Which section of the page is that button supposed to be located in? When I go to the forum page, there's the big GalCiv3 graphic at the top. Then under that, "Welcome Veristek" (my name) and "sign out | options" and stuff like "Account | Subscriptions | My Posts | Private Messages" etc. Under that I see 3 links, "Home", "GalCiv 3", and "GalCiv3 Support". Under that is the Pinned Posts section, and under that is Recently Active Posts. I'm not seeing "Create Post" anywhere

Hey guys, Apologies for hijacking this thread, but I haven't been to these forums in many years. I just got GalCiv3 and Crusade and the latest patch (2.3) and cannot even get the game to start. I came back to these forums, but cannot seem to find where to create "new thread" to describe my problem in detail. Was "create new topic" disabled or the button / how-to moved elsewhere? Please let me know so I can create the thread and not have to hijack threads.

Found it, thanks! THe editor seems a bit confusing though. Is there a manual or tutorial or anything? I'm wondering if enemies, monster lairs, treasure chests, and shards are generated randomly on the map when I start a new game using that custom map editor map? Or do I have to manually place every monster, every lair, every treasure chest, etc? It would be an incredible pain to create large or huge maps if I had to manually put in hundreds of chests, lairs, etc

I have two questions. First question: Where is the map editor for the game? I want to create highly customized maps. For example, make an island chaim with each island having its own exclusive climate (full arctic on 1 island, full swamp on 2nd island, full desert on 3rd island, etc.) or make a map with only one shard in it. Or a map with 2 or 3 separate continents which would mean more use of "Summoned Ship". Second question: Allow movement throug

I would like to know where the map editor is for the game. I've read a couple posts referring to a map editor, but they don't say where to find it on the computer or SK game folders. I'd love to be able to create in-depth customized maps or tweak a randomly generated map. Similar to map editors in Alpha Centauri, Age of Wonders 2, Starcraft, Civ 4, Civ 5, etc. Some of the maps I wanna create include: Island chain maps. Symmetrical maps. Maps with only, say, 1 or 2

Hey all. Been playing my first game of SK the past couple days. Great game so far. A few questions popped up that I couldn't seem to find the answer for when I tried Googling. So I figured I'd try asking in here, The questions are about respawning, spells, and experience. Respawning: 1. Do lairs respawn new units to fight? If so, how often and can that frequency be changed by game actions? 2. Do the lairs themselves respawn on the map somewh

Hey guys. Just found out about GalCiv 3, and it got me thinking. I have quite a few things from GalCiv 2 that I think should be improved, expanded, or changed for GalCiv 3. I would like to hear your feedback and input on those thoughts of mine once you read through them. Here goes... ========================= 1. ESD. Enemy Starbase Diarrhea. They keep spamming influence starbases all over in my territory as defined by my influence. It would be nice if th

Hey guys. I noticed that the city lights are messed up on Earth. I see some city lights in North Africa, North Australia, and across Indochina. I barely see any city lights in North America, Europe, Russia, and China. Did the city light overlay map get messed up? Is there any way to fix it so that the city lights line up properly to cover the Americas, Europe, China, and the current big urban areas of RL Earth? Also is there a way to fix it in my current game so I don&#3

Thanks for the responses to my questions. I realize moons can't be colonized in GalCiv, but it's a feature that should be added. Colonies on gas giant's moons like Jupiter's moons, or the moon of Yavin in Star Wars, Also, I think that the start date should be fixed so that it can be adjusted. Ditto for turn length. I mean, I'm sure some players might want to set the game in 2500, 3000, or 5000 AD, with a turn being a month, a year, or even days inste

Hey guys. I was wondering if it's possible to change the start date in Gal Civ 2 TA games? For example, I want to start a game in like 2650 instead of 2227. And have specific planets colonized already before game starts. For example, humans colonize Mars in like 2100, then Venus in 2150. Then have these colonies ready and running by the first turn of the game? One thing I don't get is why GalCiv never gives Jupiter or Saturn habitality. They have moo
quoting postHey all, Is there any drawbacks or bugs associated with that map generator? I read something about quests and monsters not working correctly? Can I place individual resources on map tiles in that map generator? I haven't heard anything about that. I would definately like to know about it if anyone finds a problem.
This was the post I was referring to. https://for

