Looking for an alternate!!! Our third Teammate, Lord_Orion has been incommunicado for nearly a week now, and Chiefy and I are thinking we're about to get DQed from the tourney if we don't get some games in ASAP. If you are a registered alternate, PLEASE PM me! I am not going to start PMing people because I want someone who is actively on the forums and ready and willing to communicate. <span style="font-

Yeah, there are a lot of children who play this game. When you are getting abused by someone for only being a mid-level player, remind yourself: This person has played this game to the point where they are tolerably good but have completely lost sight of the fact that it is A GAME because they are one or all of the following; unemployed, literally a child, single, on the husky side, or have some serious emotional deficiencies stemming from an insufficent amount of care and attention as a chil
pacov: Posting here in the hopes that Lord_Orion might see it. Haven't heard from Orion all week. Sure he's just been busy, but on the off chance he stays AWOL, what are the chances of us being able to sign on another teammate? If any of the unassigned players out there who would still like to be on a team want to play with us, we are currently looking for an alternate and/or a primary teammate if Orion isn't around.
lol it's all good iirc I played sucky that game anyway tho and blew it for my team, so it fit for that game!
It happens. Chiefy was still in shock this morning and texted me about 4 times with what went wrong. You guys had a good early start, but it was just a weird game with weird Dg combos. You and McShane could have bullied me out of the health lane so many times, but our Tb was being such a nuisance on the other side of the map that I think it kept everyone busy. I

Boy am I totally off.
Among my crew of gaming friends we've got a graphic designer, a surveyor, a stock broker, a sales accounts manager, a grocery store manager, a teacher and a chef. And these are some real nerds, highly ranked Magic: The Gathering players and the like.
Pacov: Tried to join one of your lobbies with Uberfix 1.03 from the link above enabled and it said I couldn't. ???
I was that one guy who jumped on as you were in the lobby. If no one else got on, at least it works. For whatever reason had to open link in a new tab, but that might have just been me.
Got me there. I am admittedly a noob at those games. But my initial impression was exactly that, until you have played extensively, you end up playing the same thing every time. Demigod, though with some significant faults, has more variety in character play-style right from the get-go. But that's just my humble opinion. I really can't speak much about those games, so I'll stop trying to.
We should probably add a rule about alternate accounts just to have something in the rules. Kind of obnoxious if some of the alternates are just guys from another team. Ok - so I really doubt there will be much opposition to having alternates (especially based on baddaddy's points listed above - should help people with scheduling conflicts to keep the tourney moving right along). So the rules for alternates will be as follows: * Each team is allowed
How about a solution to two problems? One the scheduling of games, and people worrying that they might not get all their games in on time, and two, the twenty or so people who still haven't found a team. What if we allowed each team an alternate? It would keep us from having to dump all those willing players (bad for the community) and it might save a few teams with scheduling issues or RL issues for getting DQed (bad for the community). I know for one, that always getting 6 g
Yes, the coaching system is a great idea. We all know how badly some in our community could use a little civility, even if it takes self-interest to wring this out of them. If this is another game where you get three-four skills to level up, and they are all maxed by late game, so that the only difference between "builds" is when you max a certain skill, then yes, it will be inferior to Demigod. While DotA and LoL can boast dozens of characters, they are really just the same character
Even if all we did was get GPG to bundle uberfix and have it installed as a default, that would be a decent win.
Maybe someone can explain to those of us who only turn on a computer for gaming why this is such a hard thing to get done. The code is written. Would it really take more than paying a programmer a few hours to get it worked into a releaseable patch?
Yeah. Congrats on your new status pacov. You've certainly earned it. Yeah, I couldn't play LOL for the lack of camera control and just the general amateurish feel compared to Demigod. I have faith in Valve, they rarely put out a crappy product. Maybe this will grow interest in the genre and help persuade GPG/SD to release a Demigod sequel as well. Win-win for us.
Apparently they are announcing it today. Some of you with more inside info may have heard of it, but it was news to me. The PCGamer link: http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/10/13/valve-to-announce-new-game-later-today/ Will update with actual details when they come out. Update- <span style="font-size: x-small;
Is this info going to get worked into the tourney replay commentary? [e digicons][/e] My name is Rob and I'm 32, married with a two and a half year old daughter. We live in Maine, and like Jon, my wife goes to bed early, which is pretty much my gaming time (though she understands that the rules will be different for the tournament). I teach 8th grade English (though will move to High School eventually). I am mostly a FPS player, and our teams tourney practice has run into a hit
Here's how I've rephrased the rule about oaks: * Players using oak may not use spirits to perform a citadel rush. Any player doing this will have their entire team disqualified for that game giving a win to the opposing team. If you don't know what this terminology means, odds are you aren't citadel rushing with spirits. Sound good?
Yes. Wait, What?! So as Hybrid Oak who doesn't get Spirits till 11, I have to micro all my spirits, and just my spirits, off the citadel, if I have to retreat for health/mana or shop? Really? I think we all know what a spirit-citadel rush is, and know when someone is being a dink, and when someone is just playing a character the way he is meant to be played. Can we be realistic about this please? If someone is being a dink, submit the replay. Just don't be an equal dink everytime a
I'm with Zenny, I vote ban. I think maybe you expert players might be forgetting about the tier 2 teams out there that are in this to have fun playing against other teams who are on the same level. Minion Oak Citadel Rapeage is much easier to do than it is to counter. It is not fun to play against. It is not even fun to play with a cheesy Oak doing it on your team, win or lose. <b

Watched it last night. Interesting enough that I turned the Pats-Dolphins game down, which tells you something. Also made me think that you could do what the NFL does (kinda). Start the game at normal speed and then when someone makes an interesting play, First Blood, first tower down, gank, teammate save or something, you can slow down and take a look at where they are with build/ kit at that point. If a Rook goes towers/shoulders/roll and stands in his farm all game, no one who is a big eno
I think participation raffle is a great incentive to keep the tourney going. I hope even teams that expect to win part of the pot will see that, and hopefully more players means more money for the pot. That said, I need to put my money where my mouth is and pony up for the pot. You can put me down as a paying participant. I don't really care how the pot is split.
Unfortunately the fairest thing to do is when a team drops out, which is inevitable, then anyone who has played them and won has the points removed from their overall score. hmm... perhaps the math part of my brain isn't working yet today, but couldn't a vindictive team just decide to withdraw in order to potentially drop a team out of a top slot if we go with your "points removed" scheme? Hoping my math makes no sense...
BDaddy: Its not going to be fair no matter how we handle the issue. But... it will be less unfair if we just void any matches with teams that drop out. Much simpler as well. You see, there will be quite a few teams that are going to be like paper rock and scissors IMO. To say that since Team A beat Team B, and Team B beat Team C, then Team A would have beat Team C
