what u guys thought were cool aliens. The main part is how u play the game. I likd the alien from aliens, John Carpenter's the thing, the Undine from startrek, a dinosaur race, shapeshifters in general, The zenomorph. I want to see a race of cyborgs but instead of humans use aliens instead, Et, the Vesari from sins of a solar empire, and those star trek entities would be nice.

Ok no more abbreviations. Since we r to primitive for a interstellar space right now our current science can't work without some help. Do where do I get the basis for this. I do know that 30 Au's is the distance to Neptune. 930 million miles is still a long distance. That is what u suggested. If I can't thwart a player trying to throw me out of his space on multi player playing against real people then I don't want to be able to throw people out of their space. I thoug
Can I see the time machine, and also can I have a copy of the game so we can make even more improvements before the game comes out. Planets r doable. U could start different species on a chance of starting on a specialized planet. They would start out with that specialized tech, and the advanced version requiring them to research terran world colinization. Rewarding species for playing how they r supposed to. The Korath got a influence penalty for slavery. I'm not
I got a descent idea U xouls make a planetary que, or a planetary and ship building que for when u colonise a planet. For a planetary and ship building que this would mean after u build starport then u start building ships. There could be multiple ques. One could be set for all the pq that wouldn't include certain pq's. U could also turn off the building que for the planets u pick, or a certain range of planets. U could pick a que for a certain kind or all the extreme planets. <p
I think what he means on habital planets is that all the races can settle Terran worlds. Where he wants some who could only settle radioactive worlds... This would require the map to have an equal number of each type of planet. I would only want this as an option to the game. Not the game. If this was an optional game I think this would be a good idea. I would like to hear other options on what the species ability could b other than what is offered though.
I would like to add that even though it is turn based each player can take their turn at the same time. I would like to see where the players can use the same species. U would have to pick different names. I would like to see a map BEing able to compute the number of planets and stuff based on how many players the game has. Where we can have a lot of players on multiplayer. This could then be way more than whats allowed on the normal game. Is this game going to allow modded st
I still want the closed borders agreement to be where u have to click on the ship, and tell it to get out of my space, so this would apply for any ship u choose. The only thing I would want different is if the ship is from a species from one of your allies is that it wouldn't let me do this so there would be no mistake. I would still have u to manually catch me with your ships so I could have a chance to outrun u or fight u. I would like to have an option to capture u instead for ransome
What does class 7 or lower planets have to do with this?
It was an idea that Jecy came up with to use the low class planets as if they were class 0 planets. What I was saying is that this may not be the best idea after u take into account farms, or after u terraform the planet. That's where that idea came from.
I would agree to that. 3 kinds of bonus tiles 1x, 3x, and the one u almost never see the 7x.
I'm rewriting the post. I've been thinking, and I came up with some ideas for idealogies. An idealogy is supposed to be a way of thinking. Not to many people go out of their way to be evil. Some ways of thinking I've came up with are. 1. Only the strong will survive. The strongest one deserve all the privaliges. 2. It's all about me. It' doesn't matter what you do as long as it helps you succeed. 3. A classless society. There's no class warf
For the most part the concepts of the game works. Another thing that gives the game an advantage it that it is turn based. As long as the rest of the world is going to real time strategy galactic civilizations has a game of its own on that level. Its either that galactic civilizations is better at customization than everyone else, or no one bothers to customize the way they do. If there is as good customization it is not on this kind of game. Customizing races. Options that lets u decide what
I wouldn't mind being able to automate what I don't want to deal with. Isn't there a way to mod the game, and change the user interface. If they don't do this I think this mod wouldn't be a bad idea. I like to be able to control as much of the automation as possible. What I'm talking about is that I like to set the variables on the automation. I might want to only manually run certain aspects of the game, and let the game do the rest. What I want to control may change,
I would even go as far as saying, anything under Class 7 could become a mining planet. Randomize resources that can be mined.. (not every planet should be able to be mined, But i am saying a chance to be could be a really good thing. I just think it could really add some nice depth. I'm not against resources being Finite, But i would think rates of mining, and number of mines you could support woul
