True, however as you pointed out the numbers would be need to be generous, where as right now they don't have to be. It's difficult to work through some Demigod's healing minions, Sedna can be a right royal pain combined with her Heal ability, however if it wasn't the benefit the minions conveyed would be minimal at best and this would decrease the viability of a minion build. Don't fix what's not broken.
That's not really true. Sedna picking

Well just because they don't scale off of health doesn't mean they can't scale. They could be based on X number of HP per level, for example. Also not basing them off of HP doesn't mean they have to be underpowered or not worth the investment, there's no reason why the numbers couldn't be quite generous. My main issue though would be that this would empower generals over assassins when it seems like generals already hold their own well enough.

Well looking at your game history you pick a different DG almost every game. I think you're just going through a learning process and you'll get the hang of it before long. One thing you need to remember is that records are reset periodically so people who have been playing for a while are going to have a much cleaner record. Just stick it out for now, keep doing what you're doing and you'll be good to go by the time the next ladder reset comes around. I'm pretty Frogboy had said they
i didnt think tower build was any good vs minion builds because the towers never focus the right target, so i always go slam.
It's certainly not easy, but a lot of the build's problems stemmed from the horn of battle. New minions were constantly being created and those new minions were invulnerable damage sponges for 10 seconds, so it was just impossible to make reliable progress on the swarms, but now it's easier to break even, though you certainly won't be trouncing the other
You have to strive for a sense of what seems overpowered and what is fine. And Demigiod is pretty damn fine. You don't see "PREMADE" people complaining about balance. Its because they lose to reasons other than the non existant "super IMBAs".
I've played plenty of premade games and there's a number of tweaks I'd be glad to see.

Without the Horn of Battle rook can hold off EB fine if you protect your static towers well enough. Generally I find that if I have the tower's AoE splah to retreat to my own towers will be enough to fend EB off early in the game. Bear in mind boulder+slam I is 700 damage, which isn't half bad. If you drop that on a group of night walkers at 70% or so HP it'll kill them unless the guy's going with a pure minion build and skipping bite. Basically I just try to stalemate until level 9 w
I guess speed and action are the same thing to you. I give up.
I didn't play DOTA much, but poly's absolutely right. With DG the focus is almost exclusively on DG vs. DG and you have large enough HP pools to trade blows constnatly throughout the entire match. DoTA, if I recall correctly, was more about hiding and creep farming for the majority of the game. So I guess it depends on your definition of action.
The big overarching point is this: People who don't play with organized, coordinated teams are going to have a skewed view on "balance" because everything they encounter something that wipes the floor with them they don't think they can counter because they are working alone. This game was meant to be team on team. Not PUG on PUG. So when you have PUGs swarming the forums with something they think is imbalanced its going to be somethi
I've only played like 1/2 dozen games in the demo and a dozen in full version (as Rook), but I don't think hammer slam is worth it. You do plenty good auto attack damage (especially with God Strength), and towers are much more of a pain for opponents than the Hammer.
A good tower build will swap to hammer slam as the primary source of damage by level 12 or so. By level 9 you should have rank II hammer slam along with rank III towers and
You say in 3v3s certain things will shut down a team. This is why 5v5s are more balanced.
No, I mean like in a game yesterday where a TB kept casting Fireball predictably and I was able to interrupt him four or five critical times. Because his team was depending on those fireballs to get their kills it shut them down and we won by a considerable margin. That doesn't my DG choice decided the game before we left the lobby. The fact is that guy did a poor job of telegraphing his fi
3v3s are simply not as well balanced as 5v5s. In 3v3s you will run into combinations that are outright more powerful than others. In 5v5s its all about the teamwork and overall strategy rather than being able to straight overpower your opponent. They're more difficult games, but they are far more fair than a 3v3. 5v5s are the epitome of teamwork in this game. The team with better teamwork and strategy will win. Which is how it should

Basically you've gotta host a game. There's lots of people just waiting to join other people's games at peak hours. Most new players won't host games so your choices are much poorer than they need to be.
You make a great point actually. Demigod is MOST balanced in a 5v5 setting. The ONLY reason people make balancing cries is because they don't play 5v5s. If you start balancing to make up for 2v2s 3v3s and 4v4s then balance is going to go to hell. The only tweaking any demigod needs right now is maybe Queen of Thorns. The game is well balanced in a 5v5 setting, which is where it matters. The smaller the games get the more "IMBAs OMGZ" people are

Is this post against randomness or against drops? Level 20 DGs drop rejuvenation potions 100% of the time, that give back both health and mana. If DGs always dropped rejuv potions which scaled up with DG level would that still bother you?
Not that I agree with the suggested reduction in cost but I am curious... do people actually buy any of the top-end citadel upgrades (beyond the added creeps themselves) in high-level play? Is the current proposed tradeoff one that people are actually making? At a glance, the costs of the upgrades listed in the OP do seem a little prohibitive in my experience considering what you actually get. Genuine question. I h
Well, mainly, 2v2 matches, and 1v1 matches wont be balanced. On any small map (crucible, cataract, prison). Those matches you can't play TB or Regulus... and probably not Rook, and prolly not QoT.
Rook does absolutely fine in 2v2s on cataract btw. He does fine on crucible as long as he has a general who buys monks.
On 3v3 matches there are some picks that r inferior (not useless): Regulus, TB.
If it's not on prison I disagree strongly, regulus is a huge asset.
If I were GPG I would log (at the end of each game) all ingame decisions like which item gets bought how often, which Demigods and which skills are chosen. All items in the same price class that are bought very rarely by the gamers are apparently not worth buying and should be buffed/changed. Same goes for skills. If that is too complex, I'd just look at the already available win/loss ratio of each Demigod and balance accordingly. The win/loss ratios are alrea
