Besides, she didn't get sued simply for downloading the songs, she was also uploading them for others to download.
The articles I read didn't mention the specifics of it. It's quite possible that she only ever shared fragments of less than those 24 songs, in which case a settlement based on the sharing and not the stealing should net even less in my mind. Now if she left her computer on all day for several months maybe those songs were transferred hundreds of times..
Or, those same lawmakers realize the industries affected by piracy constitute a significant fraction of the US GDP and would cause massive economic destabilization if they collapsed due to the government not enforcing its own laws.
What are you talking about? I didn't complain about the first ruling of $9,000 per song, I'm complaining about $80,000 per song.
The publishers represented by the RIAA are not indiviually huge, but overall at least as large as the aut
It is also what i think, but two new demigods seems like a wiser idea if the decs don't want to see endless whinning about the fact that one side has 5 demigods and the other 4.
Well what they could do is nerf the damage and health of all of demigods on the side with five by 20% to counterbalance the disproportion. :) Really though it's a good question, and one I think Frogboy asked directly - would players be more upset about waiting longer to get any new DGs at all or
Sounds like a hilarious game. That being said, why not just grab one point of AF so you can AoE the crap out of those giants? It sounds like it was a long game and if you had a good amount of gear on everyone it seems like it'd be a nightmare trying to get units near your base.
I do think it would be incredibly wise to get those 2 new demigods out ASAP though... the smell of death and all that...
I think even a single new DG would do wonders for the game. The people who'd gotten frustrated with early connectivity problems might load the game up again to check it out and find out connectivity is dramatically improved while they're at it.
Lol, that would be a joke to me too, because I laughed.
Well, it was the response I first thought of when I saw the joke start up and I was going to join in and post it... and then I saw this:
To balance the game the next DG needs to be an unmarried mother of ethnic origins, from a disadvantaged background. Her powers would be: Nappy Rash, Social Security Drain, Puke Spit and Fag Smoke.
It's just vitriolic racism.
The real problem, in my mind at least, is that the laws on the books allow such excessive damages to be claimed because the lawmakers are in the pockets of the RIAA and other publishing industries. The entire market has changed and these producers are clinging harder and harder to the deck rails as though that's going to save the ship.
Good fucking god, pull your head out of your ass. Punative damages are an accepted part of civil law and have been for decades. You are co
Hmmm, she got caught stealing. So what's the point again?
Are you a fucking idiot? Seriously, if you have kids and one of them gets caught stealing a $1.50 candy bar should you have to pay 120,000 dollars? At least it sounds like the RIAA may have the decency to not try to collect on such an outrageous claim. They'll probably just let the court decision itself stand as a waring and seek a (relatively) miniscule sum if any at all. Still though, t
The joke was a thinly veiled knock on the idea that public health care changes would be a good thing. I mean the presentation may have been facetious but the comments themselves were obviously quit earnest. Say I had responded that the GW Bush DG would spawn two new enemy DGs each time it defeated one, would that seem like just a joke to you or an expression of my actual opinion?
Not all skills are designed to be interuptible.
This is a pretty good conclusion and I definitely came to it as well. I would say that the purpose of a fair amount of cast times is to disrupt movement... Gameplay would be effectively unchanged if casting a heal, for example, were instant but stunned you for .5 seconds, same idea with stunning other characters for the duration of their extremely short casts and making them instant. Not that I support doing that,
Um, I thought this thread was about 2 new female Demigods?
It was until a few people stepped in with non sequitur political talk, and it went from there. Back on topic, if there's going to be a ninja type assassin, I'd love to see it be a japanese demon of some time rather than a traditional ninja. <img src="http://www.arcanology.com/images/demon-oni.jpg
Is it really worth specing into? You would have to skip out on the "Reformed Health Care" Debuff Aura, opposing Demigods are allowed to take health/mana potions for free, but there is only 1 rank, it heals for 1000 HP and has a 10 second cast time.
http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html We're totally stomping those nations with socialized health care! Honestly, why do you f
Are all you guys seriously complaining about all the opportunities you missed by not being born poor or by not becoming welfare mothers? Pathetic.
And give your team free "bailout" currency upgrades.
Wouldn't they both do that, or has that already gone down the memory hole?
If you pounce at first possible chance, you're going to die against an Erebus, as he bites to regain health, and then mass charms you. The bite you're lucky to interrupt, but the charm is exactly what pounce is for.
Again though, Erebus's Mass Charm is one of the few spells out there that actually has a readily identifiable animation, I would say that's an exception.
I don't really like the animation on mines, regulus moving into range to cast them is the real giveaway for me. That being said, I do feel that mines are one of the better designed spells as far as interrupts go, playing smart against a mine regulus goes a long way, I just didn't have them on my short list because while they're the only ability that makes reg do a hand gesture, I still don't think the animation is quite up there with the others I listed.
I alluded to them already, but lemme point out some spells I think are great examples of what I'd like to see more of Hammer Slam - Devestating, but highly telegraphed with a bulky cast time and obvious animation. This is absolutely one of the best designed skills in the game, it's fun to use, it's fun to watch, and it's fun to counter. Mass Charm - Very powerful move, again an obvious animation, and again hilarious when you counter it
Alright, I'm a former wow player, so bear with me here. In WoW interrupting casts was one of most important aspects of PvP, it's no exaggeration that interrupting a heal or a spell which would take you or your partner out of the fight for the next 10 seconds was the most important thing you could do in most cases. So it should be no surprise that as I try to get better in this game I try harder and harder to improve my ability to interrupt casts, and I've come to the conclusion
Rook is my favorite DG because the way I play him completely changes as the game goes on (towers early slam+boulder late). Same goes for a pure ice TB to a lesser extent.
I agree with most of the spit complaints here, but not with the offered solution, which is to nerf spit. Personally I love leviathan's regen flag, I feel it balances Spit out quite nicely and tower regen in general needs a real improvement. Also it'd be interesting to have a regen potion that either cost less than a healing potion and healed or the same amount over 10-15 seconds or cost the same amount and healed for 50% or so more over that time.
It actually is possible, but it's based on the speed you're able to achieve it. You have to make sure all debuffs are still tacked on by the time you shatter
What are all the debuffs? I only count three. The only possibility, and this is a stretch, is that you can consume your own shatter debuff in extreme circumstances, but I doubt it. It's a 15 second cooldown abilty with a 7 second duration, so you'd need a good 110%'ish cooldown reduction, which would be
It still doesn't change my original point - nothing mitigates ability damage because there are no "physical" abilities. As such health is the only way to go. Armor is always secondary, regardless of how useful it is in theory, because it won't save your ass in the innumerable real game situations where you're being nuked.
I honestly don't believe most of my deaths come from nukes unless I'm already low on health. I've certainly been whittled down by nukes when
Plenty of burst damage comes in the form of autoattacks. The other day I was in a game against Oak, Erebus, and someone else, I don't recall who. I would constantly get jumped by oak and erebus though, and they would open with penitence and bite. Their opening ability ability volley was only 1200 or so damage, but the following autoattacks which were doing 110% damage or more would be about 300 damage each (it was early in the game), so about 600 damage per second, mea