I want to point out that war crimes may only apply to humans. How much of human influence is in the galactic council, or what exactly how much control the galactic council have over the other species is up to stardock to decide. R the small races on the galactic council cause if they r not then the laws wouldn't apply to them. I will admit for most of the species there r ethical issues to take into account. In the real world mines r meant for defense purpose. In
I think the Jagged knife is a way to make the game more challenging. As is the other Ai's seem to leave the Jagged knife alone. Usually giving u more super projects than what u can make. The Jagged couldn't run their economics thus not making them a viable threat. They had almost all the techs making it a nice place to trade for techs. Yeah this kind of forces u to research planetary invasion. All this does is delays. doesn't really stop u. This also usually gives u more stuff tha
1 think we need to consider is that this site is about the player's right to throw other civilizations out of their space. All these other ideas r to help u do this. My answer to civilizations patrolling their borders perfectally, and not being the jurisdiction of the leader. Reminds me that Obama controls illegal emigration and the military. Let us not forget about homeland security. Remember 911. Border security failure. Pearl harbor border security failure. Over 1 million people
First I think most of the details would probably be things u read in a tech tree description. I would ask how many class zero planets versus habital I guess u don't play on abundant habitible planets. The settings really don't matter. Maybe this could be an option to turn on or off at the beginning of the game. Do u micromanage asteroids. We could have a ship that goes around the galaxy mining class 0 planets just like the asteroid miner. This could even be a function of the asteroid
I was wondering what kind of species of Aliens would u like to see in a game. Be as specific as possible. We should try to come up with as unorthodox as possible. This may just be for me or the game, so if u don't understand why I posted this it is because I was just curious.
I was thinking of the half aliens half human thing. and thinking the blood could be made out of hydrocloric or sulferic acid could this be a problem mating between species like they do in startrek.
Another mega event idea based on the stay out of my space post idea on closing borders. If u only did this occasionally it probably doesn't matter, but if u were the Yor or did this all the time then this might trigger a mega event where u r becoming isolated like Imperial Japan. I don't know the details, but msybe u could help me out, or maybe stardock could even out the details.
I'm guessing when u r talking about contaminated water u r reffering to my idea about supplying water to barren worlds. I would exoect that u would have to distill the water to condense it for this to work anyways with a filtering system. Maybe that u will need to do this with more research. maybe u could put this on the Yor tech tree. Since the Yor don't need water this would be a trade good to other races for planets that r not terran, or maybe the Iconian r super adapters.
Well one of the things we got to take into account of sensors is range; I'm not talking about regular sensors but the kind for scanning borders. R we going to add lasers to these kind of sensors. How r we going to do this. We should have stats on this. I think this should be on par with regular sensors. If it is not then this should be a really expensive tech to research. Since u research sensors u should probably research this, or u could add this to sensors and
Well since people r starting to post here. Here r my ideas for Galactic civilization 3. I think the races need to be more fair. I don't like to play races and feel that I'm handicapped because of the race I play. The only one that is different is the Thalans because they r from the future. I like different races with different techs that do different things. I would like to see a different all around fairness in the different races. I'm not against requiring different play
For a game like GalCiv, instead of just having a hero appear on some random turn, they should be created through events in game, not dissimilar to how CivV handles Great Persons. Then allow those heroes to gain experience and expand their abilities, and their sphere of influence. A governor may start with a bonus to the planet he is on, then grant a bonus to the system he is in, then to the sector, while an admiral's bon
I was thinking about what my civilization was like. I would say it was a sleeping giant, or pre world war 1 united states. Demilitarised with a really good economy and industry. If I play the Krynn or Torians I have superior influence, My military techs r usually behind everyone to almost non existant until they start threatening me. I I used to play a small self sufficient empire that was last in economics or industry. I was just thinking about that. I was wondering about how u would com
