Rank is based on experience and experience gain (or loss) is based off of the rank of your own team and the opponent's. You can win dozens of games against poorly ranked players and have it all undone by a few bad defeats. Tournament rankings refer to the pantheon mini-seasons. Ladder rankings are your overall standing.
I never said it was "simple" merely "easier" or "more logical" [e digicons]:)[/e]
It's not more logical though, it's rooted in faith. All throughout history we've attributed things beyond the current reach of science to divine intentions, but not settling for that level of understanding has driven humanity forwards. I'm more than willing to admit that there may be a god. In fact I find the idea of ceasing to exist when you die incomprehensible and frightening, so I act
I would think Fire TB would be one of the absolute last characters you'd want stats on. He can't even autoattack correctly so you're only getting the mana regen which is unnecessary with Inspirational Flame and the health/armor which are kind of paltry compared to TB's stats at that point. I'm always torn between deep freeze, blizzard, and frost nova at that point. I usually go blizzard unless I'm against Sedna.
@ Obscenitor - God is infinite, no begining, no end. Therefore He need not come from anywhere. Our minds are not even close to being able to comprehend the idea of "infinite" So there's no use trying to explain it. Where did God come from? God is not the simplest solution, because a god capable of making not only our own complex world but the universe which is so large we can't really even comprehend it infinitely more complicated. There's a lot of answers we're just never going to get from science, but adherence to the scientific method is critical when trying to understand our world and the universe.
This is a common, but outdated and incorrect claim. It was based on a bad calculation in 1960 by H. Patterson in a Scientific American article which was debunked first in 1984. Patterson made an incorrect assumption about nickel content in meteors (assuming that all nickel in airborne terrestrial dust was meteoric, when it was actually largely terrestrial), and creationists apply this number to the Moon, where, in fact, the meteoric dust influx

I use the heart of life sporadically with rook. 30 HP a second is pretty amazing, and it's a 4500 heal and 9,000+ mana restore if you can get the full duration off. The problem with HoL is kind of a common one amongst items with cooldowns, they're generally very poor on maps like Leviathan and quite strong on maps with celerity flags if you also pick up the staff of renewal. With a 39 second cooldown it's really pretty good, at 60 seconds, not so much. I really don't use it wi
Unless you're buying Slayer's Wraps for the +10 HP (which admittedly is pretty nice) you should consider Nature's Reckoning. Mid game it's one of the absolute best damage items, it definitley beats Slayer's Wraps.
So in essence what you're saying is that you buy your starting items on a map like Leviathan which has both HPS and MPS or on Exile which has regen crystals in the field, and then you return to base to pick up a Plate Visor before you reach 1500g, then return a second time? Honestly I think you're playing those high regen maps wrong if you're heading back to base that early with over 20 MPS and the enhanced combat healing. You can easily get 1500g before level 5 without any kills
Unnecessary. Plate Visor is fine on maps that have a MPS flag.
Prove it. I already gave a reasoned explanation of why it's not. The plate visor is a poor item because its only niche is that it gives greater regen than the scaled helm on maps with +15 mps. However you've gotta realize no one is going to use only the plate visor, and on a map with +15 mps it only makes sense to get plenor as your second helm. The problem is that plenor modifies the mana regen on the scaled helm and doesn't work well with the plate visor. Say we're using Sedna and we have control of a mana flag at level 7 and we've already bought

We should play sometime, I honestly can't picture a truly dangerous hammer rook.
As for holding creep lanes against giants, towers simple get outscaled by upgraded reinforcements. You only real hope of defending against double creep waves at the front on cataract is letting the enemy take your valor flag and then pushing them off over and over and over again until the flag bug kicks in and they lose their own valor flag so you're fighting 1800 HP giants which do piddly damage instead of 2200HP ball busting ones.
No evidence? HoN has already been preordered by 35,000 people, and it's still in closed beta, several months away from release. How many preorders did Demigod have at that point?
Again, how does this correlate to the size of the DG roster? HoN gave beta invites to anyone who would take them (I've gotten 9 so far!) and begged those people to give them to friends. I tried to follow DG's development and I missed the beta completely. Also HoN has a fantastic matching system
What point are you trying to make here? That a plurality of gamers prefer a larger number of simpler characters, and that's a bad thing?
That's specious reasoning. Total quantity of hero characters is hardly the only difference between DG and the other MOBA games, we've already talked extensively about rankings, game pacing, matchmaking, connectivity, etc. If LoL/HoN outsell DG dramatically there's no way to prove it was specifically the lack of a massive DG roster that ma
Also bear in mind part of the reason why LoL and HoN's rosters are so large is because I could doodle a character concept of equal quality in about 10 minutes. When you have a graphical presentation like DG it makes much more sense to have one character with multiple builds rather than two or three characters with singular builds. I don't see how the gameplay is casual friendly. Forced latency makes the game less twitch based, but in its place you have increased strain
Proxies work fine. You can see people's pings in the lobby beforehand and what you see in the lobby is what you get in the game. Back when proxies were broken you could still have a good game with them so long as you paid attention to your ping before the game started. If the ping was low with everyone it was fine, if it was under 200 to everyone but one and it was 1500 to that guy, the game was going to be terrible. That issue highlights someth