Hey all, I'm getting rather frustrated with the seed maps that I use every time I start new game at the world creation screen. I must have started like 200 new games today to find ideal resource placement not just for me but for the AI enemies too. I want everyone to have good starting positions, room to expand, and be much more competitive. In most of the maps I generated at the game start up, I use the "control + U" cheat to reveal the map to check if the resources ar

I'll check in the next game I play. I don't have any mods installed that I'm aware of. I'll give you more info as I play through and keep track of dates + turns. I play on "Epic" settings since it seems like the Civ series "Marathon" mode with slower tech research but more time to move around the map. Or is the Epic setting in Elemental different? I haven't played on Fast or Normal yet so I can't really compare. In one of my other threads, I stated that there REALLY nee

10 - 13 year olds still look small and childish, while late teens (16 - 18) look like adults. Besides in the US, 16 year olds can get driver licenses. Getting off topic here. Anyways, I just thought it was weird to see my dynasty children still babies after 50 years. Also I noticed their birth year keeps moving up year-by-year after a certain point. Ditto for sovereigns, spouses, and heroes. When I start the game, it says my sovereign birth date is 130-something AC. The

I haven't really noticed any major differences with a couple points + / - of accuracy in my games up to this point. I'll have to check out the accuracy boosting items and stack all the + accuracy ones and see what happens.

Thanks for your input on the Empire / Kingdom stuff. I didn't realize that slums weren't an upgrade from houses. I thought since both factions have 3 kinds of houses and that they upgrade. My mistake. Point taken about the weapon dodge / accuracy. However, I haven't seen any major impact if I increased dodge / accuracy a couple points with magical artifacts in unit creation. They perform just as well as they do without the +1 or +2 accuracy and do

Hey all. Yep, more questions from me. I've been playing Kingdom factions, and I thought I'd check out the Empire factions so I started a game as one. I looked at the tech tree to see what the Empires can build. The Empire stuff seems overpowered compared to Kingdoms. 1. Houses. The Empire houses hold more population, and the 3rd level houses- Slums, is equalivent to TWO Kingdom Villas (same house level). The Slums eat 2 food each, whereas the Vill

Two of these threads refer to AI difficulty levels, which is something I already am aware about. I know what the AI difficulty levels do. I'm looking for the other difficulty setting- more specifically the world difficulty level. One of these threads said that it effects monster levels and "minor stuff", but I need more information. Do monsters on Ridiculous level give more experience than monsters on Novice to scale up with higher stats, or are their experience payouts

Umm, the search isn't working for me, and I don't want to go through dozens of pages worth of posts, thread by thread to find my answer. There should have been a tooltip or something in-game that explains exactly what bonuses / penalties that player difficulty levels gives. Some critical options like these currently have no tooltips or pop ups so we're shooting in the dark here.

Hey all, Its me again with yet another question. I'm curious about the player difficulty levels at the game start up menu. Novice through Challenging. I'm not talking about the individual AI difficulty levels, but the difficulty level for you, the player. That slider is to the right of the "World Size" chooser in the first world start up screen. What bonuses / penalties do these difficulty levels do for you? More expensive tech? Smarter AI (in com

Hey all, I was wondering if its a bug or if I'm doing it wrong. In my current game, my custom sovereign married a female hero and started a dynasty. After like 10 years, they had 4 children born. Then things get weird. The children are NEVER growing up. They stay as a "baby" picture for like 40 - 50 years now (150 - 200 turns). Why are they staying babies for that long? How do I turn them into adults?

Gotcha. I'm just concerned that there might not be enough food resources though. Even with the "Garden" for Kingdoms and "Fungus Storage" for Empire, these +2 food structures, plus 1 extra food from using both granaries and irrigation system together (50% bonus), it still isn't enough to make many level 5 cities. If food resources give more food, or the gardens are boosted in food output then this probably won't be an issue with me anymore. I like building large cities. Feels more epic that w

Some good points here. However, I feel that there should be a slight change in resource spawning. Instead of 1 resource spawn within your whole territory per tech, there should be new resources popping up at random in your territory AFTER you research the tech. For example, your miners find the first new Ventri mine in your territory using the newly discovered exploration tech. Then, say, 50 or 100 seasons later, another group of miners finds a new vein of Ventri elsewh
