It's not as a dramatic a reason as "preventing piracy" but I still say the reason you're going to be forced to use Battle.net for any multiplayer is due primarily to the in-game advertising deal. That's where the money is at, not piracy prevention (hahahaha).
It's probably both. Honestly though I'm not sure it's a bad thing. There's been a number of ad-sponsored games in Asia and Blizz had initially considered launching WoW as one of them but decided a
HP items are freakin imba in combination with UB. I swear nobody has a chance vs an UB player on lvl 20 with 450 dps (orless, in combination with ooze). In addition to this, ubs "Aclclimation" (all about 500 dealt dmg to ub reduces dmg for 5 secounds bout 40%) Makes it rly impossible to kill him with burst attacks TB is depending on. I played Rook with aggresive gear. I bought gloves and boots, skilled on hammer slam and stats. I got farmed like he

What is it about being physically present that prevents you from joining your friends' games?

When I was in the Air Force I was stuck living in a dorm type setting with no broadband. My friend would bring over his computer so we could play Warcraft 3 together... online and we had zero bandwidth or ping issues. We even ran THREE people off a single 56k connection and it worked fine. I think people are dramatically overestimating the type of connection needed for an RTS. I love DG and all, and no offense to SD or GPG, but b.net blows any multiplayer funct

Again, damage items don't scale at the same rate as HP items because HP items have to outscale multiple opponents, whether it's an ambush from multiple demigods or just a single demigod who's got increasing reinforcement support. As things like giants and catapults hit the field or even priests in some cases total damage taken is increasing greater than just the items of the attacking demigods.

It tends to happen for me in crowded places in general, so you're on to something with proximity to something having effect, but in my experience it's random and is more frequently related to edges of the creep corridors and movement. Generally if the Rook walks a bit before placing a tower it will not fail, but if you take little half steps it'll fail several times in a row.
Remember, you can't quite compare this to automatching in other games. Nearly all games focus on 1v1 for their automatching. So even if the automatch pool is small, it's much easier to create good matches for 1v1 than 2v2 or 3v3.
You can compare it to warcraft 3 and wow, which both have very effective matching queues and almost always pair you with someone your rank... unless you play at odd hours and there's not enough players in queue, which is more similar t

Hiya, I just wanted to say I've been having this problem as well. I'm in Kansas City (well, 10 miles west anyway) and I'm using timewarner. Ping's very solid with NAT and direct connections, but the proxies are causing issues for me. Also I'm not sure that it's necessarily the wrong proxy that's being picked because 700 seems too high for just that. I hopped in a euro game just a moment ago and I was under 220 with all the non-proxied players.

On any map but prison I can handle a sedna 1v1 as rook. Bear in mind the only 1v1 experience I have is defending a lane from her, not any true 1v1 experience, but typically there's just no real way for her to pressure me.
A good example is her vs a tower rook, she will be at a disadvantage if she attacks every tower but can instead go straight for the rook and force him to retreat leaving the towers to crumble over time.
I agree this is the best strat, but when I play rook
Why dont i post good player / pro then? I dont like to put up huge neon signs that im a pro either
This is exactly why I say "zero effort." It's such a trivial endeavor to just tag your game with "good," "decent," or "no newbs." If pros flock to your game because you put up a tag that says "no noobs," then you probably would have gotten them anyway. I consider myself to be a pretty good player but I'm sick of getting stuck in hopeless games because of people
It lets the player being stunned actually play the game.
Precisely, and it also means that teammates have longer arrive to help. It shifts the battle from a simple ambush to a real fight (sometimes).

Fact is almost every game I join has a host who's played with the majority of the players on his teams (read 2/2, 2/3, or 3/4) for the past half dozen games or more (usually more) and they all complain about not being ablie to get games when I call them out on it. Premades put forth zero effort to balance teams or attract competition, that's just the way it is.

If you know you're a pretty good team, just put good players only in the title. Really you guys who complain about premades not being able to get games going without being deceptive are going to have problems sooner or later when stats are eventually visible. People aren't really going to care if you know your buddies, they're going to demand balanced teams.
If the fix was as easy as you said, then sure, why not make the fix. But was it really that necessary? No. You're telling me you wouldn't have rather waited a little bit longer and have the devs work on fixing the more serious issues? Let's be real.
What? What are you even talking about here? The point is that of all the possible changes out there, changing the bounties on priests and angels was almost definitely one of the simplest possible. <

Since I assume you do not suggest all those tactics also be prohibited, I show that being "mindless" is insufficient criteria for prohibition.
It still would have been arbitrary, just as stun immunity is arbitrary.
Define arbitrary, because I think you're just using it as a dysphemism here. Every game mechanic is arbitrary by nature, within the limits of a game the only way something can be arbitrary is if it's inconsistent, and all AoE stuns being followed by stun immunity is not inconsistent, love it or hate it. The entirety of your argument is summed up by "I don't like AoE stuns" a
I get the feeling you are about to object that "every combination of DGs in this game should be equally viable!!!" That is silly. In Guild Wars, that would be like objecting that you can't make a team of 8 warriors that is just as effective as a team of 8 that has at least 2 monks. Too bad, take the monks or deal with the disadvantages that comes from not using them. In this case, if you refuse to take DGs that can play defense, you take the chance that you might, you know, miss that d
